The LYCAN King's TRIBRID Mate

I Was Told to Expect You

Ch. 12 / 21 Aug 12, 2025

After calling Alexa for a while and she refused to come back, Andrew faced his wife and second daughter, his eyes flashing in fury. 'I thought we had an agreement concerning revealing this to Alexa?' he asked, barely able to control his anger.

'And for how long do you expect to hide this truth from her?' Amelia asked, just as furiously. 'Do you want this secret to follow us to the grave? She has a right to know and I think you should be thanking me rather than blaming me for revealing to your previous daughter, her true parentage'.

'At least, she didn't need to find out this way. You should have told me you had plans to reveal this to her and we would have broken it to her gently, not in the manner you made her find out!' he said. 'Did you ever love her at all?' he asked. He was beginning to think that his wife had held Alexa responsible for her mother's sins. What the girl must have suffered and she never complained.

'It just happened. I had not planned to tell her but I have to ensure that the future of my daughter is secured!' Amelia said, drawing Camellia close to her side once more. 'She could seduce Prince Hector, like her mother before her did to you!'

'If you had not planned it, then how come Camellia knows about it?', he asked and then turned to gaze fiercely at his younger daughter, How long have you known about this Camellia?'

'Does it matter how long she has known?' Amelia asked. 'The secret is out and she is young, she will come to terms with it. Why make a mountain out of a mole hill?'

Andrew saw that he was not making any headway in trying to get through to his wife and gave up. He did not forget that she had also threatened him with exposing the true identity of Alexa's mother and hence, Alexa herself and this could be dangerous for her. Maybe it was better of she went away from all of them. It would hurt him but at least she would be safe. He prayed that she would find her mate and be happy ever after big that was another source of concern to him. Alexa had yet to get her wolf when her younger sister got her wolf immediately she turned eighteen. Could Alexa's mother's biological constitution be the reason for that?

He decided to go after Alexa and at least explain things to her. He knew she must have a thousand questions about her mother and he was now ready to tell her everything if she was willing to listen.

As he made to walk towards the door, he got a mind link. His Alpha wanted him immediately, there was an emergency. He changed position immediately and walked briskly to the palace, the pack came first! But Amelia had a contrary opinion. She had to drum it onto Alexa's head that she was no longer welcomed in their home.

***********

Alexa kept running and running into the forest. She did not know where she was going, she had no clear destination in mind but she just wanted to put as much distance as she possibly could between her and her family.

As she ran, she found she was crying. 'Oh Moon Goddess', she prayed in frustration. 'how could you allow such tragedy as this to befall me? It would have been easier to endure if my mother had been the legal wife. But the mistress?' she shook her head vigorously as though to erase that disturbing fact. She had always considered her father, a very faithful man. What could have led him to taking a mistress? He had wanted to explain it all to you but you ran off! she scolded herself. Now you are torturing yourself with these thoughts and questions.

'I'd rather torture myself than listen to his belated revelations and explanations!' she told herself stubbornly.

Surprisingly, as she stood panting, trying to regain her breath, a hand touched her shoulder. She jerked and looked behind her startled, only to find that it was Amelia.

Amelia exchanged a few words with her and she ran off deeper into the forest, tears pouring down her eyes.

Her phone rang and it was Wayne. She heaved a sigh of relief. She could confide in him. She liked Wayne alot. He had saved her when her death was eminent. She wanted to go and cry her eyes out on his shoulder.

'Alexa, how was the meeting with your parents?' he asked.

'It didn't go well at all!' she sniffed. 'Turns out I have been living a lie all along!'

'What do you mean, 'living a lie?'' Wayne asked.

'It is not something to be talked about on the phone', she said, sadly. 'When you get back, I shall tell you everything!'

'Alexa, are you okay?' he asked, his voice laced with concern.

'I'm good', Alexa said, injecting a smile to her voice, that sounded tearful to him. 'but do not let me trouble you. I shall call you later, there's something I need to check out!'

'Are you sure?' he asked uncertainly. Sure that Alexa was not okay. 'Alexa?' but what he heard was the dial tone. The call had been disconnected.

Alexa had suddenly, found that the area of the bush she was in looked vaguely familiar. Yes, her feet had actually brought her to the place she always came as a child whenever she felt lonely or maltreated. Coming here had always brought her peace. It had become her special place. At that time of course she had not known that she was being punished for being the illegitimate child. 'Oh, God!' she exclaimed in anguish. Her life had been a lie all these years.

As she slowed down in contemplation, she saw a light shinning at a distance and was drawn to it. She walked towards the light and it kept moving away as she kept following it as though in a trance.

She came to a clearing and saw a hut there. She had never seen that hurt before. She did not stop to think but entered the hut and saw a young man there. She was mesmerized. The man was a silver man. His hair was silver and his eye, blue. He looked beautiful. But what was he doing in the bush? Alexa asked herself.

'You are welcome!' the man who seemed unable to take his eyes off Alexa said. She was very beautiful. More beautiful than his mother had given her credit for. 'You must be Alexa, the golden girl', he said smiling. 'I was told to expect you!'
