Nothing in the world was supposed to have a flavour quite like his lips. Nothing was ever going to be as gentle as his touch, and nothing was ever going to be as heavenly as the way he said her name. Everything about Cayden was just flawless. Selena did a lot of pacing in her room because she couldn't figure out why her heart wouldn't stop beating so fast. Why did it have to be that her mate would become her foe? She had slept with him again, all because of her hussy wolf. Feeling restless, she left her room and walked towards the kitchen. Cutting and chopping would probably stop her from thinking about him.
"Everyone in the group is talking about you at the moment." Zara, a former member of her pack, whispered to her.
Selena said, "Why?" without looking up.
"Because Alpha has accepted you into the pack, and he has given orders that anyone who bullies you will be punished. People are curious about what caused the shift."
Selena looked thoughtful.
"Hey, Selena!" Zara repeated, and Selena looked up.
"I never truly appreciated you for everything you've done for us. I'm sorry about that. I know that Alpha Gerald confined you and subjected you to torment, but we could not disobey the Alpha and free you."
Selena gave the girl a kind grin. "It is already clear; as your guardian, Luna, it was my responsibility to safeguard you in whatever way I could. Even if that means losing the rest of my life."
Things had unquestionably gotten better over the previous few weeks. Except for a few, most of the pack members were nice to Selena. They were not hostile like they were previously.
Selena was startled by an unexpected visitor, which caused her to flinch when Natasha approached her. Zara bowed and then scurried away in a terrified manner.
"Hi," Natasha said to Selena.
"We need to talk," Natasha stated, before turning around and leaving the room.
Selena pursued her because she reasoned she must have wanted to be followed. Natasha continued her journey on foot until she arrived in the garden. Selena gave her a puzzled look as she glanced at her, and she couldn't help but be relieved that Natasha wouldn't try to attack her in the open. If that was what she intended to do.
She stated, "I... want to apologise for my behaviour."
Selena was taken aback by it...." ummm... what? "
Natasha scowled and crossed her arms in front of her chest.
"Do not force me to repeat. I sincerely apologise for my actions. I did not know who you were."
"OK." Selena could respond.
"So, we are good?"
Selena nodded.
"Great! See you." After Natasha had left, Selena was left in a state of disbelief.
"Natasha is trying to be your friend?" A voice sang next to her.
Selena looked at Milli. "Not exactly. She came to apologise."
"Are you looking forward to the run we have tonight?" Millie asked.
"What run?" Selena said.
"The pack run. After what seemed like an eternity, the pack run has finally arrived." Millie expressed her enthusiasm by saying, "I'm excited. I'll wait for you, and we can stroll down together. I was wondering what your plans were for the rest of the weekend. Do you have anything planned for tomorrow?"
Selena had never been a part of the pack run. It was inappropriate for her to join her father's pack since she was too young. Gerald refused to let her take part. To increase his chances of getting her pregnant, he would simply take her to the ritual circle and then fuck her. But she was aware of the surrounding stories.
It was more or less a group hunting trip combined with an unplanned pack party. Depending on the norms of the pack, it typically results in frenzied mating after the wolves have had sufficient food. The gathering has the potential to get as rowdy as a pack orgy or it may be like a simple family BBQ. It was entirely up to the people of the pack. In her previous packs, the higher-ranking wolves could capture and fuck any lower-ranking wolf, regardless of whether the lower-ranking wolf wanted to. If she took part, would it be required of her to have sex with Cayden? After his unsuccessful attempt at mating with her, she avoided being in his presence and became wary of him.
She spoke these words as she made her way back to the kitchen: "I was hoping to read two books that Max gave me."
They had reached the kitchen and Selena started peeling potatoes.
You can't miss the pack run." She said excitedly.
"What happens in your pack run?"
"Oh, we will have some drinks and a campfire. The prey is hunted and then prepared in the same location. There is no need to put up extra effort and wear anything fancy. There is no use in dressing up at all because everything will get ripped off in the end anyhow. ," Millie giggled.
"And if a boy wolf likes a girl, they can bond together. You know what I mean." Millie winked.
"What if the girl decides she doesn't want it? Will she be compelled to have sex with him?"
Millie had a terrified expression. "Hell no! If the other wolf tried to coerce any female, Alpha would put an end to it."
"Is that so?" Selena raised an eyebrow. "That's so ironic."
It seemed like his pack members had a different view of him than herself.
"Well, he's not that horrible, and all the women go to him willingly." Millie protectively stated this.
"Willingly? how many women he had relationships with?" Selena said with a trace of envy in her voice. She paused what she was doing with the potatoes and turned to look at Millie.
"There was Natasha, and there were some others there......,"
Millie abruptly stopped. "Listen, I know he has a history, but you can't let it affect you. Since you've been here, he hasn't been with anybody else."
Were Cayden and Natasha still together? The feeling of jealousy ran through her, and the wolf inside of her roared in rage. She has no right to touch our mate!
Selena laughed and said, "there's no need to explain. I have no interest
In his history, nor the present, nor the future." She turned around and immediately began shifting the books that had been organised.
"Right!" Millie grinned. "Does that imply you'll be joining in on the fun with the rest of the pack? You have nothing to worry about, since nobody will bother you."
Selena let out a long sigh and said, "I will think about it."
