Claimed by the Alpha Prince

The Mark of an Outcast

Ch. 37 / 99 Feb 16, 2026

Mira groaned as she was dragged from the dungeon. Her wrists were raw and bruised from the heavy iron shackles, her steps faltering as the guards pulled her forward. The cold wind whipped against her face, but it was nothing compared to the icy numbness in her chest.

The square was filled with pack members, their faces a mixture of pity, disgust, and indifference. Whispered voices carried through the air, but Mira barely heard them. Her focus was on the weight of the moment—the finality of her punishment.

She scanned the crowd desperately, her eyes searching for Kaelan. She needed to see him, to tell him the truth before it was too late. But he was nowhere to be seen. Instead, at the forefront of the gathering stood Alpha Veyron, Kaelan’s father. His imposing figure exuded authority, and his cold gaze bore into Mira with unwavering judgment.

“Mira,” Veyron began, his voice resonating across the square. “You stand here today accused of treachery against the pack. You have been stripped of your wolf and your status, and now you will be cast out as an outcast—packless and without honor.”

The words hit her like a blow, but Mira forced herself to stand tall. She refused to let them see her crumble.

“This is not my doing,” Veyron continued, his tone harsh. “Your sister has pleaded for your life, and it is only because of her intervention that you are not facing a far worse fate.” He paused, his eyes narrowing. “If it were up to me, you would be beheaded for your betrayal.”

A collective gasp rippled through the crowd, but Mira didn’t flinch. Instead, she lifted her chin, her voice strong despite the tremble in her heart.

“I didn’t betray the pack,” she said, her voice carrying across the square. “I was betrayed. Liana is the true deceiver. She’s the one who manipulated Kaelan, who planted lies and sowed distrust. She’s the one who—”

“Enough!” Veyron roared, his authority cutting through her words.

Mira’s chest heaved, her heart pounding as she faced the Alpha. She could feel the weight of the crowd’s stares, the judgment in their eyes.

“If Liana becomes the new Luna,” Mira said, her voice unwavering despite the tears threatening to spill, “this pack will face doom and the wrath of the Moon Goddess.”

A sudden crack of thunder echoed in the distance, and the first drops of rain began to fall. The crowd murmured, glancing nervously at the darkening sky.

Veyron’s eyes narrowed, but he said nothing as the rain intensified, soaking Mira’s battered form. She stood resolute, her words hanging in the air like a challenge.

The guards pulled her forward once more, leading her to the edge of the pack’s territory. As she crossed the border, the rain seemed to cleanse her, washing away the remnants of her past. But in her heart, the fire of determination burned brighter than ever.

She would prove her innocence. And she would return.
