Alex’s POV
As I was standing before that despicable man, I couldn't help but feel a surge of anger and disgust. How could he hurt Catarina? How could he be so heartless?
Leaving him locked up in that cell was not enough. I wanted him to suffer, like he made Catarina suffer. I wanted to make sure he would never be able to hurt anyone again. She had left everyone she knew and loved because of his disgusting betrayal.
As I walked away from the cell, my mind raced with thoughts of vengeance. I couldn't forgive him for what he did, for the pain he caused to the woman I loved. I would make sure he paid for his actions.
But amidst all the anger, there was still a glimmer of gratitude. Gratitude that I had the chance to be with Catarina and be a part of Nathan and Nadia's lives. Grateful that I could be their father figure, even without the blood connection.
My life had changed completely when Catarina entered it. It was no longer about just me and my responsibilities as a king. It was about love, family, and fighting for what was right.
I couldn't let the actions of a worthless man taint the happiness and love we shared as a family. I vowed to protect Catarina and the twins from any harm that may come their way.
No matter what happened, I promised myself that Catarina would never have to face that man again. She deserved happiness and peace, and I would do everything in my power to give it to her.
I am the king of the werewolf realm. My life has been a roller coaster of emotions, filled with triumphs and heartbreaks. From the day I was born, tragedy had loomed over me like a dark cloud.
My mother, a strong and beautiful woman, lost her life bringing me into this world. Her selfless sacrifice made me an only child, forever deprived of the joy of having siblings. I often wonder what it would have been like to grow up with a brother or sister, to have someone to share my burdens and experiences with. But life had a different plan for me.
After my mother's demise, my father, burdened with grief, dedicated his life to raising me. He was my rock, my guiding light, and the one who taught me everything I know about being a werewolf and a king. But fate was unforgiving, and my father's time came too soon. It was a blow that left me shattered and filled with the responsibility of taking over the throne.
As the new king, I had to keep myself busy, burying my emotions deep within and focusing on my duties. The weight of the crown felt heavy on my head, but I was determined to honour my father's legacy. I invested my time in governing my kingdom, crafting policies and ensuring everyone was safe and happy.
However, there were moments where I needed respite from the responsibilities and expectations that came with being a king. And during those moments, I would venture into the human city on matters of business, my wolf kept at bay, hidden beneath my human facade.
In the human city, I would observe the bustling lives of ordinary people going about their daily routines. I would watch them with a mixture of awe and envy, wishing I could be as carefree as they were. I longed to experience the mundane joys of their lives, the simple pleasures that werewolves had been denied due to the dark secrets we held.
But I dared not show my true nature. The sight of a werewolf in the human city would ignite panic and chaos, endangering the fragile peace that we had worked so hard to achieve. And so, I maintained my disguise, blending in as just another ordinary human and pretending that I didn't harbour a part of myself that was wild and untamed.
As I navigated the human city, a sense of loneliness often engulfed me. Despite being surrounded by people, I felt like an outsider, a creature torn between two worlds. It was during these moments that I truly understood the weight of my werewolf blood, and the sacrifices I had to make for the greater good.
So, meeting Catarina was a godsend, she deserved to be treated like the Queen she is. I would thank my lucky stars that we had crossed paths. The moon goddess had blessed me with Catarina, Nadia and Nathan.
So now I had to find out how he got here in the first place and who betrayed Catarina by informing him of her whereabouts.
I would find out and I would get to the bottom of it. Even if that meant going to her old pack, someone knew something.
