The Alpha Triplets and the Rogue

Chapter 320 Back into His Mind

Ch. 320 / 580 Jan 28, 2026

Narah POV

All eyes turn to look at me. It isn't the first time I have been the center of attention, but it doesn't make the task any easier.

Nyx is sitting in the corner of the room, wagging her tail at me. Once again, I cannot tell if she is a figment of my imagination or not.

'Just because I am part of your imagination, does that make me any less real?" Nyx laughs in my direction.

"Shh," I hush her.

I take my eyes off the silver wolf in the corner and look back at the rest of the room. The Golden Wolf is staring at me. I can see the interest building in her eyes. She knows we are alike, and she fears that one day we will be the same. I know the answer, but that is not for me to tell.

I watch as the Golden Wolf sits up up. One of her mates is lifeless in the bed, and the other is pacing the length of the room.

'How many mates does she have?' Nyx asks.

"Two mates," I answer her. "Two mates."

Nyx sits back on her haunches, and a whimper leaves her lips. 'And we couldn't manage to keep one.'

"Hunters are not good mates," I remind Nyx. "Hunters are evil."

The Golden Wolf gets up from the bed, but she doesn't stray too far from her injured mate. "Your mate was a hunter," she says sweetly.

My eyes dart back to Nyx as she whimpers loudly. Out of all the lives we have lived and all the mates that we have had, she liked Walter the most. Before he became the evil monster that he is now, Walter was gentle with us. He didn't care that Nyx was blind or old. He would spend hours running his fingers through her soft fur. It is one of the memories that Nyx holds on to, but it is one that I would rather forget. That is the reason we have chosen to possess different minds.

The Golden Wolf clears her throat awkwardly, and I realize that I must have zoned out again. I widen my eyes in an attempt to show her that I am here and lucid, but the action only seems to make her cringe.

"Why are you here?" She finally fills the silence in the room.

"You were in between worlds for a long time," I remind her. "What did you see?"

"Umm," the Golden Wolf replies. Her eyes glance around the room as if she is looking for someone who doesn't belong.

"Go on, Golden Wolf," I urge her to tell me what she saw in the land of memories. "What did you see?"

"Raven," the Golden Wolf responds. "You can call me Raven."

"Raven," I try out the name on my tongue. I look at the woman sitting before me, and the name certainly suits her. It makes me wonder what her name will be in the next life or what it was in the last.

Nyx is also staring at the Golden Wolf with great interest. Her head is cocked awkwardly to the side. 'She bares the mark of the Moon Goddess,' Nyx informs me.

"Interesting," I reply to Nyx. "The Moon Goddess has not marked one of us before."

The Golden Wolf turns her head in Nyx's direction and furrows her brow. "Who are you speaking to?"

"Ah," I reply. "So, she is not there."

"Who is not there?" The large, attractive mate of the Golden Wolf asks.

"My wolf," I reply, unashamed. "She likes to remove herself from my mind."

"Right," the mate draws out the word before he returns to his pacing.

Ignoring him, I turn my attention back to the Golden Wolf. "So, what did you see?"

The Golden Wolf shakes her head from side to side. "They knew we would be there, at the restaurant. That is the only explanation."

Nyx growls loudly, and I cover my ears to protect them from the noise. "Shh," I try to quiet Nyx but she is only getting louder.

'A rat,' Nyx snarls. 'A rat in the pack.'

"Yes, yes," I reply to Nyx. "There is a traitor among us."

"I thought the same thing," the Golden Wolf says.

"But who?" the handsome mate replies.

'Back into the memory she must go,' Nyx nods her head. 'To look for clues.'

"Yes," I shout. "Into the mind of the wounded."

"No!" The Golden Wolf shouts. "I will not."

"You must," I tell her. "Before his mind is gone."

The Golden Wolf looks back at her injured mate, and tears stream down her cheeks. "He is going to be fine," she sobs.

"There will be more mates," I try to assure her. "And I am sure there were many in the past."

"You speak like I will live forever," the Golden Wolf cries.

"No," I smile at her. "Not forever. Just infinitely."

"I don't understand," the Golden Wolf replies.

"You will with time," I assure her. "Now, back into his mind. See what you missed."

The Golden Wolf's blue eyes sparkle with fear. She doesn't want to look back into the mind of her injured mate. She is afraid of what she will see. If only I could tell her that it gets easier with time, but that would be a lie.

"Why can't you do it?" the Golden Wolf asks. "You look into his mind."

'You can't do it,' Nyx shouts from the corner of the room.

"I know I can't do it," I snap back at her. "I know my abilities."

The handsome mate growls at me, but the Golden Wolf raises her hand to silence him.

"I didn't mean to offend you," she whispers to me.

"Not you," I hiss in Nyx's direction. "My useless wolf."

"Right," she responds. I can tell that she is trying her best to be polite, but I know conversing with me is not easy.

"I cannot go into his mind," I try to explain. "My gifts are not the same as yours."

"She is not going back into his mind," the mate hisses at me.

"No," the Golden Wolf silences him again. "Narah is right. I need to look for clues."

The Golden Wolf takes the hand of her injured mate and closes her eyes. I get up from my seat and walk closer to her. I whisper into her ear as she flits through her mate's mind. "Do not watch the main story," I tell her. "Look for the unknown."

She nods her head, and tears squeeze out from her eyes. A scream escapes from her lips and she tries to exit the memory.

"No!" I shout at her. "You must stay. No matter how painful it is."

The Golden Wolf stays in the memory, but her mate is not pleased. "Let her leave," he snaps at me. "You don't know what she is witnessing in there."

"Do you know?" I question her mate.

"She isn't strong enough," her mate pleads with me.

"She is plenty strong," I laugh at her mate. "The Moon Goddess only blesses the best of us."

A growl ripples through the air. It is coming from the Golden Wolf. Her eyes fly open and she is shaking with anger. Her powerful aura is thick in the air. So thick, that Nyx is whimpering in the corner, but I remain unaffected.

Grabbing the Golden Wolf by her face, I look into her icy blue eyes. "What did you see?"

"Bring me the Beta," she snarls.
