The Dark Don’s Punished Bride

Chapter 146

Ch. 146 / 150 Dec 04, 2025

The battlefield smells like smoke, metal, and the iron tang of fear—fear that doesn’t belong to Aria.

It belongs to the men watching her.

Night cracks open with gunfire as Syndicate convoys tear through the shattered district. Aria stands on the hood of the lead truck, wind ripping through her hair, Damian’s crest blazing on her armor like a warning. Floodlights sweep her face, highlighting the calm, lethal focus in her eyes.

She is not running today.

She is hunting.

“Move on my mark!” she shouts through the comms, voice sharp enough to cut. “Sector One sweeps left. Cut off their escape route. No survivors.”

No one questions her.

No one even hesitates.

These are the same men who once called her liability, curse, weakness.

Now they call her Commander.

They follow her because she is Damian Wolfe’s chosen.

They follow her because she is the woman fighting like she has nothing left to lose.

They follow her because tonight, the Collared Queen is terrifying.

Aria points at the warehouse ahead—Serpent Circle’s primary staging ground. “Jaxon, with me. We breach from the east.”

Jaxon nods sharply, the bruises on his jaw reflecting everything they’ve endured. “You heard her. Move!”

Syndicate soldiers scatter like shadows. Aria leaps off the hood, boots hitting the ground as adrenaline surges through her veins. Every heartbeat echoes Damian’s last words before collapsing:

Don’t let go.

She won’t.

She can’t.

Gunfire erupts from the warehouse windows. Aria rolls behind a pillar as bullets tear chunks of concrete above her head. Jaxon returns fire, dropping two shooters instantly, but more flood into position.

“They knew we were coming,” he growls.

“Then we hit harder,” Aria snaps back, loading another clip.

She pops out of cover, fires three shots—precise, ice-cold. Three bodies drop. Jaxon whistles under his breath.

“You fight like him now.”

Aria doesn’t deny it.

She fights like Damian taught her—strike first, strike decisively, strike without mercy.

But where Damian fought from trauma, Aria fights for him.

“For the Wolfe Syndicate!” she calls through the comms.

A roar answers her from every direction.

The warehouse doors blast open as explosives detonate. Syndicate forces surge inside. Aria runs with them, sliding across the cement floor as gunfire flashes around her. She ducks behind a forklift and signals Jaxon.

“Flank right!”

“On it!”

She sprints forward, weaving through chaos like she belongs to it. A Serpent Circle soldier lunges at her with a knife. Aria blocks with her forearm and drives her elbow into his jaw, then twists the blade from his hand and buries it in his throat. He drops without a sound.

Her hands shake once—only once.

Then she keeps moving.

The facility is larger than expected—multiple floors, catwalks, crates stamped with foreign syndicate seals. Aria slams her back against a wall and breathes hard.

This is not war anymore.

This is extermination.

“Aria!” Jaxon shouts from above. “Sniper on the third level!”

Aria doesn’t hesitate. She lifts her gun, exhales, and fires. The sniper tumbles from the platform with a sickening thud.

“Good shot,” Jaxon mutters.

But Aria’s eyes have already shifted to the center of the room—where Serpent Circle officers are making a desperate last stand, shouting orders that blend into chaos.

Aria steps into the open, unafraid, the muzzle of her gun glowing in the dim light.

“Drop your weapons!” she commands.

Her voice echoes.

Her enemies actually pause.

Then the highest-ranked officer spits blood and snarls, “Wolfe’s little pet thinks she’s a queen.”

Aria smiles—a cold, deadly smile Damian would be proud of.

“I am.”

She fires the first shot.

The Syndicate fires the rest.

Silence follows—thick, ringing, final.

Aria lowers her gun slowly, chest rising and falling with the weight of adrenaline and grief. She wipes the sweat from her forehead, streaking it with soot.

Jaxon approaches carefully.

“That was… brutal,” he says.

Aria finally looks at him, eyes burning with something ancient. “They tried to kill him.”

Jaxon nods. “And now they’re gone.”

But Aria shakes her head. “Not all of them.”

She walks deeper into the warehouse until she reaches the large steel door at the back. Her pulse spikes when she sees the emblem carved into the metal.

The Serpent Circle’s central nest.

Their command hub.

Jaxon stiffens. “If we hit that, we cripple them.”

Aria grips the door wheel. Her forearms flex.

“Then help me.”

Together, they heave the door open.

Inside is a small command center—maps, screens, encrypted servers. And one man in a chair, tied, mouth gagged. He’s Serpent Circle—but high-ranking enough to know everything.

He looks up, fear widening his eyes when he sees Aria.

Jaxon raises a brow. “Interrogation time?”

“No,” Aria says quietly.

She walks toward the man, each step deliberate.

“War time.”

The man whimpers behind the gag. Jaxon watches silently as Aria lifts his chin with the barrel of her gun.

“You came into my tower,” she whispers. “You tried to take my life. You tried to kill the man I—”

She stops.

Swallows hard.

Finishes.

“—the man I love.”

The prisoner’s eyes widen.

Aria pulls the trigger.

The body slumps sideways. Jaxon doesn’t flinch.

“You’re really becoming queen,” he murmurs.

Aria breathes deeply, steadying the storm inside her. “No,” she corrects. “I’m becoming a ruler.”

She steps back into the warehouse. “Burn this place to the ground.”

Jaxon signals the demolition team. “With pleasure.”

As Syndicate soldiers plant charges, Aria pulls out her comm device and connects to the bunker.

“Status on Damian Wolfe?”

Static. Then a medic’s voice:

“Still unconscious. But stable.”

Aria closes her eyes, relief slamming into her like a punch.

“Tell him…” She pauses. “…Tell him I won.”

“We’ll tell him,” the medic says.

Aria ends the call and steps outside as flames begin eating the warehouse behind her. She walks toward the SUV, smoke swirling around her like a crown forged from fire.

Jaxon falls into step beside her. “Where to next, Commander?”

Aria stares at the burning building, jaw set like steel.

“To finish what they started.”

She climbs into the vehicle.

“Take me to my king.”
