The Lycan king rose from the bed and began to walk over to the door, forcing me into panic.
"Get on your knees." The king whispered to me, and without wasting a second, I knelt, forcing myself to have a little hope in me.
The door was opened by the Lycan king, and I could hear Jason's footsteps with his omnious aura filling the whole room. My breath seemed to be glitching, but I tried hard to hide it all while bowing my head in fear.
"What is he doing here? Why are you punishing him?" Jason inquired, and it was like I had been holding my breath all this time as I finally exhaled the mouthful of air in relief.
All this time, I had the wrong idea. Jason doesn't know what I have done.
"I caught him peeping into your room!" The king howled, pretending to be angry.
"What??! I don't get it...he was peeping on me when I was in my room. Why would he do that knowing how wrong it is!" Jaden frowned as he peered at me.
"He refused to tell me why he was doing that! He adamantly refused to tell me!" Tayloe growled, clenching his fist. Jaden's face contorted into a confused one as he seemed not to be able to grasp the situation.
"Hey, Carl, have you gone out of your mind? I sent you out of my room. Instead of leaving, you were peeping! Why?" Jaden asked with an angry tone.
"Don't dare to remain silent on me. You can be stubborn with my father, not me. I don't have patience and might slit your throat!" His voice rumbled like thunder as he drew closer to me.
"You won't want me to say it to him. I was peeping on you because, for that same reason, you sent me out. Do you expect me to tell the alpha your secret about that secret errand you gave me yesterday?" I mumbled, and that was when he realized the whole thing.
"Oh....stand up then." He smiled and even helped me to stand by holding up my hands.
"What secret errand did you send him on yesterday?" Taylor, his father, who was pretending to be curious, shot the question in unison with the queen, who had also grasped the trick.
"You both should not ask me that because I will not tell you. He just mentioned it's a secret, so you should know it's something you shouldn't know." Jaden huffed, taking my hand as he headed to the door.
"He won't be punished for peeping on you anymore?" The king shouted.
"He peeped on me, not you, so it is none of your business!" Jaden shouted back at him.
"Then why did you come here at the beginning? It seems the secret is too dear to you that nothing matters again!" The queen shouted with her thin voice, but Jaden wasn't pausing his pace for anything. He also made sure to jam the door behind them and get into his room before saying anything.
"Thanks for not telling me why you were peeping on me." He let out a laugh, ruffling my hair with his palm and a bright smile.
"Why don't you want them to know about your feelings for Ava?" I queried, and he gawked at me like I had just spit out dung.
"Feelings for Ava? Is that what your empty brain whispered to you? That I have feelings for Ava?" He snickered and wagged his head like I was a pathetic soul.
"If I ever meet Ava and she makes any advance towards me, you will watch with your eyes how I'll slit her throat. Stop having any hope because I sent you to check on her. Any concern I had for her ended yesterday, so wake up from your slumber." He added with a long hiss and a mean expression that frightened me.
"Really?" I couldn't help expressing my shock.
"If you love Ava, then go for her. It is all over your eyes that you fell for her so-called beauty after meeting her. Why not visit her pack and express your love to her?" He shrugged, giggling.
"I promised myself I would make her mine if you rejected her, and it seems you already rejected her even before meeting her, so I will make my move and get married to her. Even if she isn't my mate, I will go for the second way of having a mate, which is by choosing and marking her." I enthused with a grin, moving my tongue between my lips.
"That is none of my business. Now get out of my room!!" Jaden yelled in an unusually angry voice that made me flinch.
"You are....
"On a countdown from two, if you aren't out of here. Don't blame me for what I'll do to you!" He warned me and immediately began to count.
I wasn't stupid to stay back, knowing how dangerous Jaden could be when angry, but I don't get what dragged him into this mood. Had I said something wrong?
He said I should take her if I wanted, and I accepted. What vexed him then?
Jaden is just one of those guys that is hard to understand, and now that his parents already know about these feelings, what if he really doesn't feel anything for Ava? What if he later finds out I let out his secret?
God, my life is really at stake right now, and the only way to end this all is to make them meet.
Aurora's POV
Right there in my room, I felt like a loser for the first time since I came here. It was just so hard to believe it happened, yet I can't deny it.
Alpha Sean really yelled at me and slapped me. Not only that, he also won't want me around him. Just when I thought I had everything well planned, Eric shattered it all. He betrayed me and defended Ava.
How could he do so? As much as I know, everyone hates Ava, including him. The only person who is soft on Ava is Stan, and I made sure he wasn't in the palace at that moment by making the Alpha send him on an errand.
All those efforts turned against me, and now I have no hope of being the Luna or staying close to the Alpha at least. I am also being suspected by him, and he fucking hates me for lying to him.
What a mess have I brought on myself? I must have acted rashly without thinking much. Does this mean I have failed? I can't even kill Eric or do anything to him, as that would clear the Alpha's doubt.
Shit!
I can never let Ava win me. I promised Selene after killing her that I would destroy this pack, which she cherished, and I must do that. She can never have a moment of peace or happiness, even in the world of the dead.
With a deep sigh, I lay flat on the bed, racking my brain for what next to do. Just then, a great idea popped in.
The Beta's daughter!
She was the one who pushed Ava into the confinement then, and it all seemed like she had a deeper dimension of hatred towards Ava. I can make it more intense with some lies. This will make the Beta daughter become my tool to carry out my plans.
Yes!
I need to meet her now. Since I can't do anything to Ava now, I'm using someone else who isn't suspected by the Alpha. The most interesting part is that the Alpha loves Nana and treats her well. This will make my plan go well.
With a squeak of glee, I jumped off the bed and hurried to take my bath. I will be visiting the Betas and poisoning their hearts with my advice.
Whose parents won't want the best for their daughter? Nana will be taken in by the Alpha and her presence will replace Ava. Many will see and treat her like a princess, and she will torture and bully Ava for me.
I just need to help her parents achieve this with the advice I'll give them.
Wow...
Why didn't I think of all this earlier?
There is still hope. I will win.
