Aurora's POV
I was peeping all those time when the Alpha was beating his daughter, and I was enjoying every bit of the show. The excitement in my heart was already making my heart thud erratically.
I really love how he beat her up and how he won't listen to her when she tries proving innocence. The sweetest part was cutting her skin with the knife and caring less about her bleeding. He even had to ask where the bracelet was again.
His deep and raw cruelty and contempt towards his daughter was growing by the day, and all I do was find every possible way to make it root deeper and deeper.
Ava's cry, pain and misery were all my heart longed for, and seeing it played in front of me every day couldn't stop putting me in ecstasy. Sooner or later, she won't be able to bear it all and she's surely going to end up killing herself, as death would be the only escape route. By then, nothing would be our fear.
No one would stand in our way when it was time to attack this pack and destroy it. Ava is the only challenge, so once she is put aside, this pack will be at the mercy of the demons' hand. I can't wait for the day when every wolf in this town becomes a slave to the demons.
Well, I don't actually care about what the demons have in store for them, I am only here to take every single happiness left for Luna Selene. Ava's mother deserves every single pain in this world. After killing her, I still want her to watch from the underworld how I destroy everything she loved.
Wondering who I am?
My actual name is Diane, but I had to change it the moment I came into this pack. I was a friend to Selene, the mother of Ava, until she decided to mock me.
Yes! We are very close and do everything together, helping and caring for each other right from childhood. We grew up together in the Blue Lake Pack, played together, and became best of friends, but not until her beauty got into her head. Every male wolf desires her and won't glance at my side. I was more like an outcast around her. In school, they flock around her, and I would only force myself to be relevant in any conversation because they all want to talk to her alone.
It wasn't my fault that I don't look as beautiful as she was and it made me so jealous of her after she severally requested I stay back when she goes to meet some male friends who calls for her attention.
I don't want to reminsce on those past memories because it will only make my heart burn in rage and bitterness.
At the age of 18, she was glowing and radiating perfection and beauty, while I wallowed in ugliness. I am short, fat, and have uneven teeth that prevent me from smiling often. While her brows were bristly and her voice tiny and melodious, my brows were thick like the forest of the Amazon. My voice appeared manly and thick.
No clothes could fit me perfectly no matter how well they were sewn. She doesn't even need much fashion to look like a princess. The last straw that broke the camel's back was when she stole my man, a man I crushed so much on and prayed to have. A man I first met and primped extremely to get his attention. He is one of the most handsome Alpha princes from a neighboring pack.
It took Selene just a smile to get him. At first sight, he was already head over heels in love with her and kept asking me about her even after seeing that I was interested in him.
When Selene told me of her desire to marry him, I couldn't bear it so I poisoned him. Yes, I killed the Alpha prince with a poisoned apple, which I lied to him that it was from Selene so he would take it.
She turned 21 then, while I was 24. Older than her with 3 years, yet no man ever came my way. How will I let her get married earlier than me?
It wasn't long before she later found her mate and ran away with him, dropping a letter for me. A letter where she wrote every one of my secrets. I never knew she was aware that I killed her first lover. She called me a bad friend. She also called me an ugly duck and said I'd never find a man who would even look at me, let alone love me.
It was so painful while reading that and I couldn't bear to sit back and watch her live a blissful life. I heard her mate was an Alpha and she had become a Luna so the only option was to sell my soul to the devil, turn into a demon and become a mistress to the demon king to gain powers and have him help me kill Selene and her children during childbirth.
But the strangest thing was how Ava survived. She was meant to die with others, yet she escaped death and slipped off the hook. The demon king had really warned me about her being a threat to my plan to destroy pack, so I only have to push her father and everyone else into making her kill herself out of grief from the pains they put her into.
I was allowed into this pack as an Omega by the Alpha out of pity since I was already in my thirties with no mate and a weak inner wolf as Selene's curse of not me not having anyone to love me really came to pass, and I hate her deeply for that.
I love how the Alpha hated and blamed Ava for his mate's death. I love how everyone in the pack bullies and maltreat her without knowing she might just be their only chance of survival later.
Ava's POV
I opened my eyes slowly but shut them back as a whimper escaped my lips. Immense pain was all I felt spreading around my left arm region, but that wasn't why my heart was broken. I can't believe once again I escaped death and just woke up from my unconsciousness. My prayers to die weren't answered again.
My eyes ached as burning tears seared deep inside my eye sockets while my lips quivered as I sobbed in sadness.
"What type of life is this?" I mumbled to myself. My heart seemed to be on fire from the sharp pangs I was feeling. It was a horror to see my father attack me with a knife. He didn't just threaten me with it, but had also struck me with the knife.
Not only that, he ignored me even when I was bleeding and still went ahead to ask for his bracelet. I was dying from loss of blood, but the beast of a father didn't care even the smallest bit.
At the end, the bracelet was found in his room. I was blamed and injured for something I have no idea about.
"Oh, God, why me?"
My eyes fluttered and opened again. This time my vision was quite clear and I could see I was in the pack clinic from the medicine and herbal scent that hit my nostrils. I could see clearly now and just as I spun to the corner of my bed, I saw someone dressed in the pack warrior attire sitting on the chair a few feet away from me.
His gaze fell on me, and as our eyes locked, all I could see was pure care and pity glinting in those eyeballs, which I can't understand how and why.
Is there someone who cared for me in his pack?
