Twin Sister STOLE My Billionaire Fiance

History Repeating Itself

Ch. 20 / 21 Aug 12, 2025

Damien couldn't sleep that night and could have called Violet on the phone if he thought it would be any good but it was no use since she had expressly asked her father not to let him in.

He did not really blame her but she should not allow her anger to destroy what they had.

The next day, he went to the office and wanted to stop by and pick Violet up so they could go together but thought better of it.

It is better I go to the company and invite her into my office when I get there.

Violet had not yet reported for work when he got there and though Violet was very punctual, he did not consider it off because he had actually got to the office earlier than usual because he had wanted some time with Violet before normal work hours and had thought that she might feel the same especially once she knew he had been to her house the previous night to apologize.

Normal office hours and all the staff reported to their duty posts and yet no sign of Violet.

By ten o'clock and still no sign of Violet, he called their house but no response. He became restless.

Calm down, he thought. She is okay. He felt a sense of deja Vu as he recalled another time and how he had waited for another woman but not in the office as was the case now, but in the church and she did not come only to come later not to marry him but with the evidence of having married his brother instead.

He had a premonition that he just might have lost Violet to another die to his lack of faith in her but it was incredible. It could not be.

He tried to do some work. Perhaps, she was not feeling well and had decided to take the day off, he thought.

By lunch hour and she was still not there, Damien gave up all pretenses of work and went out, asking Amanda Jones to stand in for Violet.

'Any reason she is not at work today?' she asked.

'She is not feeling quite well. But she will be all right. I am on my way to see her now ', he said, hoping he was right.

He got to her house and she was no where to be found and neither was her father.

The case of her father could be remedied as Damien knew that he could find him in the military base. He went there to speak to Jeremy and find out the whereabouts of his daughter.

He had not had any assignments for quite a while now and he just was not ready for one right now.

'Jeremy, Violet did not come to work today', he said after they had exchanged greetings. 'Any reason for that?'

'Violet is not around', Jeremy said.

'What do you mean she's not around. Where has she gone?' he asked.

'She decided she wanted a few days to herself Do she went away somewhere to do just that', Jeremy shrugged.

Damien could not believe it. Did Violet go somewhere without informing him and they were planning to get married. He knew that they had not parted in the best of terms but was that reason enough? Apparently, it was to her.

'Where has she gone? I mean where will she be staying?' he asked.

'I'm not sure'.

'Your daughter who is emotionally troubled goes off and did not tell you where she was going and you did not try to find out', Damien said incredulously. 'And you expect me to believe that? I am not a kid and you know she is my fiancee. I am the reason for her state of mind and I want to make it all right. Please tell me where she has gone to'.

'She made me promise not to tell', Jeremy said.

'Oh, please Jeremy. How are we ever going to resolve this issue if she keeps avoiding me? Will avoiding me or running from the situation make it ho away?'

Jeremy knew how he felt. He had felt very hurt a d disappointed when his wife had not batted an eyelid when he left him, taking his second daughter with her. But the situation was different here and he was going to stand by his daughter.

He remained mute but Damien kept insisting and Jeremy consoling himself that he was doing this for his daughter, said vaguely.

'You should try and find her on your own Accord. Ask yourself, if there is a friend she might want to stay with or are there any relatives, she might want to see?'

'But you could answer those questions for me and I'd take it from there', Damien countered.

'You are a secret agent and you need help doing what you know how to do well?'

Damien felt suitably chastised and nodded. 'Thanks anyway. I shall find her and I shall bring her home to marry me', he vowed.

Jeremy looked at him without speaking but praying that he succeeded in doing as he had vowed because Jeremy would be the happiest father on earth if Violet married Damien. He had felt that Damien was good for Violet but seeing how happy he made her and how it was between them, he could only keep his fingers crossed that all should work out right for them.

Damien drove not back to the office but to his house to think.

Any friends? Violet had not spoken of any friends except her father's friend who had rescued her from the rapist. Should he go there and find out if she was staying there? Afterall, she had told him that she stayed with them whenever her father was not home on assignment.

Violet had taken him to see them on one occasion when she needed to return a fabric and introductions had been made. Mr. Hermione had specifically asked Damien to be good to Violet and not to hurt her or have him to answer to. He had said it lightly but Damien had sensed the underlining seriousness and had understood remembering the experience he had saved Violet from and how close she was to them, akin to a daughter.

So, he got up again and went to visit Mr. Hermione and his wife and met the woman at her sewing.

'A good day to you, ma'am', he greeted.

'And to you. What brings you here Damien?' she asked.

'How is your husband?'

'He travelled for some important work. How may I help you and you are not with Violet today, any reason why?' she asked.

'I was hoping she was here. Is she not here?'

'No, she's not. Did she say she was coming over?'

'We had a little disagreement and she left. Her father said she went away to either some friend's house or relatives', Damien explained. 'She did not tell me of any friends other than you and I do not think there are other relatives apart from you as well. It would seem that you are both her friend and relative'.

Mrs. Hermione looked at Damien thoughtfully. 'She must have told you about her mother and twin sister?' she asked.

Damien felt the cloud clear from his mind. Of course, he thought, wondering why he had not remembered it.

'She did but for some inexplicable reasons, it escaped my mind ', he said. 'Thank you so much. You just saved me alot of effort and anxiety'.

Mrs. Hermione smiled, thinking how sweet it was to be young and in love.
