Three Alpha Mates

Chapter 23

Ch. 23 / 30 Apr 13, 2026

The sacred grove waits beneath the full moon, ancient trees forming a perfect circle. My grandfather leads the way, while the pack elders follow in solemn procession. Nathan and Luca flank me, their presence both comfort and torment as anticipation coils in my stomach.

"The return ceremony hasn't been performed in three generations," Elder Theron says. "But the old words remain, preserved for this moment."

I step into the circle's center where my grandfather waits. The Alpha of Snow Wolf pack draws a ceremonial blade from his belt, the metal singing as moonlight catches its edge.

"Are you ready, granddaughter?" His eyes search mine with pride and concern.

"I'm ready." My voice doesn't shake, though my heart pounds violently.

"Then we begin." He raises his voice, switching to the Old Language. "Moon Mother, witness this return. Blood of our blood, lost to shadow, comes home beneath your light."

The blade flashes. He cuts his palm first, blood welling dark, then takes my hand. The cut burns more than it should. Our blood mingles as he binds our hands together with a white cord.

"By blood you were stolen," he intones, the words vibrating through the clearing. "By blood you return. The Snow Wolf pack reclaims its daughter, releases her from all foreign bonds, accepts her as she was always meant to be."

Something shifts inside me, subtle at first, like a key turning in a lock I never knew existed. The sensation builds as my grandfather continues in the Old Language.

"I recognize you, Coralina, daughter of Helga, granddaughter of Viktor, heir of Selena's line. The pack recognizes you. The land recognizes you."

The shift becomes a crack, then a rupture. Chains I never felt suddenly shatter, falling away like broken glass. My scar erupts in white-hot fire, burning so bright I have to close my eyes against the intensity. The pain is exquisite, overwhelming, but underneath it—freedom. Pure, absolute freedom.

"The curse acknowledges its condition met," an elder whispers in awe. "Look at her mark!"

My scar blazes brighter than the moon itself, casting new shadows across the grove. The land beneath my feet seems to sing, welcoming me home with ancient joy. I am recognized. I am returned. I am complete.

And then everything changes.

The faint third pull I've been feeling for weeks doesn't just strengthen—it slams into me with the force of a hurricane. A mate bond, absolute and undeniable, blazing into recognition with such intensity my knees buckle. This is Ryder, hundreds of miles away in the capital, suddenly connected to me by fate itself.

"Coralina!" Nathan catches my right arm while Luca grabs my left, keeping me upright as the bond establishes itself with violent certainty. But as their skin touches mine, I feel their bonds change too.

What was already strong becomes something else entirely—complete, visible, singing with power that makes the very air around us shimmer and spark.

"By the Goddess," Luca breathes, his voice thick with wonder. "I can see it. I can actually see the bonds."

He's right. Golden threads of light spiral from my chest to his, to Nathan's, and a third strand shoots off into the distance, reaching across impossible miles for Ryder. The bonds pulse with each heartbeat, growing brighter, more solid, more real than anything I've ever experienced.

"Three bonds," Nathan says, his grip tightening. "You have three mate bonds. How is that even possible?"

"The Moon Goddess has chosen," Elder Morgouse steps forward, eyes wide with reverence and trepidation. "Never in our histories... but the evidence is undeniable."

My skin begins to glow—not just my scar, but patterns emerging across my arms, wherever skin is visible. Three distinct designs interweaving: Nathan's sharp, protective lines; Luca's flowing patterns of passion; and Ryder's royal marks, complex and commanding. They spiral around each other, creating something unprecedented.

"A triple mate bond," my grandfather says slowly, releasing my hand. "The Goddess has bound you to all three."

"Is she going to be alright?" Luca demands, pulling me closer as I sway. "This can't be normal."

"Nothing about this is normal," Elder Theron says, examining the glowing marks. "Three mates, three bonds, all activated simultaneously. The magical strain alone should have rendered her unconscious."

I'm standing because they're holding me. Through the bond to Ryder, I feel his shock, his confusion flooding through this unexpected connection.

"Ryder," I gasp, pressing a hand to my chest. "He can feel it too."

"Three mate bonds," Nathan says with protective wonder. "The Goddess bound you to all three of us."

"This changes everything," Luca murmurs, studying the glowing threads. "The old stories never mentioned anything like this."

"Because it's never happened before," Elder Morgana says, circling us slowly. "In all our histories, we've never seen one soul bound to three others."

"Is it stable?" my grandfather asks. "Will the bonds hold?"

Elder Theron observes the marks pulsing on my skin. "They're harmonizing, creating something new."

I feel them all through the bonds—Nathan's strength like mountain stone, Luca's passionate fire, and Ryder's complex emotions across the distance.

"Will they always be visible?" Luca asks softly.

"The visibility will fade," Elder Morgouse explains, "but the bonds are permanent. What the Goddess has joined, nothing can sever."

My grandfather examines the interweaving marks with wonder. "Nathan's thorns and shields. Luca's flowing creativity. And these royal symbols—King Ryder's bond."

"But why?" I whisper. "Why bind me to all three?"

"Perhaps because all three were needed," he says softly. "Perhaps you're meant to bridge what was separated. Or perhaps love was never meant to be limited."

"It's unprecedented," Elder Theron adds. "But so is breaking an ancient curse."

Through my bonds, I feel Nathan's unwavering determination, Luca's fierce passion burning brighter, and Ryder's desperate hope and wonder.

"Can you stand alone?" Nathan asks, though he doesn't release me.

"I think so," I say, testing my balance. The shock is fading, leaving warm connection that feels natural as breathing.

"The land accepts this union," my grandfather announces. "The curse is broken. And the Goddess has given us something extraordinary."

He places both hands on my shoulders. "You are Snow Wolf now, completely. But you're also something new. Something the world has never seen."

"The first of your kind," Elder Morgouse adds reverently. "Bound to three alphas, carrying marks that will be remembered forever."

The elders step back as the ceremony concludes. The marks on my skin glow softer but constant. Three mates. Three bonds. Three men who hold equal pieces of my soul.

"We should return," Luca suggests softly. "You need rest."

"Rest," I echo, though every nerve feels alive, connected to three different souls in ways I'm beginning to understand.

As we leave the sacred grove, the weight of what's occurred settles into my bones. The curse is broken. The Moon Goddess has bound me to three men, creating something that rewrites everything about fate.

Nathan's hand finds mine. Luca's presence warms my other side. And far away, I feel Ryder's wonder through our bond.

The marks pulse with gentle warmth—real, permanent, divine. Whatever comes next, we'll face it as something unprecedented.

The elders watch with awe and trepidation. They've witnessed the night the Moon Goddess rewrote fate itself, binding one soul to three in perfect, impossible harmony.
