Lisa’s POV
Ethan sat next to me while pouring wine into his glass that still had a little wine left, after which he lit a cigarette. Before smoking the cigarette, he downed half a glass of wine, then smoked the cigarette and exhaled the smoke into the air. The cigarette smoke filled the VIP room, and to be honest, the smoke made it hard for me to breathe. However, for the sake of information, I tried to endure.
“Do you want me to pour you some more wine?” I asked.
“No need. Thank you,” he replied. His eyes were staring at a television that was showing a porn movie. The girl in the movie was being fucked by several men. I found it quite disgusting. Did all the VIP rooms show that kind of porn?
“Lisa, have you heard the news about my parents and my company?” he asked as he downed his wine.
“Yes. Are those rumors making you uneasy?” I asked.
“Mostly. But, I feel more like a fool who can’t do anything for my family and myself. I’m willing to be used by a woman for love. Perhaps all men will laugh at me for this. How can a man who loves a woman willingly share a bed with another man? Let his woman be touched by another man? I feel like I’m at the lowest point in my life because I don’t know what to do. It’s pathetic, isn’t it?” he said as he took a longer drag on the cigarette, then puffed out more smoke.
He looked pathetic because he loved the wrong woman. If he had stayed faithful to Piper, maybe the story would have turned out differently. It was too late. We cannot change everything that happened. Maybe it was Piper’s destiny to meet and marry Jay because Piper’s life was much happier with Jay, who was faithful and never came into contact with prostitutes.
“No, you’re not pathetic. Ah, to be honest, you look pathetic right now. But, it’s not too late to change things. You can turn things around by doing the right thing,” I replied as I downed the wine in my glass. I had to restrain myself from drinking too much or I would walk out of this bar drunk.
Ethan looked at me with a serious look. “How?”
I put the glass down on the table. “You know what happened to Piper’s twins, right? What mistake has Piper ever done to you or Megan? Did she deserve to be treated so badly? She used to love you so much, but you threw her away when your heart went out to Megan. Now it was time for you to do right by Piper. Told me the truth, then next focus on your life by fixing the flaws in your company. Besides you, no one else can help you and your company. Your mom needs you by her side. Make your father realize that what he is doing is wrong. If he wants to change, that’s great. But, if he doesn’t want to change, ignore him. That’s all you can do right now. Trust me. You will reap good things if you sow good things, too.”
Ethan was silent and continued to stare at me. I cleared my throat and then turned my gaze to the television that was still showing the porn movie.
“Can I trust you?” he asked.
I turned my head. “Of course. My advice is to do the right thing before it’s too late. Piper needs your help.”
Ethan inhaled and exhaled a few times. “Megan is working with a man named Zac. He’s a dangerous man because his world is so different from ours. He’s a drug dealer and a dealer of women to be used as prostitutes. I don’t know how Megan knew him. A few months ago, she came to me and asked me to get engaged to her for the sake of her unborn child. Of course, I was shocked. Then, she told me about him and a little later, when she was drunk, she accidentally told me about her plan to kidnap Piper’s twins and Zac is the one who would be the one to carry out the execution. Of course, I advised her to drop her bad intentions, but she was adamant and assumed I was defending Piper. She left and never contacted me again until moments before the twins disappeared, my men spotted Megan in a luxury apartment downtown. That’s the only information I know.”
“So Megan is involved in all of this? She’s even the mastermind behind it? Is there any evidence of that?” I asked.
“Yes, Megan and Zac are partners. I don’t have any evidence, but I can be a witness,” he replied.
“Without evidence, it will be difficult,” I replied.
“Oh, one more thing: Zac brought Piper’s twins to Palaca Island. But,” he said hesitantly.
“But, what, is Palaca Island dangerous?” I asked, getting more curious.
“Of course it’s dangerous. The problem is that it’s a remote, unexplored island. At least that’s what I heard. Besides, there are a lot of reefs around the island that could cause a shipwreck,” he replied.
“Oh, then how do you get there?” I asked.
“You can ask the sailors and fishermen at the other docks. Maybe you can ask them to be your guide to the island. What else do you want to know? That’s all the information I know. Now you can go because I need a release,” he said as he called someone. He asked the bar owner to tell the woman he was with earlier to enter the VIP room.
I’d rather rush out of here than watch their passionate scene. At least I’ve pocketed of information. Hopefully, the information I get will help Piper and the twins.
Once in the car, I breathed a sigh of relief and Max looked at me in surprise.
“Are you okay?” he asked.
“Yeah. I’m just happy,” I replied.
“Then why did you take a few breaths and look tired?” he asked curiously.
“It’s nothing. Please call Piper now. I’ve got enough information,” I pleaded.
Max hurried to call Piper and later that night, I told her all the information I’d gotten. Finally, my and Max’s job was done. Luckily, all the plans went smoothly and quickly.
Piper’s POV
I told Jay and Tom all the information I had gotten. I also told them about the areas around the sea that might not have been checked. And luckily, the police finally realized that there were two areas near the sea that they hadn’t explored.
Thank you, God. Hopefully, through this information, the twins could be found quickly.
A few days later, Jay and I, who were lying in bed, were startled by a cell phone call. It turned out to be an incoming call from Tom.
The gist of their conversation was that the police had finally found a large warehouse near to the sea area. There were several boats inside, along with two women and a man. The police arrested and brought the three people to the police station and then checked the boats in the warehouse.
