Hiding His Alpha Twins

Chapter Thirty-Four Do you remember?

Ch. 35 / 56 Dec 06, 2025

Catarina’s POV

I push open the door and the doctor comes to greet me. I know instantly that Alex had mind linked him to inform that I was on my way.

“I need to see her.” I said forcing my way through.

“Please, Queen Catarina. You can't come in here; King Alex has made that an order.” the doctor said, and I growled causing him to step back.

“I am the Queen, and you do as I say.” I pushed him out of my way and sent papers that were in his hand flying all over the corridor.

“Yes, Queen Catarina, of course. My apologies.”

Ignoring the chaos, I had caused, I stormed down the hallway. The scent of antiseptic and sterile cleanliness filled the air, blending with the anxiety that seemed to radiate from every corner of the hospital.

As I approached her room, I could hear medical equipment beeping in the background. Taking a deep breath, I pushed open the door, prepared to face whatever lay inside.

As I stood there, looking at her, a mix of emotions swirled within me. Anger, resentment, and hurt battled against a flicker of longing for the friendship we had once cherished. I couldn't deny the pain she had caused me, the betrayal that had shattered my trust. But deep down, there was still a lingering connection that begged for answers.

"Tara," I spoke, my voice barely concealed beneath a thin veil of bitterness. "Do you remember what you did? The pain you caused?"

Tara's gaze met mine, and for a moment, there was a hint of remorse in her eyes. She looked sombre, as if weighed down by the memories that had resurfaced. "Catarina, oh my goodness. I'm so sorry," she whispered, her voice filled with regret. "I know I hurt you, and I wish I could take it all back."

“You remember then.” I said sarcastically. I clenched my fists, the past wounds still fresh in my mind. "It's not that easy, Tara," I replied, my voice tinged with a mix of anger and hurt. "You destroyed everything we had, everything we built together. You stole my mate, my life."

Tara's eyes glistened with unshed tears as she reached out, her hand trembling. "I know," she said softly. "And I can never apologize enough for the pain I've caused. But please, Catarina, let me try to make amends, to earn back your trust."

“Cat. Please let's go.” Alex interrupted, he came storming into the room along with Carl and Sarah.

“Luna, please let's go and talk about this.” Carl tried to reason but I spun around baring my canines and struggling to keep Matilda at bay. She wanted revenge. She wanted blood. There would be no stopping her if she got in control.

“It does not concern you.” I informed him.

“King Alex, rein her Wolf in.” I heard Sarah squeal in a panicked tone as I shoved Carl away from me.

“Please don't hurt me.” Tara whimpered like the pathetic little rat that she was. “I'm pregnant.”

“And you!” I growled wagging a finger in her face, she went deathly pale.

“Don't think for one minute I have forgiven you for fucking my mate. You disgust me! The only reason why I haven't drop-kicked your ass out of here is because of that innocent pup inside your filthy belly.”

Tara, visibly shaken, took a seat across from me. Her eyes were downcast, remorse etched across her features. "I understand that you're angry, Catarina," she began, her voice shaky. "And I'm truly sorry for what I did. If I could turn back time, I would."

As the room swirled with tension and anger, I struggled to regain control of my emotions. The darkness within me threatened to consume everything in its path, fuelled by the betrayal and hurt that had festered for so long.

But amidst the chaos, Alex, Carl, and Sarah intervened, desperately trying to deescalate the situation. Their voices broke through the haze of my anger, reminding me of the consequences my actions could have. I took a deep breath, fighting the urge to lash out, and tried to regain composure.

“Catarina!” Alex pulled me into his arms and calmness immediately washed over me.

"My apologies," I said, my voice strained with the effort of restraint. "I need a moment."

I turned around, deliberately avoiding Tara's gaze, and slowly walked towards the exit. Each step felt heavy, weighted with the unresolved pain and anger that still lingered within me. I knew I couldn't let the darkness consume me.

As I reached the door, Carl's voice rang out behind me, pleading for me to reconsider. "Please, Luna, let's talk about this. We can find a way to move forward."

“No, she's a liar and not to be trusted. I want her out of my sight. I'm the Queen!” I snapped causing her to gasp.

“Carla was right!” my eyes widened at Tara’s sudden admission.

“What did you say?” I flung myself towards her and grabbed her by the throat causing her to choke and tears brim up in her eyes.

Alex pulled me off her and scooped me up in his arms to take control of the situation.

“So that is how you found me?”

Alex looked confused. “Carl, you informed me she had lost memory, it doesn't seem to me that she is struggling to recall any recent events.

Tara placed a hand protectively over her swollen belly, my eyes fell on it, and I growled.

Carla had gone back to the pack and told them, that would explain how Lochlan had found out I was here at the Castle.

It all made sense now!

“I need to go!”

The realization hit me like a punch to the gut. Tara's pregnancy was no secret, and I knew that news of it would spread like wildfire through the pack. It explained why Lochlan, my former mate and leader of the pack, had managed to track me down so easily. The safety and secrecy of the castle were compromised, and I couldn't afford to stay any longer.

Without wasting another moment, I turned towards Alex, Carl, and Sarah, urgency evident in my voice. "I need to leave, now. Tara's pregnancy will put everyone here in danger, especially me."

Alex blocked the door not letting me leave and I was getting madder by the second. “Nobody will hurt you or the children. I promise you.” he said.

“I need to be with my babies.” I growled. He nodded and took my hand in his. “Let me come with you.” he said. I pulled my hand away. “No, thanks I can do it myself. You stay here and I will talk to you later.” I didn't look over my shoulder as I sprinted down the corridor.

As soon as I reached the door of the children’s room I was met with shrieks of laughter and happiness.

“Hello, my precious little ones.” I chuckled.

“Mummy we missed you.” I held my arms out for my twins and beamed at their excited faces.

“Luna Catarina,” Mindy gasped. She looked surprised to see me. I gave her a small smile and kissed my twins.

“Hello, Catarina!” a shiver ran down my spine at the sound of that voice.
