Athena
I gazed at Sebastian, his peaceful form nestled beside me, lost in slumber. His body lay turned over, gentle snores escaping his lips like a baby. It amazed me how something as simple as watching him sleep could evoke such indescribable emotions within me. It was oddly satisfying to watch him sleep this peacefully. A profound warmth surged through my being, embracing me like a cherished secret.
My fingertips itched with a longing to trace the contours of his muscular frame, to caress the curves of his spine and the soft strands of his hair. Yet, I resisted, not wanting to disturb his well-deserved rest. He had stayed up late, providing unwavering support and solace, understanding the significance of my friendship with Aaron.
The incident with Aaron still haunted my thoughts, its bitter aftermath lingering in the depths of my mind. Never did I anticipate our parting to be so acrimonious, yet fate had played its hand, and it had ended in turmoil
A soft, wistful sigh escaped my lips, carrying with it the weight of unresolved emotions.
Sleep would prove elusive tonight—I sensed.
So, with caution, I slipped out of bed, careful not to stir my sleeping own male sleeping beauty.
My footsteps led me to the kitchen, driven by a familiar, growling hunger that seemed to plague me every hour of the day. In these past few days, I had noticed my body changing, the evidence of new life blooming within me. The sight of my small and slightly visible, baby bump both delighted and concerned me.
Every day, my baby's swift growth amplified the risks surrounding us.
Stepping into the kitchen, my eyes scanned the surroundings in search of something that would satiate my peculiar cravings. The desire for a tantalizing blend of sweetness and bitterness consumed me, an odd combination that seemed to ignite my taste buds like never before.
So I embarked on my quest for a suitable snack, I scoured the area, determined to find something that would fulfil my pregnancy craving. After a brief but thorough five-minute search, my attention fixated on a stack of dark chocolate bars. A whole lot of stacks of chocolate bars, I may add.
A smile tugged at the corners of my lips as I realised Sebastian had anticipated my cravings perfectly, ensuring that the kitchen was stocked with everything a pregnant woman could possibly desire.
I eagerly snatched the bar of chocolate, feeling an infectious surge of excitement that compelled my body to twirl with joy.
With the chocolate in hand, I knew it would silence the growling protests of my hungry stomach. Those rumbling noises needed to be appeased, and fast! I needed to calm those rats running inside my stomach.
I hopped onto the kitchen counter. Tearing open the packaging with haste, I wasted no time sinking my teeth into the chocolatey goodness.
Damn! It felt too good.
With just a few indulgent bites, the entire bar was devoured for good.
Unabashedly, like an exuberant child, I dashed to the cabinet and grabbed another bar. Settling back onto the counter, my appetite primed, the moment I was about to take a big bite, I had to freeze mid-action, startled by the sound of someone clearing their throat.
My gaze snapped toward the doorway, instinctively drawn to the sound, only to find Sebastian leaning against the frame. His bare chest crossed with folded arms, tousled hair falling in charming disarray, and his trousers hanging low on his hips, creating a captivating sight.
"What are you doing here? You were supposed to be asleep," I said, my lips parting ever so slightly in surprise. I had made sure that he was asleep when I walked out of the room, so how come he knew I was here?
"Well... shouldn't I be the one to ask you that question?" he quirked an eyebrow, a hint of amusement shining in his eyes.
My lips pursed on their own. "I didn't want you to wake up, that's why I snuck out."
"Well, you know I'm a light sleeper, don't you?" He chuckled, closing the distance between us as he walked over. There was an intriguing intensity in his gaze, sending shivers down my spine with a strangely familiar feeling. "How could you think that I wouldn't know when my precious mate isn't beside me?"
"I am not little," I asserted, struggling to maintain a firm tone when he was so close. His proximity was unnerving, yet undeniably captivating.
"Oh really?" he chuckled, closing the remaining gap between us. His hands settled on my hips as he stood between my legs, a position that stirred both scandal and pleasure.
His breath caressed my face, igniting desires I hadn't felt in ages. It made me yearn to delve deeper into the depths of his mesmerising blue eyes, never to resurface, for that was where I truly belonged. In his embrace. Close to him. Forever and ever.
"It doesn't appear that way, my love," he whispered against my lips, his touch sending my mind into a whirlwind of sensations. His right hand traced a path from the side of my neck down to my wrist, stopping just before my hand, which I had braced on the counter for support.
"Then...then what does it look like to you?" I managed to muster the question, though the strength behind it remained a mystery.
"You look like a lot of things to me," he whispered, his penetrating gaze now piercing through my soul. His hand rose, cupping my face with a hint of roughness. "You are fragile..." His thumb brushed over my cheek in a delicate caress before gliding downwards, his index finger tracing a path to my cleavage. A shiver cascaded down my spine, electrifying my senses. "Beautiful..." A smirk played upon his beautiful lips, causing my heart to skip a beat.
"You are radiant," he continued, his actions surprising me as he suddenly grasped both of my thighs. The touch of his bare hands sent an intoxicating jolt through the layers of my skin, pulling me closer with one swift jerk. My breath caught in my throat.
My palms grew sweaty, and my mind descended into a blissful haze. Desire permeated every corner, clouding my thoughts.
"You are fucking tempting," he growled, his grip on my thighs tightening.
Unquestionably, he was relishing the advantage of my tank top and shorts. The ease with which he could strip me naked and ravish me right there on the counter was evident. And truth be told, a part of me yearned for it.
I staggered on the edge, ready to lose myself in him completely. He held the power to consume me, and I would willingly remain silent.
"And most importantly," he murmured, tilting my head back as his lips trailed from my jaw to my neck, taking in my scent, "You are a captivating enigma—a whole world at once."
I inhaled sharply, the forgotten chocolate bar slipping from my grasp. My breathing quickened, matching the accelerated rhythm of my heartbeat, and my body trembled with a potent surge of desire. His hips were dangerously close to mine, grinding with each kiss he laid on my skin and giving rise to the growing wetness between my thighs.
He was driving me insane.
Once done lavishing attention on my neck, he closed the distance between our lips, and mine parted instinctively in anticipation. But instead of a simple kiss, his touch grew firmer as he took hold of the base of my neck and used his other hand to come between us and rub directly against my aching centre. Roughly over the thin layer of fabric of my shorts.
My eyelids fluttered closed, a soft moan escaping my lips. However, he swiftly silenced me by pressing his own against mine, sealing our mouths in a long-awaited kiss. It was a moment I had yearned for ever since he had entered the kitchen.
He deepened the kiss, his tongue thrusting into my mouth, sending a jolt of electric shock through my body. A moan slipped past my lips, igniting a fire that coursed through every inch of me. My hips involuntarily jerked.
I could feel his bulge poking at my wet heat. I had no doubt that I was dripping down there and he was exactly what I wanted and...needed.
As we reluctantly broke the kiss, he pressed his forehead against mine, both of us breathing heavily. Surprisingly, the pace of his heartbeat seemed calm and steady, in stark contrast to the frantic rhythm of my own, which raced as if I had just completed a marathon.
"Can the chocolate wait?" he whispered, his voice barely audible yet it carried a potent undercurrent—a call to unleash the storm of desires and temptations I had struggled to contain. The barricades were no longer there; He had already broken them.
"Yes, it can. For as long... as you want," I surrendered to his will without having to think twice.
"Then, I suppose you can savour your chocolate tomorrow while I savour mine tonight," he smirked and with a swift motion, he lifted me effortlessly by my thighs. "We should make our way to our room, baby," he uttered, his voice deep and resonant, akin to a wild, ravenous creature. And in his eyes...the prey was me-- The prey that could suffice his hunger.
"Okay," I stammered, my own longing echoing within each word.
Without another word, he guided us out of the kitchen.
