I'm his mate." I repeated and E.Gordon nodded. I swallowed hard. Was I even capable of being his mate? He was Alpha... I was... Me.

"That's why you couldn't mate with that boy," he said but before I could say anything else he continued, "Look Hanna, we have come to level, a period in our generation that we can choose our own mates. But it wasn't that way for our ancestors. Fate destined mates for them. They would love and cherish them till the end of their lives. Now just because we can choose our own mates, doesn't mean Fate does not intervene. Yours and Alpha Black's bonding is special. Don't fight it."

I could do nothing but stare at him in surprise. Alpha was my mate. I didn't know whether to be angry or happy. Did he want me as my mate?

I voiced out my opinions to E.Gordon and a soft sigh escaped him. "He thinks he doesn't deserve you after what he did. But there is only one way for this mating to be broken without killing him."

"How?" I asked, my voice a rasp whisper.

"He will have to step down as Alpha and then you reject him. You will be able to move on but not him. He will always want you."

"I want him as my mate," as soon as the words were out of my lips he grinned. I was surprised. I couldn't believe I just said that. But it was true. I wanted and needed him as my mate. Mine.

"Okay Hanna," he smiled. "That's really good. Now all you have to do is convince him. But he should not know that you know."

I nodded. "Go call him."

I went out to see Alpha sitting on one of the chairs with his head down. As soon as he heard me his head snapped up. "Hanna."

"Um..." I stopped, unsure of what to say.

"Let’s go inside," he said and I nodded.

"Alpha Black, we are still looking into it." E.Gordon said. "Can I give you a call when I know the details?"

Alpha nodded saying his goodbyes. He almost dragged me to the car. I barely had time to snap the seatbelt on before he drove out of there.

"What did he tell you?" he asked.

I shrugged. "Just wanted to know about my family."

He didn't say anything after that and I realized something. I was probably the worst mate in the world. I didn't know his name.

"I don't know your name," I pointed out.

"And?" He smirked.

"Tell me your name?" I trailed off at the end in the obvious tone.

"I don't think so." he chuckled.

I glared at him and looked outside the window. I suddenly realized that I should tell him that I was happy Rick wasn't my mate.

"I'm glad you stopped me that day." my words were whispered but I knew he heard them.

"You’re mating?" he asked and I nodded. "How can you say that?" his voice was harsh.

"My family never liked Rick." I started. I was vaguely aware that he stopped driving. "They thought that he was too cowardly and immature. And sometimes he was. He never talked to my brother or sister. My sister had chosen her mate and he was amazing. He was the complete opposite of Rick. But without my parents knowing I accepted when Rick asked to be my mate. I just wanted what Sophia had. It wasn't until you stopped us that I realized I was wrong. I don't love Rick."

He didn't say anything. Then I added in a whisper, "I'm glad you became the new Alpha. The old Alpha..." a shudder passed through me.

He noticed that. "The old Alpha what bunny?"

"Nothing." I said in a blank voice.

His hand turned my face towards him. "Tell me."

"Nothing really."

"I will punish you if don't tell me," he said and my eyes popped out of my head.

"You wouldn't," I whispered.

He smirked, "Oh but you know I would."

I sighed. "Fine. But if I tell you, you have to tell me your name."

He looked surprised. "Deal."

"My dad worked in the Alpha's office." I started. Only two people knew this. "I was ten. Obviously I was close to my Dad. I would go to his office sometimes and hang out with him. Mom sent me to give lunch to him sometimes. One day when I was going back the Alpha called me to his office. Me being me, stupid and naive, went in. He tried touching ---"

"That bastard!" Alpha growled and I touched his arm.

"Let me finish." I said and he nodded. "I pushed him off and didn't go to the office after that. But one day dad needed a file urgently and no one was at home. I had to go. And he tried doing the same thing again. This time I went home and told my brother and sister. Ty was ready to beat the shit out of him but Sophie had already formulated a plan. Over the next few days we talked to all the girls in school who had ever gone to the office and they said the same thing. He tried the same thing on them. Sophia made them all write it. Then one night, Ty slipped it into the Elder's mailbox. You know, because all mail to the Elders passes through the Alpha. Then obviously they removed him. And they got you."

"Did your parents know about this?" he asked.

I shook my head. "No one. Except you now."

"You should ---"

"Don't forget your part of the deal Alpha," I teased and he shook his head at me as if I was being stupid.

"Damien Black."

"Damien," I whispered the name, testing it. It was just like him. Sexy and mysterious.

"You want me to drop you home?" he asked.

I shook my head. "Actually I want to go somewhere else. I'll show you the way."

Once we reached where I wanted to be I jumped out of the car, even without waiting for him. I ran to the door and rang the doorbell about ten times. I heard a groan and a curse.

"What the fuck is wrong with you," Damien hissed and I looked at him in surprise. The door swung open and there stood my favorite person in the world.

"Dammit Hanna---" he started but I cut him off by hugging him tightly as if my life depended upon it. I heard a low growl but ignored it.

"Whoa. I missed you too sis," Ty said and I blinked back my tears.

"Are you okay?" he asked when I finally pulled back.

"Yeah. I just missed you."

"Hey man!" Ty said and I realized that Damien was still standing there. "How come you're here?"

"Just dropping her off." he said and a frown passed Ty's face. Before he could say anything I asked,

"You guys know each other?"

"Yeah," Ty said. "He's the Alpha. Of course I know him." I glared at him before pushing him away and making my way into the house.

"Hey!" Ty protested, "I never said you could go in."

"Do you have a girl in there?" I asked as I opened the door to his room.

"No."

"Then? I just want to spend some time with my brother."

"What happened to that asshole you were going to mate?" he asked.

"We're over," I said and Ty almost whooped.

"You're too good for him sis," he said and I smiled. I went into the kitchen and took out three beers. I handed one to Ty and one to Damien. His eyes held mine as he opened the bottle and took a swig. I could feel my chest constricting and my panties becoming wet.

"Hanna!" Ty snapped and I looked at him in confusion.

"I was asking of you want to go see Soph."

"When?" I asked.

"Two weeks later?" he said and I nodded.

"Cool. Can you make me some breakfast?" he asked and I nodded.

He grinned at me before kissing me on my cheek and walking out of the kitchen.

"You are not going anywhere." Alpha Damien said and I raised my eyebrows at him.

"Excuse me?"

"Don't you dare defy me bunny," he said and I glared at him.

"I will go. You cannot stop me until you have a good enough reason."

"Two weeks from now?" he asked looking at me weirdly. I nodded. Then I realized. I would go into heat two weeks from now. I tried to hide the horror from my face. This was the best way to get him to confess.

"You're not going," he said through gritted teeth as he walked out of the kitchen. I sighed as I made Ty's breakfast. When I went into the living room Damien was gone.

After spending some time with Ty I went home. As soon as I opened the door I heard a voice. My knees almost buckled underneath my legs.

"I've been waiting for you."
