My Alpha's Mark

46 Fuck

Ch. 46 / 206 Jan 27, 2026

Viktor

Kacie was gone.

When I got home and found her missing my heart rate double. All of the worst ideas and thoughts came flooding into my mind first. I didn’t know what to think.

After I linked Beta Jake, he rushed up to my room and the door flew open.

“What’s going on, Alpha?” He asked.

I stood. I started pacing around the room and filled him in. She was gone. My mate was missing.

“A few of the guards were found unconscious. One of the cars is gone. There are signs of an attack but we’ll need a few more on the case to track her movements. We don’t know yet if the assailant brought their own car, left in the car that’s missing, or tried to use it as a decoy,” Jake said.

I was speechless. I needed to pull myself together but the fear of what might have happened to her or might be happening to her was crippling.

“We’re going to need a bigger team to figure out what happened, Alpha,” Jake continued.

She was fucking gone.

I was so fucking angry, it was burning me inside. Angry, worried, and scared. She was gone. Either she was taken… or she had run from me. Would she? I needed to pull myself together.

Jake tried to figure out what happened. No one knew where she was but a few people saw her come and go. There was someone who informed us that they had seen her come up to the room.

I selfishly hoped and prayed to the Moon Goddess. I didn’t know what I wanted to happen I just prayed. Did I want her to have left me and be safe? Or did I want her to have been taken and in danger? Fuck I was sick.

I needed to make sure she was safe.

I needed her home.

Jake was piecing the timeline of her movements together when we figured out the last person to see her had indeed seen her come up to our room. How the fuck did she get out without anyone seeing her?

Fuck.

My fingers itched to smash, to hurt, to kill. I needed to crush something. I sat at my table and peered around the room as Jake linked for help. I recognized a few of the Deltas that came through my door.

They bowed and made their way around the room. They didn’t touch anything just walked, looked, smelled.

I didn’t know if I should be angry or scared. I was a mix of both and I couldn’t deny that a part of me hated myself for caring so much.

I tried to calm myself and think straight. I was choosing to be angry, choosing hate over what I knew. I’d be a fool to question my mate. I just didn’t want to deal with the gnawing fear that was eating at every corner of my mind. I didn’t want to face the tear I was feeling in my chest.

“They could still be nearby,” Jake suggested.

“Link me the moment you know or hear of anything,” I told the Deltas.

A few of them nodded before continuing their investigation.

One stepped forward, “If I may Alpha?”

“What’s up?” I ask.

“I’ve walked around this room a few times and I’ve picked up the scent of a male,” he says.

“What male?” I growl.

“I don’t recognize the scent Alpha. I’ve never smelled this scent on our territory but I’d say it’s safe to say Luna didn’t leave willingly,” he says before bowing and turning back to the other Deltas.

That was 48 hours ago.

Kacie

I hardly slept that night. I haven’t had to wait for him or for what he was going to do to me in what felt like an eternity. My body was on high alert as I lay cuffed in the cold bed surrounded by the unfamiliar surrounding.

The waves were unforgiving as they crashed outside and the crescent moon shined so brightly it lit up the room. It would have been beautiful if I wasn’t being held captive and so the light cast goosebumps all over my exposed skin.

I would fall in and out of sleep but would jolt awake at any and every sound. It was exhausting and nerve-wracking. I had no sense of time and couldn’t tell if a minute had passed or an hour.

When the moon had started to sink into the horizon I finally gave up on sleep. I’d have to deal with tomorrow sleep-deprived and maybe being delirious would help me.

Even though, I knew I needed my strength for tomorrow or whatever strength I could preserve. I knew I wasn’t going to be getting any tonight.

Instead, I settled for watching the moon until it dipped below the horizon and the sun started to peek out of the horizon. I stared in wonder as the light from the sun differed from the moonlight. It made me feel warm.

The birds started to sing and even though I was far away from my mate, imprisoned in my abuser’s room and my skin was being eaten away by the wolf’s bane the world didn’t stop moving. It kept going and life went on.

Ken would be back today.

My nails dug into the skin of my palms. I didn’t want to put my emotions into words but in the deepest parts of my mind, I knew.

I wouldn’t admit out loud that I was afraid of what waited for me on the other side of the door. I feared if I moved or went out I would discover him out there and he’d drag me back to this bed.

I stayed in that bed for hours. Praying that I could preserve myself in these walls and not face him. My mind wouldn’t rest as I ran through thoughts of Viktor and how I could escape. I went through multiple escape plans when a noise pulled me from my thoughts.

I don’t know what time it was when the noise of the lock turning held my full attention and had me holding my breath.
