The following days went on as usual, but I was occupied.
Ellis wasn't coming to the office.
It was probably because of the murder that happened in the pack.
He called the kids often, but we never got the chance to talk.
He said he'd reject his mate on the next full moon.

Vee was elated at the thought of Ellis rejecting his mate for us.
There was a brewing storm inside my mind.
I was with David, and I couldn't leave him because he wanted a second chance.
' Do you forgive Ellis for what he did to us?' Vee asked softly.
I was angry when he didn't push her away immediately, but it wasn't his fault. It was the strength of the mate bond.
' I don't know,' I answered Vee.
' But you still love him,' she said as a matter of fact.
' I do,' I admitted.
I tried to teach myself not to love him, but I couldn't stop.
' Do you want to be with him?' she asked gently.

The rest of the day went slow.
I tried calling David, but he didn't answer me.
I was worried about him.
I only stopped working when Jamie entered my office.
" Ma'am, it's time to leave," I smiled at him as I looked up from my laptop.
" I'm tired," I yawned.
Jamie helped me pack up.
When we reached the office space lobby on the first floor, Charlotte walked in boldly beside her were a man and a woman who seemed excited about something.
Charlotte's eyes grew darker yet tricking as she approached me.
" Charlotte," I let out a sigh.
" I hope you're satisfied, Love," she said loudly for everyone around to hear.
Charlotte wanted to cause a scene in my workplace.
Vee resurfaced, eager to hear what she had to say.
" Yes, thank you," I answered. I knew what she meant by that, but I wanted to taunt her.
" Couldn't you leave him for me?!" she shouted.
I noticed the other employees were gathering around us in curiosity.
" I don't understand. You were hoping I was happy, and now you're shouting," I said innocently, making Jamie giggle. Charlotte glared at my secretary with deadly eyes, and Jamie huffed and crossed his arms.
" Just here for the drama," he murmured.
" What is it you want, Charlotte," I was bored of this pathetic confrontation.
" I'm here to warn you to stay away from my mate, Ellis. Are you not ashamed of trying to separate two fated mates?" her voice was desperate and broken.
I squinted my eyes as she dramatically said,
"Pity me. Even if I'm only a mere omega, I deserve to be with my mate,"
I heard stifled gasps and whispers flying around the room. I almost rolled my eyes. She was a horrible actress, it was obvious she was acting with her theatrical gestures.
" We already had this talk, remember?" I reminded her, rolling my eyes.
" Ellis wants to break our bond next moon, and it's because of you. You stole him from me!" Charlotte yelled.
Her eyes gleamed with the tears and sympathy she was seeking.
' I know where I've said those people beside Charlotte. They work at that news company and tried to get an interview from you years ago,' Vee said, and I placed their faces. Indeed, they work for the biggest daily mail in the city.
I glared at Charlotte, the bitch spread lies! She's selling a story!
She wants to stain my reputation and make me look like a villain in the story.

" I'm sorry to hear that... To hear that even after five years, he still hasn't fully accepted you," I was stern. In all honesty, I wasn't sorry.

I took steps closer to Charlotte,
" Why did you lie?" I asked.

" You said you didn't meet Ellis before until that night at the party, but you met him once in a cafe," I told her. It was coming back to me.
Why didn't they realize they were mates then?
" I don't know what you're fucking talking about, Love," There was a slight tremble in her voice.
Something was amiss.
I needed to talk to Luis about all this. He would help me get to the truth.
" You stole my mate from me, and now you're trying to make absurd accusations!" she was losing her cool while I was cool as a cucumber.
" A man who truly loves and wants you can't be stolen. And if Ellis wants to break your bond, it is his decision. I don't know what you're lacking," I shrugged.
" True," Jamie and a few staff concurred.
We already had an audience like Charlotte wanted, so why not use it to my advantage? I wouldn't want to be known as the woman who destroyed two fated mates.
Vee agreed with me. She knew how much people talked in this city, and I wouldn't want anyone to treat my kids badly because of this issue.
" Listen, I left Ellis for you when I realized you were fated mates even though we dated for ten years. He begged me to stay with him. He wanted to reject you, but I told him not to and to get you a chance," I fibbed a little.
Everyone was looking at Charlotte as a destroyer of the relationship.
Her plan to stain my reputation failed.
Charlotte was stunned by how things turned suddenly.
" When I found out I was pregnant, I didn't come back because I knew he would have rejected you instantly," I said. I smiled sweetly at her.
" You bitch," she hissed lowly, but everyone heard.
" Women shouldn't fight for men. It's inelegant. We fight for equal rights in society and better chances in business sectors,"
Everyone nodded in agreement, including the two sibling duo anchors she brought here.
" She's a liar! You didn't leave him for me!" she started to shout.
" Just stay away from my mate if you don't want anything bad to happen to those bastard kids of yours!" she snarled and walked away.
I wasn't going to let her leave after she insulted and threatened my children.
I grabbed the back of her hair and pulled her back roughly.
I wasn't one to cause a scene, but this bitch asked for it.
" What the fuck did you call my kids?" I growled.
My eyes changed from blue to gold.
" You heard me," she snarled, trying to escape my grip.
' Bitch threatened our pups!' Vee growled.
Using my inhumane strength, I hurdled her into the nearest wall. Charlotte pushed me and threw a weak punch at me. I scoffed at how feeble she was.
I thought being with Ellis for five years, he'd teach her how to throw a proper punch.
I slapped her hard across her cheek, a sickening sound came from her, and blood splattered from her nose to the white stainless floor.
I kicked her, and she went flying to the ground.
" How dare you insult my children, you vile woman!" I was growling now.
My body was shaking in anger.
" Let me go, fucking mate snatcher. You and your brats shouldn't have come back!" She shrieked.
Charlotte was on the ground, whimpering as she crawled away from me.
No one tried to help her from me.
They were all terrified as my aura was swirling around dangerously.
I stalked her like she was prey... She was my prey. The fucking bitch threatened my kids. I pulled her up by the neck, my claws digging into her claws.
" Don't ever look or think about my children in your pathetic little life. Am I clear?" I growled.
Charlotte was shaking like a leaf. I was about to hit her again, but I was thrown over someone's shoulder like a sack of flour.
" Let me fucking go!" I hit the man who was carrying me.
My eyes were still a blur with anger, and I couldn't see a thing or process anything.
I felt the cold air hit my body, and my legs were on the ground, slowing my senses came to me.
My eyes were clear as I looked up at the man who carried me. My mind screamed, and my heart raced.
