Lilac didn't blink after the words of the woman. I could see blinding pain in her eyes. She ran her hand in and out of her hair. When she stopped pacing, she stood there a moment, contemplating as she observed the woman carrying her fiancé's child.
I exchanged a glance with Luis.
" H- how?" she finally asked. Her throat tightened. The woman flashed her a sardonic smile.
" Don't you know how babies came to be? Just like you had yours and lost it,"
I almost lunged at her but had to withdraw, knowing how delicate her condition was. I growled at her.
" Well, I'm a dancer/therapist, and your fiancé often frequented my place of work after the threesome we had. Jace and I developed a friendship, and we would talk. One day, he got drunk as he muttered incoherent words, and he fucked my brains out," she said calmly. So they invited this woman for a threesome, and Jace continued seeing her.
Lilac's face paled, and her eyes filled with unshed tears.
" How long has he been cheating on me?" her voice was just below her whisper.
" It happened a few times, and I got pregnant the last day we met, three months ago. I guess he felt horrible for cheating on you and just stopped coming to me when he was depressed or drunk," she said.
" What do you want from me?" Lilac croaked. Her mouth was dry, and a tear escaped her eyes. She wiped it away quickly. Her focus narrowed on the woman.
" What's your name?" I asked the woman.
" I'm Eratu Tonso. I can't have this baby, and I want to abort it," she informed us.
" Then why tell Lilac," Luis asked. He was looking at her suspiciously.
" I need Jace to sign the papers. The stupid doctor requested it, hoping to stop the abortion, but Jace hasn't been answering my calls," Eratu snapped. I felt horrible for my girl, Lilac. She was holding back tears, and I wanted to hug her badly.
" Here's my number. Tell him to call me in case he deletes it," she said. I took the card from the woman, and she turned to leave.
As soon as the woman left, Lilac's knees weakened, and she was about to fall to the ground when I held her.
" Well. I'll call the chauffeur. Our night is ruined," Luis sighed, pulling his phone from his pocket. I nodded and hugged Lilac. She was numb and unresponsive to everything. The car came, and we got inside, making our way to my house. Lilac still hadn't uttered a word, nor was she crying. This hurt her badly.
Once we reached my residence, I took her to my room and helped change her clothes into comfortable ones. Luis joined us. He brought us warm tea. There was quiet in the room. Lilac's focus narrowed to the door.
" Lilac, say something," I said at last. Her gaze slowly snapped at mine, and she gave me a pained smile.
" What's there to say?" she asked, tedious.
" Just anything on this issue, that woman. I know you're hurting, but you don't have to keep it inside,"
" We hit a rough patch, and he cheats on me. Honestly, I want to be numb. The pain inside my heart is unbearable," she croaked.
" Boys are trash. I'm rethinking playing for their team, seriously," Luis said, sipping his tea.
" I concur,"
Her phone beeped, and I saw Jace sent her a message. That son of-- Urgh, the amount of insults I have for him!
" The audacity of this man to even say he loves you when he cheated!" I shouted as I read the message. I was angry at Jace, I thought he was the better man. Why do men cheat on women they claim to love with everything in them?
" We were doing better," Lilac said with a ghost of a smile.
Jace was worried when minutes passed by without a response, so he called again, but Lilac just watched the phone ring. We spent the whole night comforting and trash-talking men while eating ice cream. It made Lilac slightly better.
The following morning, noises from outside woke me. I got out of bed and put on my robe before leaving the room. I found Luis in the foyer, drinking his morning coffee by the piano.
" What's that noise outside?" I asked.
" Just trash I asked the security team to throw away," he answered, and I cocked an eyebrow.
" Trash that talk?" I asked slowly.
" Anything is trash lately," I rolled my eyes and went outside. Luis followed me.
I muffled a chuckle at what I saw. Jace and Ellis were arguing with the guards. Most of them had already pulled out their guns.
" Trash indeed," I murmured, and Luis angled his face proudly towards the two men. I walked closer to the ' trash' and folded my arms against my chest,
" Why are you causing a scene in my house so early?" I asked icily.
" Good morning, Love," Jace gritted his teeth, glaring at the guards who made way for me. Ellis nodded his head in acknowledgment. I ignored him. I didn't want to pay attention to him and leave room for the usual storm inside me to brew when he was this close to me. His scent was - Urhg! I glared at Jace, the cheater.
" Why are you here and causing a ruckus?"
" They didn't want to let me in," he snapped.
" Because you're trespassing on my property," I retorted.
" Love, I want to speak to her. She's not answering my calls," he said. I remembered Lilac texted him a message that she didn't want to see him again. She didn't give him any explanation as to why.
" Don't you have important issues to tend to... For instance, stopping the mother of your unborn child from getting an abortion?"
Jace moved back involuntarily after my words hit him. He seemed confused, so he didn't know about this.
" What do you mean?" Ellis was the one who asked.
" He got some stripper pregnant. She approached us at the club we were at last night and asked HIS fiancé to give her a call because Jace doesn't answer her calls anymore," I gritted my teeth. Ellis' face frowned. No reaction on his face. He was not surprised or disappointed. They are TRASH.
Jace was shaking his head, refusing to believe this.
" The woman's name is Eratu. In case, you might have been cheating with more than one stripper,"
Jace was offended at my words and growled at me menacingly. I glared at him, unaffected by his growl.
" Lilac doesn't want to see you. Get out of my house... Both of you," I ordered. Jace was adamant. He wasn't going to leave without speaking to his fiancé.
" Lilac!" He was shouting her name. I sighed and glanced at Ellis, his focus only on me.
" Stop him from shouting. He'll wake the kids," I said.
" Let us in," he said, shrugging his shoulders.
" Lilac doesn't want to see his cheating ass. I suggest he lets her cool down to talk properly later," I suggested,
" Tell him that," He gave his beta a worried glance. Jace was shouting Lilac's name, wanting to talk to her.
" Knox," I called the head of security, who came forward. " Don't let these gentlemen near that door. Use force if you have to," I said, and turned on my heels.
" Yes, Ma'am," they answered. I had almost reached the verandah when Lilac came out. Her eyes were red from the crying she did, and had bags under her eyes.
" Lilac, I'm sorry. Please forgive me. Please, let's talk, baby," Jace shouted. Lilac didn't look at him.
" How did he know I was here?" her voice was strained.
" He has your phone tracker. I forgot to remove it," Luis said. She glanced over at him, and I did too. Jace did look pitiful, but he wasn't the victim here and wouldn't have my sympathy. He had a good thing and threw it away for a few minutes of pleasure.
" He won't stop. Let him in so that we can finish this," Lilac whispered and turned back to go inside. Luis spoke through his earpiece, and they let them in. Lilac stood close to me as if wanting protection. She looked so vulnerable. Ellis and Jace walked into the lounge we were in.
