Alpha's Caged Love

Trainings and all

Ch. 43 / 159 May 05, 2026

Once more left to herself, Selena ventured outside. She giggled as she jerked open the door and was happy to discover it was unlocked. She was now free to leave because Cayden kept his word. She left the room and looked around. If anyone was observing, they didn't make it seem like they were paying any attention to her. Since she had nothing to do, she proceeded toward the corridor she remembered leading to the library.

Her back pricked while she was reading a book. She was being observed. She turned around and peered back. Natasha was standing there, leaning against the door, her eyes filled with utter contempt. She returned her gaze, which revealed her sour mood.

Selena greeted her with a shaky smile.

Natasha merely glared at her. When she saw Selena free, her hatred for her deepened. She detested seeing that bitch in control.

'How could Cayden ignore what I was saying? All because he's fucking her?' Natasha pondered. 'When did we last fuck?' She tried to remember their most recent filing. It seemed to be so long ago. Since Selena had arrived, he hadn't touched her at all! It was awful. It's all because of that bitch.

Natasha attempted to relax. Selena would be handled by her. But this time, she had thought of a much better strategy. Selena returned the other woman's gaze in kind. She hadn't traveled this far to end her life. She would eventually break free. She would eventually pick up the shards of her life.

"Alpha has instructed you to proceed to the training area, so do so." Loudly, Natasha said.

"Training? "

"Yes, that is one requirement to join this pack. You can't just laze around all day on your fat ass. You must work and exercise. Now go!" Natasha turned around and left.

Selena closed the book abruptly.

Training? The word excited her. Her mother used to train her. After her death, Selena was not given any beta to train her like her half-siblings, but she trained in secret until she was sent to Gerald. It had been so long. She wondered if her body could withstand the training. But her wolf looked forward to it. Poor girl had been released after five years.

She showed up at the practice area. While some wolves were occupied choosing their fighting partner, others were warming up. A few people gave her a weird look, but the majority went about their own business. Thankfully, their terrifying Alpha was not present. She had some relief. She put her hair up in a ponytail and raised her chin.

'Will she train alongside us?'

'I heard she's now free.'

'Will she integrate into the pack eventually?'

Her senses were bombarded by curious murmurs. She ignored them, hoping to encounter some familiar faces.

When she finally found what she was looking for, she stood in the middle, unsure of what to do. Millie turned to face her; her surprised eyes widened. She also spotted a few women from her previous pack. She continued to look at them while giving a small nod of recognition.

"Selena, I'm delighted you joined us." As she rushed over to her, Millie said. A few of her pack mates followed her as well. They stole a glimpse of their former Luna.

"Millie, I'm glad to see you. Why do you seem to avoid me?" Selena enquired.

As if looking for someone, Millie bit her lip and looked around.

"My mother forbid that I see you. She believes you to be a bad influence." She rectified herself right away. "But I don't believe that. Selena, I think you are a lovely person."

Smiling, Selen said.

"Your mother is free to express her view about me. I don't feel offended."

The man behind them suddenly exclaimed in a loud voice.

"Look who's joined us."

"Well, hey there, Bart." Selena gave the beta a stiff reply.

" I'm here to take the training."

He smirked, "That I can see, and I'm free, so why don't we pair up?"

"What?" Selena spoke out loud.

"Of course, I mean for the sparring." He smiled. "However, don't mind partnering for other things as well."

He made Selena's wolf's snarl in disgust.

'Teach him to respect people.' She sensed her wolf charging ahead.

"Alright." She took on the challenge.

They circled each other until Bart attacked. She dodged.

"Too slow."

Once more charging at Selena, Bart switched into his wolf form and snapped at her, just missing her arm by a few inches—most likely on purpose.

Selena leaped back and dashed back into the ring, as she could hear Bart close behind. Selena rolled backward as soon as she heard Bart's paws lift off the ground, dodging him completely before she transformed into a wolf, hoping to attack him from behind before he turned and face her.

But faster than Selena expected, Bart had transformed back into his human form.

Bart jumped and turned Selena onto her back before she could even finish turning, yelling again before he choked and slammed her, putting an end to Selena's yell.

"Submit," Bart told her. His grip on her was like a vice, but nowhere near damaging.

With pants and a slight sniff, Selena relaxed as best she could. As soon as Bart loosened his grip, she toppled him over. She shifted into her hybrid state and snapped at his neck, missing narrowly. Bart was surprised by her attack. He didn't expect her to be so strong. He had forgotten that Selena was an Alpha, although a caged Alpha was still an Alpha. They separated and circled each other again. Bart lunged at her, pinning her to the floor. She kicked his groin, and he yelped, but didn't release his grip.

A familiar scent of pine assaulted her nose; he was here. She turned to face the entrance.

Cayden fixed his gaze on the wolves in combat. When she eventually made eye contact with him, his mate's chest heaved and she hurriedly turned her head to look at the ground. Cayden's eyes narrowed in rage. She was pinned to the ground by another man. He was touching and smothering her.

"No!" Before he had time to consider his options, he charged at her and seized her.

He rolled, throwing Bart off while defending her. Her eyes were confused as he pinned her beneath him, but she was OK.

Her blue-grey eyes were wide as she returned his gaze, and her slightly upturned nose's nostrils swelled out as if she were attempting to scent him back. "Damn, she's lovely," Cayden thought.

Her bangs, which fell down the sides and cupped her face, were wavy and pulled back in a simple ponytail.

Cayden's throat let forth a threatening growl.

"Go away. NOW!" He yelled at Bart.

The other male shook violently in fear.

"How dare you touch her?" He seethed with anger.

"Cayden!" Natasha ran inside the training hall.

"Wait," Natasha took a step toward him, "you sent her to train. Bart and Selena were just sparring."

"Only I will train her. Is that clear?" He barked out as he lowered protectively over Selena, especially as there were more males near his mate.

Natasha's and about everyone else's eyes widened as those words left his lips, but Cayden couldn't care less than he once again faced his mate, taking in her scent at her neck.
