Alessia didn't refuse.
At this moment, the tacit understanding between them seemed very natural, as if they had cooperated countless times before.
Dominic accelerated the car, while Alessia sat in the passenger seat tapping on the computer, analyzing the surveillance footage to efficiently track down the woman.
On the other side,
In the car, Eleanor, lying on the back seat, blinked her eyes and slowly woke up.
She opened her beautiful eyes, looking at the unfamiliar car and the back of the woman who had abducted her, without crying or making a fuss, appearing calm, almost unlike a child.
Eleanor sat up carefully and slowly, her gaze gradually shifting towards the window.
On the dimly lit road, with no street lights, they relied solely on the moonlight and the car's headlights to illuminate the way. The trees and grasslands were constantly retreating, becoming more desolate as they went.
Was the woman who abducted her trying to take her to the countryside?
Eleanor blinked, quickly understanding her situation. She moved her gaze carefully and looked at the woman driving in front.
But she found that the woman had already noticed that she was awake, and their eyes met in the rearview mirror.
Eleanor nervously clutched her clothes and finally lowered her brows and eyes.
Sisca furrowed her brow and also withdrew her gaze.
She noticed when Eleanor woke up, but seeing that the little girl was obedient and didn't cry or make a fuss, she couldn't be bothered.
However, her decision was already made and wouldn't change. She planned to send the little girl to the countryside and have her father sell her. The little girl was thin and small, and wouldn't fetch much money, but her goal wasn't money. Once this little girl was sold there, she would never be able to come out again! She didn't want blood on her hands, and this was the best way to make the little girl disappear forever!
Sisca's eyes flashed with resentment as she stepped on the gas.
"Auntie, I'm thirsty, can I have some water?" came a tender voice from behind.
Sisca didn't even lift her head, refusing without negotiation, "Hold it in!"
"Auntie, I can't hold it, I'm really thirsty!" Eleanor's weak and pleading voice sounded again.
Sisca impatiently furrowed her brow. This little girl was really troublesome, but if she got sick later, she would be the one in trouble.
Thinking this, Sisca freed up a hand, casually grabbed a bottle of water, and threw it towards her.
The water bottle hit Eleanor's leg. Her tender skin showed bruises, and she took a deep breath of pain, but the small figure quickly hid the expression of pain.
With her soft white hand, she struggled to open the bottle cap and drank half of the water bottle, as if she were really thirsty.
Sisca watched Elle's movements through the rearview mirror and relaxed her vigilant gaze.
Eleanor noticed Sisca staring at her but didn't get nervous. She closed the bottle cap of the mineral water and sat obediently. Her appearance was like a fool, ignorant and unknowing, as if she had no idea what she would face next.
The car continued on its way.
Half an hour passed, and Eleanor had quietly finished drinking the entire bottle of water.
Another half an hour passed, and she remained quiet. Sisca's guard against her gradually weakened.
Even the smartest child, when faced with a sudden kidnapping, would be scared.
The car went over a hill and started going downhill.
Quiet Eleanor clutched her stomach and suddenly spoke up.
"Auntie, I need to use the toilet."
Sisca looked up and indeed saw Eleanor holding her hands tightly against her stomach, her cheeks flushed from the urgency.
It looked like she was really about to have an accident.
In this rural place, if this little girl really relieved herself in her car, she wouldn't even have a place to wash it off.
Sisca took a deep breath and threatened bluntly, "If you dare to relieve yourself in my car, I'll kill you."
With that, she pulled over to the side of the road, opened the back door, and roughly pulled Eleanor out.
Eleanor was dragged forward, almost stumbling to the ground.
However, she managed to keep her balance, which only irritated Sisca further.
Sisca kicked her buttocks and scolded, "You little brat, behave yourself and just do it here, don't dawdle."
Soft-spoken words had always been Sisca's protective color, but now this sharp tone revealed her true nature.
She even felt a sense of pleasure in letting go!
Eleanor fell forward, her palms scraped by the gravel.
Enduring the pain, she stood up firmly and stubbornly, walking obediently to the side and squatting down.
Two seconds later, Eleanor's voice sounded again, "Auntie, I need to poop!"
Sisca immediately smelled a foul odor, which made her feel nauseous. She covered her nose and mouth, got back into the car, and scolded, "Get away from here."
"Okay." Eleanor moved back without any complaints.
Sisca stared at her and said displeasedly, "Move further away."
Eleanor moved again, finally hiding behind the reeds.
Sisca finally couldn't smell the stench anymore and breathed a sigh of relief.
Indeed, she was Alessia's child, so annoying.
By now, it was getting light, and the village was getting closer. Sisca sat in the car, gradually relaxing.
She took out her phone, logged into various social media apps, and checked if there was any news about Dominic.
Sisca looked at her phone but didn't find any updates about Dominic, which relieved her.
The journey had been highly tense, and now that they had stopped, drowsiness engulfed her.
Sisca almost fell asleep but woke up abruptly, remembering that Eleanor was still squatting.
She pressed her phone and realized it had been ten minutes, and the little girl hadn't made a sound. Did she run away?
The thought flashed through her mind, and Sisca didn't even care about the stench as she got out of the car and walked towards Eleanor's direction.
"Eleanor? Elle, are you okay? Be careful, there might be snakes in the grass."
However, no matter how she called, she received no response from Elle.
Sisca's expression darkened like a poisonous snake. She pulled aside the reeds where Eleanor had been squatting.
But there was no one behind the reeds.
Sisca's face suddenly changed. The little girl had been pretending to be innocent all along, and she was even brave enough to run away in this desolate place.
But no matter how fast a little girl ran, she couldn't outrun her.
Once she caught her, she would teach her a lesson she wouldn't forget.
"Auntie, were you looking for me?"
Just as Sisca was getting angry, she heard Eleanor's voice from behind.
"Where did you just go?" Sisca was taken aback, turned around to question her, but saw a stone flying towards her.
It was too late to dodge, and Sisca could only watch as the stone hit her forehead.
Everything went black, and Sisca collapsed to the ground.
When CEleanor saw that Sisca had truly fainted, she breathed a sigh of relief and sat down on the ground.
After a while, she crawled up. She had wanted to run away as soon as she woke up, but she couldn't find a way.
Fortunately, Mommy had told her to stay calm in emergencies.
Luckily, she didn't disappoint Mommy.
Mommy should have noticed she was missing by now, right? Even if she couldn't escape, buying some time for Mommy to find her would be good!
After resting for a while, Eleanor got up and didn't run away immediately. Instead, she rummaged through Sisca's body and found her phone.
She tried a few times, but none of Sisca's phone passwords worked, and Eleanor's tender face drooped.
It was really unlucky! It seemed that she couldn't contact Daddy and Mommy with the phone. If her two big brothers were here, they would surely be able to hack into the phone with their hacking skills.
Thinking of Daddy, Mommy, and her big brothers, Eleanor took a deep breath and suppressed the tears that were about to flow.
She frowned like a little bun, went back to the car, and packed the water and snacks into a bag. Then, she walked along the road.
The clever little girl didn't walk on the main road; instead, she followed a path along the hill.
Meanwhile, Dominic followed the route provided by Alessia, feeling increasingly familiar with the path.
"Turn left up ahead, then right past a gas station."
Dominic followed Alessia's instructions and arrived at another intersection, but this time, he didn't hear Alessia's voice guiding him.
