Natasha said "nice" as she looked up from the kitchen to greet Cayden as he entered. He had the attention of more than just her, though. A few other women were staring at their ripped, shirtless alpha.
"You had a good time playing with your pet." Natasha winked.
He gestured with his head, but did not provide any further explanation.
"I need her to look stunning for tonight. Ensure that she is willing."
"Do you have anything exciting planned for tonight?" Natasha asked.
"Yeah, I think there will be a good number of people here. The invitation was accepted by virtually all the guests."
"Good," Natasha said.
"And you warned them about what to expect?"
Cayden chuckled. "I believe that is the reason everyone is attempting to be there. Oh, and make sure that you give her something to eat," Cayden said further. "I don't want her to swoon during the party."
He left, but he was oblivious to Natasha's malicious grin as she watched him go.
********************
She could see the dense forests just beyond the exquisite garden, which made her reflect on her failed attempt to escape into freedom and the fact that she had been so near to succeeding. When she thought of Nancy being with her mate, she couldn't help but flash a gentle smile. She was dreading the next time she would have to see him because of what he said to her and what he forced her to do. Her attention was drawn to the sound of the bedroom door opening. She quickly grabbed the blanket and gripped it in her exposed body. That stunning woman, who she had encountered earlier in the kitchen, was now entering the room.
Natasha, who was wearing a tight pantsuit and heels that made a clicking sound against the floor with each stride, grinned at the caged woman. She gave a polite nod to the wolf who was with her before exiting the room. He placed a bag on the bed before leaving. Selena maintained her silence because she was unsure of how to respond to the woman who stood in front of her. Her fingers tighten their grip on the blanket.
"Your new accommodations suit you. I keep telling him he ought to just lock you up in the dungeon, but he never seems to listen to what I have to say."
As Selena observed the woman in front of her, she felt a trace of fury. How was it possible for her to stand by and let these things happen? She was also a woman. As Selena sat in her cage, she expressed neither her questions nor her fury; rather, she maintained her silence.
After turning around, Natasha reached up to the dresser's top and retrieved the keys before proceeding to open the cage's door. "You know we do not have the whole day. It's not going to be me who gets in trouble if you're late."
Selena heaved a sigh as she wriggled her way out of the confined space. Her hands wrapped tightly around the blanket that was wrapped around her body, as she was adamant about maintaining her privacy.
"Well, that didn't take too much effort, did it?" Natasha said.
"What exactly does he want from me?" Selena asked while glancing at herself in the mirror above the vanity.
Natasha pushed Selena in front of the vanity while letting out a gentle giggle that was tinged with a hint of amusement. She then picked up the hairbrush.
"Cayden has requested that I come up here and help you look presentable for tonight... After your brief frolic in the woods, I find it hard to believe that he allowed you to live. He likes you."
"What is tonight?" Selena inquired with a sense of dread.
"Today is Cayden's birthday, and instead of taking me or any of the pack girls who swoon over him, he's taking you, so if I were you, I'd act like a little angel."
"The best bet you can make is to make him happy. Don't act smart. Follow instructions exactly, even if doing so goes against your better judgment."
As Selena sat in the chair, she grimaced inwardly at the idea of having to behave civilly in the monster's presence. Natasha took the beauty brush off its stand and began applying makeup to Selena's face.
Selena didn't have time to process everything that was going on because she felt Natasha bend over her and say, "It's too bad the other one who escaped had to be killed..."
"WHAT!" The moment Selena hard Natasha, she froze and snapped her head in her direction.
"Oh, please, let me do my work; to make your hideous face attractive requires a lot of work." Natasha let out a huff.
"You all killed Nancy, didn't you? Why? What has she ever done to you?" Selena was helpless to stop the steady stream of tears that came out of her eyes.
"What else did you expect? If the two of you had remained where you were and not fled, then none of this would have happened. You should just count your blessings that she died quickly rather than being sent to the men's barracks. Or perhaps that's something you two found enjoyable?" Natasha giggled. "Oh my! Is that something you're into?" She couldn't help but giggle when she saw Selena's shocked expression.
Selena averted her gaze as she struggled to ignore the venomous comments made by that woman. She moaned to herself, "Oh, poor Nancy."
"Why did he let me live?"
"Told you he likes you. Please put an end to your sobbing; you're destroying your mascara."
While Natasha painted Selena's face, Selena sat impassively in the chair.
"There you go, you're finished," Natasha remarked with a proud tone.
Selena got up from the chair and moved up to the small collection of shoes and dresses. As Selena turned her attention to the mirror, she was taken aback by her appearance. She had lovely red lips and bright pink cheeks thanks to the cosmetics that applied to her face, and together they gave her the appearance of a small delicate porcelain doll.
Natasha went with a short dress that was black and red and paired it with black heels.
"There isn't much time left, so if I were you, I would get ready as quickly as possible," Natasha said as she returned to the stack of makeup bottles to clean them out and put them away. "I'll be right back," she said.
Despite her little dissatisfaction at the absence of any undergarments, Selena dressed in the skintight dress that clung to her. The constricting bodice caused her breasts to bulge. At least it was better than being naked. She was going to have to play nice to him... for now, at least.
"I can perform miracles, I'm sure of it," Natasha remarked with a proud tone. "Come on."
As she followed the woman, Selena cast curious glances around the rooms, as this was the first time she has ever walked on her own without being pulled or carried against her will.
Natasha rattled on about the "greatness" of Cayden, where Selena was dying of guilt. If only she had stayed back, then Nancy would have been alive now. How could he kill an innocent soul? There was only one way to fix this. Kill Cayden.
