Third person's POV
Rolf was as excited as a hungry man seeing food, clamoring, "Alpha Derek, just look at these. They're incredibly cool for close combat."
"Alpha Derek, I want this one and that one," he added, pointing at various items.
Alvin shook his head at Rolf with a sense of helplessness.
Derek picked up a compact ladies' pistol, and the shopkeeper enthusiastically described it, "You have a great taste. This is the latest model with minimal recoil, perfect for ladies."
"I'll take this one and this," Derek said.
Then, he pointed to a small, portable dagger that was ideal for concealment.
After browsing for a while, he headed towards the medicinal area.
The place was bustling with people, each acting as if they were in a second-hand store.
In the United States, many drugs are regulated, but on this ship, there were no constraints—only transactions driven by money and desire.
As long as you had enough money, you could satisfy all your cravings.
There was no particular item auction tonight, so Derek could only wander around the various counters.
"Boss, what are you looking to buy? I have a complete range of goods here," a person eagerly solicited him.
The prices for drugs on the ship were several times higher than ordinary places.
However, due to the rarity of the medicines here, the wealthy patrons didn't much mind the cost.
Derek casually picked up a bottle of medicine, toying with it, when the shopkeeper leaned in conspiratorially, saying, "This is our bestseller. Take it, and I guarantee you'll have extraordinary stamina in that aspect. Even the most difficult women will become incredibly docile after using it..."
Derek, not expecting to have picked up such a drug, quickly put the bottle back.
He coughed lightly and asked, "Do you have any anti-wolfsbane drugs?"
"Yes, of course. Do you know what they call me?"
Derek sized up the middle-aged man in front of him, who appeared to be in his forties, with few wrinkles, a love for smiling, and a sly merchant's look.
"No idea."
"I'm called the Living Dead."
"I get it," Rolf interjected from somewhere.
Derek, somewhat exasperated, pulled Rolf aside and continued, "Never heard of it. What kind of medicine do you have?"
"You've come to the right person. I'm a divine doctor who can bring the dead back to life, capable of curing any illness, especially wolfsbane. It's a piece of cake for me."
Rolf whispered in Derek's ear, "Boss, that's definitely the spiel of a scammer."
"Scammer? Who said I'm a scammer? I've spent years researching wolfsbane. Combining ancient medical secrets with my own prescriptions, even if death is imminent, I can prolong life."
If he hadn't said that, Derek might have believed him to some extent, but with those words, Derek turned and left.
No one in this world dares to guarantee a 100% cure for wolfsbane.
"Sir, don't rush off. I'm telling the truth. If I weren't short of money, I wouldn't be in a place like this. If you don't believe me, try some of my other medicines first. I promise you'll want more after the first use."
Rolf retorted directly, "Which normal person takes medicine for no reason? Are you cursing my boss?"
"Who said your boss is normal? He's got a strong desire that needs proper release."
Derek quickened his pace.
Rolf followed, asking, "Uh, so, that quack didn't hit the mark, did he?"
Derek stopped abruptly, giving him a cold stare and reprimanding, "Shut up."
Rolf stood there, stunned, thinking to himself. 'No way, could it be that after Tabitha left, this guy has been celibate for years?'
