Chasing My Rejected Luna

Chapter 214 TIME TO GO

Ch. 214 / 228 May 05, 2026

ZOLA'S P.O.V

We were pushing close to sunrise and I swore to myself that I would be gone before then. But temptation kept pulling me back in. He was like my own personal drug, an addiction I wasn't ready to let go of but knew that I had to.

"Mmm." The sound of my moaning echoed across the pond.

His head popped back up to look me in the eyes.

"Keep making sounds like that, and we may never leave this spot."

His words meant more to me than I could explain. I wanted him to be true to them, but I also knew that was a fictional idea. I knew as amazing as tonight was, it could never happen again. Which was part of the reason I had to leave. The other was more personal. I've been doing some digging and I think I have finally found what, or I should say who, I have been looking for. It was a bold move, leaving without telling anybody. But here I was. The decision had already been made. It was time I went out on my own. Create a life that I want for myself outside of living here. Just like my mom chose to do when she left her coven.

"Are you okay?" Elias asked after finally surfacing from my vagina where he was practically trying to suffocate himself.

Not that I was complaining. It felt phenomenal, and I clearly didn't want it to stop.

"Where's your mind at right now?" He asked again when I didn't respond.

I let out a shaky breath, contemplating whether I should confide in my best friend or not about my findings. He was a different type of best friend than Irelyn and I, obviously. But a best friend nonetheless. However, I can't really say best friend now, because friends don't cross the lines that we did tonight. But this was something I hadn't even told Irelyn about. Truthfully, I'm not sure why I didn't. If she had known, then she would've offered to be my travel buddy on this crazy adventure. But this was something I wanted to do alone. Something I had to do for myself. Which meant I wouldn't tell Elias either.

"Zo, come on. Talk to me."

His gentle demeanor after what I just witnessed was astonishing. How could someone go from this aggressive Alpha to this little puppy in a matter of seconds?

"Sorry, just in my head about what will happen after this."

I was worried about what would happen when I left. The person I found, also had no idea I was coming. Which meant so many unknown things. And I was terrified of the unknown. The questions kept racking my brain. Were they crazy and evil? Or were they nice and good? I was taking a leap of faith by seeking them out because I didn't actually know them. However, there was also another pressing issue which was verified tonight. Something I already knew, but didn't want to fully admit. I was madly in love with Elias Hendricks and living on the opposite side of the country could never change that. Which scared me more than the unknown ever did.

Elias let out a huff, catching my attention once more, before speaking.

"We move on."

His hand involuntarily went straight to his head, rubbing his hair like he did.

"We move on." I repeated.

I meant my words differently than he did. I won't ever be able to move on after this. But I will be moving. Moving onto a new life. One far away from here.

"The sun is peaking on the horizon." He pointed out, nodding up to the sky.

I looked up to see the beautiful orange and red colors peaking out. A howl ripped through the air, telling me the early birds were starting to wake up.

"We have to go." I said while jumping up quickly, gathering my clothing articles that were scattered around the pier.

"They won't come this way. Nobody comes here." Elias replied, all too calmly.

I snapped my bra in place before pulling my underwear over my asscheeks.

"Go on, get dressed." I urged him urgently.

"You're the only one here they'd question about being nude." He replied with a chuckle.

"That's not funny Eli, we cannot get caught." I said while pulling up my sweats.

"I liked them better off than on."

"Shut up."

"Zo, chill. If we get caught, then we get caught. What exactly are they going to say to their King?"

I pulled my shirt over my head before glaring at his stupidity.

"I'm leaving now." I said bluntly before grabbing my shoes and starting to walk up the pier.

"If you're scared someone will find out, then you should have gotten back in the pond before heading home." He must've read the confusion on my face because he spoke again. "Baby, my scent is on every inch of your body."

I could feel my eyes nearly bulging from their sockets.

"Not funny."

"Not trying to be." He responded as he caught up to me.

"Can you put your shorts on at least?"

"Nah. I like the breeze on my ballsack."

After that I gave up on trying. There was no point in arguing with him. He was more bull-headed than a bull himself.

We managed to get back to the pack house undetected. Thank the high heavens.

"Can you meet me in the same place at the same time, tonight?" He asked when he opened the back door.

"No, we agreed that this would only ever be once."

"More like four, but who was counting?"

I blushed at his comment but managed to compose myself fairly fast.

"Bye, Eli."

"Never bye, just see you later."

He grabbed me by the hips, pulling me to his chest, hugging my body tightly against his.

"I love you, Zo."

My head moved so fast in order for me to look at his face that I thought I would get whiplash.

"You… You do?" I stuttered out.

His hands moved from my hips to my face. Gently tilting it up more in order for me to look him in the eyes. He smiled his gorgeous smile before his lips pressed against my forehead. I closed my eyes in response, wanting to take in every detail so that I could think back on it later on.

"Always," he whispered.

I was working on steadying my fast-paced heart when, suddenly, the spot that was once warm, was now cold. I slowly opened my eyes to see. But he was gone, and I was left all alone again.

"We move on." I repeated our words before turning to go get into my car.

It was time to go. I wasn't sure this was the correct move, but I had to do something and this just so happened to land in my lap when I needed it most. I grabbed my keys and started the engine. I let out a breath while pulling down the gravel driveway. I looked in the rearview mirror one last time. Memories of my life flashing before my eyes, helping me smile when I felt completely depressed.

"I love you too. Goodbye." I whispered as I pulled out my charmed necklace.

I placed my necklace around my neck. Fully aware that no matter how hard they looked for me, they'd never be able to find me. The only way I could be located was if I wanted to be. And as of right now, I didn't want to be found.
