Sitting on the bed, I look around the room and watch as Kiara walks in through the now permanently open hidden door. She starts her regular duties of sweeping and dusting after bringing me a tray of food. From what I gleaned at dinner last night is that Alpha Viren kidnapped me two days before I woke up meaning today is the fourth day of my capture. Eating the fruit salad and omelette, I let the Omega do her work in peace while I try to figure out how much of my strength I have gained back. Wolfsbane is our kryptonite, it zaps our strength and in large doses can be lethal.
[Bryn-] My eyes open as a flicker of a voice flirts through my mind. I know this voice, it’s Asteria trying to reach me. Closing my eyes, I focus on the mind link that has consistently stayed closed like a solid door and can feel it open just a sliver. It seems me working on clearing the wolfsbane has paid off as I focus on reaching out to the bond Asteria and I share.
[I am here!] I call back into the link, feeling the block try to push back, but its too late. It has already been cracked open and the more I concentrate, the further the link opens.
[Brynlee?] Her voice is stronger in my mind and I suppress a smile. I can’t have Kiara suspecting something is wrong.
[Asteria, I am here!] I yell back into the link.
[I hear you!] Is her immediate reply, her voice laced with happiness and the sounds of what I can only assume is her crying.
[Are you okay?] She asks before I can say anything else.
[Other than some wolfsbane coursing through me, yes.] I admit, feeling her worry through the bond.
[I have to ask because we have a hunch, but do you know who kidnapped you?] A growl nearly erupts from me as I think about Alpha Viren. It seems my call for help worked as they have been trying to find me since my kidnapping.
[If your hunch is Alpha Viren of Onix Moon, you will be correct.] I hear a sigh from Asteria and then feel the anger come through the link. She is definitely as pissed as I am at the situation Alpha Viren put us in.
[To be honest, many of us thought it was Rune at first until he showed up at Crescent Phoenix. He knows you’re Lilac now. We had to tell him when Quincy accused him of kidnapping you. Well, more like attacked him.] She explains and shock fills me. Rune arrived at Crescent Phoenix and Quincy attacked him. I want to laugh at the situation but stop myself as Kiara looks at me with curiosity. In my happiness at getting in contact with Asteria, I forgot to continue eating. Smiling at the Omega, I finish my meal and set the dish on the tray while Asteria fills me in on what happened.
Apparently Rune has met the two goons that work under Alpha Viren. They were the two who kidnapped me from my home and injected me with wolfsbane. After that, Rune, Asteria, Jett, Gale and Quest came up with a plan to save me. Quincy was against Rune being the one to come find me but what came as a bigger surprise is that Rune said he had a way in through Tristan – his god-brother. It seems fate has a cruel way of connecting everyone together in this large world.
Kiara finishes her work, telling me that Alpha Viren will be here in an hour to spend time with me. I thank her before she leaves and I sigh with relief. I know that I am being watched, had spot the camera in my room last night when I walked around to see what exactly was held in this hidden space, so I know I can’t show many emotions or risk being injected with wolfsbane again, especially when I still feel so weak.
[Brynlee, from what Tristan states we only have a few days left to save you before Viren does something to you.] Asteria answers, causing me to stiffen.
[I know. He has already…touched me.] I reply back with a shudder. Viren had come into my room last night after our chess game, holding me in his arms and kissing me. His hands had roamed my body and I tried to fight him, but he reminded me of our deal. He would not fuck me as long as I was intimate with him in some manner.
[We know. Rune has felt the pain of each moment.] Guilt creeps in me at this. I had experienced the pain when he fucked Tanya but that does not mean I want him to feel the pain as well.
[I did manage to gain seven days of time to get my strength back to escape.] I manage to say, standing from the bed to pace the room.
[That’s a lie Brynlee. You have three days before Tristan is to return from a “hunting trip”. He did not know you were kidnapped when he left to gather his forces to kill Viren.] Another wave of shock fills me at this news as Asteria explains that Alpha Viren has become more of a tyrant than his father, abusing the poor she-wolves under him. I confirm this with how Kiara looked when I met her yesterday compared to this morning.
[Tristan figures that in three days time Viren will force you to mate him and be marked as his forever. It is a way to grow his strength and if that happens, it will be hard to kill Viren.] I continue my pacing as I think about the implications. Alpha Viren lied to me about giving me seven days. He must have thought that I would still be too weak to fight back with wolfsbane coursing through my system. The truth is, I would have been, but something changed in me the day I finally allowed the pain of rejection and banishment to course through me. It’s like my body became stronger from the burning flames of pain and allowed me to heal faster. Unfortunately even I know this change has its limit and even if I were to remove all the wolfsbane from my system in two days, I still need the third day to recover my full strength.
[So what’s the plan?] I ask, stopping to look out the hidden door as I hear a noise.
[We need to know your location first so it’s easier to save you.] Asteria states.
[From what I gathered yesterday, I am in their pack house.] Relaying my location, I explain the hidden room that Alpha Viren has in his bed room. That he has guards protecting the main door making it impossible to leave the room with out being caught and from the slight view I saw through the window, that I am on the fourth floor. I can’t escape using the window as that would cause me to become injured and unable to fight. I can feel her frustration after I relay this information and wait as she thinks through everything.
[We are already on the move to meet with Tristan and Rune. Best I can say is wait it out and check in with me every day but know we will rescue you.] She reassures me. I watch as Alpha Viren walks in with a smile on his face, but after my conversation with Asteria, I can see the cunningness in his eyes.
“Good morning Brynlee.” He greets me, walking over and pulling me into his arms before I could step back. I take a deep breath and tell Asteria that I need to go as Alpha Viren just came into the room before shutting the link off. I feel it humming though, feel it there ready for me to open it when I am alone.
“Good morning, Viren.” I force myself to purr out, hoping to portray myself as a blushing she-wolf enamored with him.
“Did you enjoy your breakfast?”
“I did, Kiara did an amazing job.” I answer, pulling away to look into Alpha Viren’s eyes. He lights up with my comment, using his left hand to play with my hair as he looks thoughtfully at me.
“I am glad to hear that. I was thinking of making her your personal maid once we are mated and you become Luna.” I watch as he animatedly expresses his desire to make me his once more and nod along. There is no way in Hell I would be his but if what Asteria said is true, then I only have three days to figure out my escape.
“Anyways, I came here to take you to my office and spend time with me. I want you to be the proper Luna who is always by my side, who knows, maybe you might fall for me while I work.” Alpha Viren pulls away from me before taking my hand in his. I follow obediently behind him as he leads me out of the hidden room, through the closet and thankfully passed the main door. Two wolves stand against the wall opposite of us as we exit Alpha Viren’s bed room and after recognizing their scent, I confirm that these are the two men that kidnapped me.
“Brynlee, these are Tobby and Garret Steinmetz. They will be your guards if you decide to go for a walk around the pack lands.” Alpha Viren introduces us and I nod to them, deciding not to say anything as I know that the first words out of my mouth would be to curse them for kidnapping me. As if satisfied by my reaction, Viren pulls me flush against him. Before I know what is happening, his lips are on mine and he kisses me with such passion I nearly vomit my breakfast. The kiss ends as fast as it came and Alpha Viren pulls away, smiling down at me.
“Still as sweet as ever.” He muses, licking his lips before leading me away from the room. The walk to his office is silent but after descending a few stairs, I confirm that my suspicions were right and that I am indeed sleeping on the fourth floor.
I make a mental note of the layout from his office to the bedroom and as soon as Alpha Viren is focused on his work while I sit in a sofa with a book in hand, I open the link between Asteria and I and explain the new information. She tells me she will reach out once the plan has been formed and tells me to do what I can to stay safe. The link shuts off and I focus on biding my time while in Alpha Viren’s presence.
