"Hanna?" Damien's voice brought me out of my musings. I looked at him with a broken expression.

"I... I cannot," I choked out, "You hurt me so much Damien. I don't think I will get past it."

Hurt filled Damien's eyes. "Hanna... Don't do this. I will do anything to win you back. To get back your trust. Give me a chance baby."

I swallowed. I didn't know what to do. Could I pretend that everything was sunshine and rainbows and get past this. No, a part of my mind whispered and I knew that part was right. I wouldn't ever be able to get past this.

"Where were you?" Damien asked, drawing my attention to him. "I searched the entire territory. You even blocked me out Hanna. I couldn't even smell you."

I looked at him with a frown. Blocked him out? What?

"You were really angry with me and so was your wolf. She blocked us out," Damien explained. "I cannot even imagine what would happen if you hadn't come back."

A shiver passed through me at his tone. "I was in my house."

Damien frowned. "But you... said that you would sell it."

I gave him a small, sad smile. "I think a part of me knew that you wouldn't look there. I won't sell it. Someone needs it."

"Someone?" Damien asked, and he couldn't keep the possessiveness out of his voice. I didn't say anything, and he sighed. I knew he would get mad if he knew about Rick, but it was my turn to be mad right now.

We sat in silence, both of us lost in our own thoughts. I didn't know what to say to him. I wanted to ask him about Rita, but a part of me didn't want to know. And I felt as if I had lost the right to say anything. I didn't trust him anymore.

"Aren't you going to ask about Rita?" Damien finally asked.

I looked at him, frowning. "I don't know. Should I ask about Rita?"

"Don't be like that Hanna." Damien said, sadness creeping into his voice.

"I feel like I have lost the rights Damien. I don't know what to ask. You let her call me a fucking whore!"

Damien ran his hands through his already disheveled hair. "I know. And I am so sorry Hanna. How did you expect me act? The girl I was supposed to mate with, who cheated on me with my own fucking brother shows up! The last time I saw her she was pregnant."

I stared at him with wide eyes. "You knew."

"Yes, Hanna. I knew. And after much thought, I figured out I couldn't blame Gavin. He wouldn't do anything like that on purpose."

"But... How?" I asked, still stunned. He knew. And he still didn't do anything about it. He made Gavin his best man. They were so close.

"I knew it the day Rita came home pregnant." Damien said, a distant look in his voice. "I could smell him all over her, her pup had the same smell. I didn't say anything. Gavin is my brother and I saw how much he had suffered. I couldn't let him know that I knew."

"Wow." I whispered.

"Rita came here to tell me." Damien continued, not bothering to comment on my whispered astonishment. "Apparently, the guilt was eating her up." I heard Damien scoff.

"And?" I prompted.

"I told her I knew. And that she had no right to barge into my house like that. I followed your scent, but that also stopped near the lake. When I couldn't find you, I called all the warriors."

I stared at him in shock. But I still couldn't find it in me to forgive him. I don't know why, but it was so fucking hard!

"Did you eat?" his voice was soft.

I shook my head, making him frown. "I'll call for pizza or something? Do you want anything specific?"

I shook my head. "I'm not hungry."

"Hanna," Damien sighed.

"Don't," I warned him. "I'm going to sleep. In the guest room."

Damien looked shocked. Astonished. "What?!"

"I am going to sleep in the guest room." I repeated. "I can't bear to sleep with you."

The shock was overtaken by guilt and sadness. I had to look away from his face to make myself cold. To stop myself from giving in.

"How long? What can I do to make you forgive me?" Damien asked in a broken voice.

"Just give me some time Damien. Goodnight."

(This is Hanna's dream.)

I looked at them like an outsider. Their hands together, a smile on their lips. They looked like the perfect couple. I belatedly noticed that she had a baby bump and he was looking at her with joy. At the bump with joy.

Damien and Rita.

I woke up with a startled scream. I took in a deep breath and looked up into dark, stormy eyes. Damien. His face shone with worry and his eyes showed me just how much he loved me.

"Hanna?" his voice was unsure.

I burst into sobs and without saying anything, Damien pulled me into his arms. I cried into his chest. I knew that I didn't have to tell him what the dream was about. He would have read my mind by now.

"Baby. I will never leave you," Damien spoke in a hard voice, truthfulness shining through.

"Promise?" I asked, hating how vulnerable I sounded.

"Promise. Now let's go to bed."

I almost said no, but the look on his face stopped me. Neither of us could stay without the other. We craved each other. Like a junkie who craved his joint. Damien picked me up and carried me to our bedroom. He laid me down and laid down next to me.

I snuggled into him, breathing his calming scent in. Suddenly Damien's entire posture changed.

"Why the fuck do you smell like Rick?"

Fuck. My. Life.
