*Edgardo’s POV*
Before the two hours had passed, I was up again. When you are in this line of business, you learn to take power naps, not sleep, and that was exactly what I had. That was why our bodies were used to it and there was no need for alarms.
I looked at the time on my phone and confirmed that I had some time to get ready. I gently threw the sheets off me before standing up. I looked back at Penelope and felt something stir in my heart.
It was the first time in a very long time that I woke up next to someone. And it was the first time that a woman slept in my bed unfūcked. I looked down at my cōck and sighed.
‘I feel you, buddy.’ I thought to myself before shaking my head.
Just because I didn’t fūck her, didn’t mean I cared about her. Sure she was beautiful and had an innocence to her that could drive a sane man wild, but that didn’t mean anything. I didn’t have time for her. I didn’t have time for relationships nor did I want them. It was clear that Penelope was one of those women that fantasized about all those things that I promised myself would never happen to me; marriage, family, all that shīt. Things that would never happen to someone like me because of the lifestyle I chose.
That’s why she walked out on me. The woman that ruined me and any hopes I may have had for a family in the future.
My phone vibrated, breaking me from the dreadful memories of my past. Memories that I promised myself to never waste my time on again. But alas, the moment Penelope came into my life, she forced me to question everything.
I looked at the screen on my phone and quickly typed the message, confirming having received the update before walking towards the bathroom.
I set my phone on the countertop before proceeding with my morning routine. It wasn’t long before I was back inside my bedroom, finding Penelope tiptoeing to the door like someone would do the morning after. I crossed my arms and waited to see her face when she found one of the guys outside my bedroom door. Not only was I Capo’s right-hand man and needed security just as much, she was best friends with Capo’s beloved goddaughter. There was no way in hell that we would allow danger to reach her.
She grabbed the door handle slowly, cursing herself when the door creaked lowly. I pressed my lips together so I wouldn’t laugh at her, giving away that I was watching.
She gasped before scowling when she spotted Rocco at the door, arms crossed with a cigarette hanging from his lips. He pulled it out, leaning forward and blowing the smoke in her face. “Vai da qualche parte, tesoro?” (Italian for “Are you going somewhere, sweetheart?”) He questioned her with a smirk as she waved the smoke out of her face, coughing exaggeratedly.
“That’s what I want to know.” I finally said, making her stiffen as her hold on the handle tightened.
She closed her eyes briefly before pulling her hand away from the door and scratching the back of her neck. When she turned around and opened her eyes, her defiance was obvious.
‘Here we go.’ I thought to myself.
“Actually, I am. In case you unnecessarily buff guys don’t recall, Isa has a dog. He needs food or he will start feasting on your men’s testicles.” She hissed, stomping towards me and poking my bare chest.
I rolled my neck, feeling the desire to bend her over and fūck her while spanking her, but that couldn’t happen. At least not now. “Listen, little girl.” I muttered through clenched teeth.
“Stop fūcking calling me a little girl!” She retorted, throwing her hands in the air.
“But you are a little girl.” I teased, making Rocco snort from behind us as he continued watching us while smoking his cigarette.
“No, I’m not.” She snarled, lifting her fists and banging them on my chest, forcing me to wrap my hands around her wrists.
“Prove it.” I told her, tightening my hold as she gasped at me in surprise.
“Well— How— How do I do that?” She stuttered before holding her breath.
“Wouldn’t you want to know?” I teased her again as she huffed, pulling her wrists free from my hold.
“Listen. Just let me go. I promise not to do anything reckless. I need to check on Lucio.” She mumbled, making me grind my molars.
“No. I already told you. And I will have someone else check on him.” I replied as her eyes met mine again in fury while I nodded at Rocco for him to get that going. He instantly pulled out his phone and started typing away, allowing me to turn to her again. “I have to go, but I will be back soon to check on you.”
“Sei serio adesso?” (Italian for “Are you serious right now?”) She spat, grabbing my arm as I turned to get my clothes.
“Do I look like I joke around, little girl?” I asked her with a raised brow.
“Come on, Edgardo. I will stay inside the estate, but don’t leave me locked up in the room.” She pleaded as I clicked my tongue because I didn’t want to risk it. Just because I said I didn’t care for her or didn’t have time for her, didn’t mean I wanted her to get hurt. It would hurt Isa and, therefore, Capo would be upset.
My safest bet was to leave her in my bedroom, since each bedroom had a secret passageway for easy escaping in case the estate was ever attacked.
I shook my head ready to turn around when she dug her nails into my arm as she continued begging. “Please! I like having freedom. I will do anything you say. I promise.” I took a deep breath, ready to snap at her for her unnecessary begging, since nothing would change my mind.
“Fine. Get on your knees.” I hissed, feeling the vein in my neck push forward. It may be an asšhole move, but I knew she wouldn’t follow through with her promise and this was the easiest way to get her off my back for now.
Why couldn’t she just listen? Why did she have to annoy the fūck out of me, making me lose my cool? And at this fūcking time in the morning with all the problems we had?
She gulped, briefly looking at Rocco as her cheeks turned a light shade of pink. “But I—” She mumbled, her eyes meeting mine again.
“You said ‘anything’. Go on.” I told her, pulling my arm free from her now loose grip and crossing my arms.
She took a deep breath, closing her eyes before sliding down to her knees, but before her knees could touch the ground, I yanked her by her arm, making her eyes shoot open in shock. “What the fūck are you doing?” I questioned her angrily.
“You said—” She was saying, but I stopped her with a not-so-gentle shake.
“You don’t ever get on your knees for anyone, do you hear me? Not even for me unless it’s to suck my cōck.” I told her angrily before releasing her with a push.
She gasped, but I couldn’t bear to look at her anymore. I don’t usually snap, but she had pushed all my damn buttons today. I only said that because I didn’t even think she would get on her knees, but seeing her like that angered me even more. How many people have stepped over her to make her think that it would be okay to do that? Why do I fūcking care anyway?
I rubbed my face angrily before turning on my heels and going into my closet. I dressed in a heartbeat, trying to get the hell out of here. I was already on the shīt list with Capo and didn’t need him killing me because I was late.
As soon as I was fully dressed, I walked out of the room and grabbed my gun from the nightstand, placing it on my back without even looking at her. I couldn’t. I knew that one look at her would make me stay longer. One look at her would make me realize that I was only fooling myself and her. One look at her would make me think that I really did care for her, which was impossible, and that was why she was able to make me lose control.
Before I could regret it or she could say something, I walked out of the bedroom, slamming the door behind me.
Rocco looked at me with a smirk, ready to make a snarky comment, but I shook my head. One more shīt from someone and I would be blowing out some brains without hesitation.
I was walking away, but stopped before making the turn towards Capo’s office. “If something happens to her while I’m gone, you will be swimming with the sharks.” I spat and continued my walk towards the office.
*Alberto’s POV*
I made sure to slip out of my bedroom before my angel woke up. I knew she’d give me shīt for the new orders I had put in place, but I wasn’t risking her safety. As I made my way to my office, I dialed Francisco’s number. If I knew my brother like I knew I did, he hadn’t gotten a wink of sleep.
Within the first ring, he was snapping at me over the phone. I let him let it all out, groaning in annoyance. He was the only one that could talk to me like that because anyone else would be six feet under by now. We both put up with a lot of shīt from each other because in our minds we were brothers. Brothers fight on the daily, but we’d kill for each other regardless of how mad we were. Yet we have never had as many problems as we have now.
“Enough.” I finally snapped. “I know what I did and I will face the consequences.” If there are any, I wanted to add, because I was tired of waiting. I was building my shīt list and I wouldn’t rest until I had sent them all to the gates of hell.
“That’s the problem, Alberto. You fūcked up my plans.” He growled in exasperation.
“Well, if you would have talked when you had to. If you wouldn’t have sat me down with those fūckers.” I spat, pinching the bridge of my nose to rein in my anger. “Listen. I called you to talk. In person, of course. How’s your memory?” I teased him, making him scoff.
“I’m not that much older than you, asšhole.” He muttered, but I knew that he had cooled down a bit. That was the thing about us. We could be punching each other one second and the next, hugging like nothing ever happened. I didn’t want to lose that. But I didn’t want to lose my angel either. In a perfect world, I would have my best friend and my angel.
With a deep sigh, I told him the coordinates of where my estate was located.
“It’ll be a bit. You know I can’t risk anyone following me. I won’t put Isa at any more risk than she currently is.” He jabbed at me, making me clench my jaw.
I was about to reply when a knock came at the door. “Come in.” I shouted after covering the speaker on the phone. “I have to go, Francisco. Maybe bring Giulia so she could catch up with Isa while we talk.” I advised, as my eyes met with Edgardo’s.
“Yes, yes. I know what I have to do.” He scoffed before ending the call.
I closed my eyes, placing the phone gently on my desk. “Whiskey?” Edgardo asked me as I heard his footsteps move closer to the desk.
I nodded my head as I massaged my temples. After a few seconds of complete silence, I opened my eyes and Edgardo was returning with my drink.
“What are your plans, Capo?” Edgardo asked me as I motioned for him to take the seat.
“Depending on how my meeting with Francisco goes today, I’m thinking about sending Isa to Miami.” I informed him before bringing the glass to my lips.
“And she’s in agreement?” Edgardo asked with raised brows.
“She doesn’t have to be.” I glared at him as my door slammed open.
“Yes the fūck she does.” My angel appeared at the door with arms crossed, shoulders back ready to give me fūcking hell. Per usual.
First of all, I clearly didn’t fūck her hard enough if she was up and walking already. And second of all…
“How the fūck did you get past the guy I placed at your door?” I hissed, slamming my glass of whiskey against my desk.
“Oh.” She smiled like the most innocent angel to ever exist before raising her hand up to her eye level and flicking her nails. “You may want to send someone to check on him.” She shrugged nonchalantly as I turned to Edgardo incredulously.
“For fūck’s sake, Isa.” I finally stated, rubbing my face yet again. “Go check on Paolo, Edgardo.” I growled, pushing my chair back and making my way to her.
As soon as Edgardo closed the door behind him, I grabbed Isa by the neck and forced her against the door. “Why couldn’t you just stay in the room and follow my fūcking orders?” I asked her through gritted teeth.
“What’s the fun in following orders?” She asked, making me tighten my hold around her neck as her lips parted, allowing her to expose her pink tongue.
She licked her lower lip, looking up at me through her thick eyelashes with her ‘fūck me’ eyes. I groaned internally, knowing that I had to stop thinking with the head between my legs.
“Go back to the fūcking room.” I spat out as she bit her lip before reaching for my crotch and rubbing it teasingly.
“O cosa, Capo?” (Italian for “Or what, Boss?”) She purred, lowering my zipper, but I gripped her wrist with my other hand.
“I’m not fūcking playing. Go. To. Our. Damn. Room.” I hissed, leaning closer to her ear, making her smile.
“You’re so sexy when you’re mad, Padrino.” She smiled, tilting her head to swipe her tongue on my bottom lip. “It makes my pūssy ache.” She whispered, biting my lower lip in a teasing manner. Fūck me. How does my angel have so much power over me?
She reached for my zipper with her other hand, making me hiss. “Angel.” I growled, making her smile. She thought she had control over me just because my desires overpowered me at the moment, but this was something I would not change my mind on.
I squeezed her neck as I licked her jaw. “Your pūssy is my weakness, but I’m still the fūcking boss here.” I declared in her ear, releasing her neck and gripping the back of her thighs, wrapping her legs around my waist before pushing her against the door again. “I’m fūcking this tight pūssy and then you are taking your sexy asš back to our room like a good girl.” I commanded her, thrusting my hips forward, teasing her warm cūnt.
“Hurry up and fūck me, Padrino.” She moaned, grabbing my face and crashing our lips together desperately like I hadn’t fūcked the soul out of her just a few hours ago.
