The Rebirth of My Dead Billionaire Wife

Chapter 268

Ch. 268 / 300 Apr 25, 2026

Avery sat at her kitchen table, a notebook open in front of her, and her phone buzzing with Pinterest notifications. She was meticulously planning a surprise birthday party for Ryan Hayes. He had been her rock through thick and thin, and she wanted to make his day unforgettable.

“Alright,” she muttered to herself, jotting down ideas. “Theme: elegant yet casual. Food: Italian, because he loves it. And the guest list… small and intimate.”

She tapped her pen against her chin, scanning her list. She wanted everything to be perfect—from the decorations to the menu.

The first step was finalizing the guest list. She decided to keep it small—just their closest friends, including Janice and a few of Ryan’s colleagues from work.

She called Janice to share her plan.

“Hey, Jan,” Avery said, her voice brimming with excitement.

“What’s up, Aves?” Janice asked.

“I’m planning a surprise birthday party for Ryan,” Avery said. “It’s going to be small, but I need your help.”

“You know I’m in,” Janice said enthusiastically. “What do you need me to do?”

“For starters, I need a second opinion on decorations and food,” Avery said. “And I might need you to keep Ryan distracted while I set everything up.”

“Consider it done,” Janice said. “This is going to be epic!”

The next morning, Avery headed to a party supply store to pick out decorations. She walked through the aisles, scanning the shelves for items that would fit the theme she had in mind.

“Something simple, but classy,” she murmured, picking up a string of warm fairy lights. She added navy blue and silver balloons to her cart, along with a banner that read, “Happy Birthday, Ryan!”

She paused in the candle aisle, debating whether to get scented candles for ambiance.

“Vanilla or eucalyptus?” she muttered to herself.

“Go with vanilla,” said a cheerful sales associate passing by.

“Thanks,” Avery said, smiling as she added the candles to her cart.

Next, Avery stopped by an Italian catering company to order Ryan’s favorite dishes.

“Hi,” she said to the manager, who greeted her warmly. “I need catering for a small party—about ten people. I’m looking for classic Italian dishes.”

“Of course,” the manager said, pulling out a menu. “We can do bruschetta, Caprese salad, lasagna, and chicken Alfredo. For dessert, we have tiramisu or cannoli.”

Avery’s mouth watered at the options. “Let’s do all of that,” she said. “And maybe add some garlic bread and wine to the order?”

“Great choices,” the manager said, jotting it down. “What date and time will you need the delivery?”

“Next Saturday, 6 p.m.,” Avery replied.

The final stop was a boutique bakery. Avery wanted a cake that was as special as Ryan.

“Hi,” she said to the baker. “I’m looking for a custom birthday cake. Something elegant but not too over-the-top.”

“What flavor were you thinking?” the baker asked.

“Chocolate and hazelnut,” Avery said without hesitation. “It’s his favorite.”

The baker nodded, sketching a design. “How about a two-tier cake with a sleek navy and silver design? We can add a few edible paintbrushes and an art palette to tie in his love for art.”

“That’s perfect,” Avery said, smiling. “He’ll love it.”
