Three Alpha Mates

Chapter 29

Ch. 29 / 30 Apr 13, 2026

The palace gleams, transformed for this historic day. Silk banners cascade from balconies like liquid silver. Crystal chandeliers throw rainbows across marble. Winter roses fill every alcove with heady perfume.

I stand before the mirror, hardly recognizing myself. The wedding gown weighs heavy—moonsilk and diamonds mirroring the hidden mate marks. A crown of white gold sits on my head, its weight reminding me what this means.

"You're not just becoming his wife," Nathan says from behind me, adjusting his formal attire—midnight blue trimmed with silver, marking him as high nobility. His reflection meets my eyes in the mirror. "You're becoming Queen of all the High Packs."

"The first Queen in three generations," Luca adds, fastening his ceremonial sword at his hip. His usual bright charm is tempered by the gravity of what's coming. "The first wife of a cursed bloodline in over a century."

"And we're about to announce our unconventional arrangement to everyone who matters politically," I say, smoothing trembling hands over the silk. "Representatives from every High Pack are here. Delegations from neighboring kingdoms. Everyone watching, judging, waiting for any sign of weakness."

Nathan steps closer, his fingers brushing my bare shoulder where the dress dips low. The mate mark there flares with soft light at his touch, sending warmth through my entire body. "Ryder knows exactly what he's doing. He's King by right and by power. The curse is broken because of you—because of what we all are together."

"That doesn't mean they'll accept it easily," I murmur, remembering the conservative pack leaders who've already expressed concerns.

"They don't have to accept it," Luca says with uncharacteristic steel in his voice. "The Moon Goddess already has. Look at us, Coralina. Look at what glows on our skin when we're together."

The ceremonial bells ring. Time.

The throne room is a cathedral. Hundreds of witnesses fill the space—Alphas, nobles, foreign dignitaries. The altar bathes in skylight.

Ryder waits in royal regalia, crown gleaming. His golden eyes capture me as I walk the aisle flanked by Nathan and Luca. The symbolism is clear—I arrive with two protectors, not given away by family.

Whispers ripple through the crowd.

The High Priest performs the ancient ceremony. "By the Goddess's blessing, by broken curses, by crown and bloodline, I bind you as husband and wife, King and Queen, fated mates."

Ryder takes my hands, our mate bond blazing visible. "With this ring, I claim you as my wife, my Queen, my fated mate."

"With this crown," I respond as he places the circlet, "I accept my place as Queen, as wife, as your destined mate."

We kiss. The throne room erupts in applause. But Ryder doesn't release me. He turns us to face the assembly, keeping my hand firmly in his.

"Lords and Ladies of the High Packs, honored guests. You've witnessed the first royal wedding in three generations. The curse is broken, the kingdom has its Queen, the succession is secure."

He raises his hand for silence. "But there's more. The Moon Goddess has blessed my Queen with something unprecedented—not one mate bond, but three."

Shocked gasps echo off stone walls.

"She is bound to me, and also to Lords Nathan and Luca. These bonds are divine mandate, blessed by the Goddess herself."

"Blasphemy!" Lord Marcus shouts, face purple with rage. "An abomination! One mate, one bond—sacred law for millennia!"

"Sacred law that cursed my bloodline? Traditions that would see me dead at thirty?" Ryder's voice drops dangerously. "Show them."

We reveal the mate marks—glowing patterns interweaving on our skin with divine radiance so bright that some shield their eyes.

Several nobles drop to their knees. Others remain standing, scandalized.

"This perverts everything sacred!" Duchess Helena screams.

"Silence," Ryder commands with Alpha power. "I am King by birth, right, and power. The curse is broken. The Goddess's approval glows on our skin. This is not negotiable."

I step forward before he can continue, my voice carrying the authority I've been learning to wield.

"I am Coralina, descendant of Selena of the Snow Wolves, heir to the lost bloodline of the North. The Goddess chose this path before any of us were born. My dreams showed me three faces before I ever met these men. The bonds called to us across curses, across deceptions, across every obstacle."

The room falls deathly quiet, every eye fixed on us.

"I was hidden as an infant, raised in ignorance of my heritage, brought south through manipulation and betrayal. Every step was guided by the Goddess's hand to bring us here—to break the curse, to restore balance, to prove that love transcends the narrow boundaries tradition tries to impose."

"You speak of divine plan?" Lord Viktor, one of the most conservative pack leaders, stands slowly, his weathered face skeptical. "You claim the Goddess herself ordained this... arrangement?"

"I claim nothing," I say steadily, meeting his gaze without flinching. "The evidence speaks for itself. Look at the marks. Feel the power radiating from them. The Goddess's blessing is undeniable to anyone with eyes to see."

"Then we're supposed to accept that our Queen has three mates? That she'll divide herself between three men?" Another lord's voice drips with disgust. "It goes against everything we've been taught!"

"You're supposed to accept what the Goddess has already decided," Nathan speaks for the first time, his deep voice commanding instant attention. And by Goddess, is it making me excited.

"My brother and I have served this kingdom faithfully our entire lives. We've bled for it, fought for it, nearly died protecting it from enemies you'll never know about. The Goddess saw fit to bind us to your Queen. Question her wisdom if you dare."

"The real question," Luca adds with deceptive lightness that doesn't hide the steel beneath, "is whether you're brave enough to stand against divine will. Because make no mistake—these bonds exist. They're blessed. Your approval is neither required nor particularly relevant to their reality."

Several pack leaders storm out in protest. But more remain than leave, gradually accepting the unchangeable.

"The wedding feast commences," Ryder announces. "Those who celebrate the Goddess's blessing are welcome. Others can explain their position to her directly."

The feast vibrates with tension. The great hall is magnificent—tables groaning with delicacies, strained music playing.

We make our statement through action.

I dance first with Ryder, my husband and King. "You were magnificent," he murmurs. "Every inch the Queen."

"We've declared ourselves. No hiding now."

The music shifts. Nathan takes Ryder's place, intense and protective, claiming me before everyone. "Some will never accept this," he says quietly.

"Then they'll be replaced. Too late for disagreeing now." I smirk.

"You're terrifying as Queen." His eyes are unusually soft.

"I'm not playing."

Finally Luca sweeps me into movement with natural grace. "Half are terrified, half in awe. All realize the world just shifted."

"Good. It needed shifting."

As the music ends, all four of us stand together before the court. The message rings clear: this is our reality now. The Queen has three mates, blessed by the Goddess herself.

Accept it or not, this is the new order.
