Starbucks.
As it was still morning, the café wasn't crowded. Samantha quickly spotted the man sitting by the window, wearing silver-rimmed glasses. He held a bouquet of roses, had short hair, a slender figure, and was dressed in a white shirt and black trousers, giving the impression of fragility, like someone who might run away with the wind.
When Samantha saw him, he also noticed her. A hint of amazement was clearly visible in his eyes. Adjusting his tie, he stood up to greet her, offering the bouquet of roses, "This is a gift for our first meeting. I didn't know what women like, and the salesperson said women like roses, so I bought roses, hoping you'd like them."
Samantha did not reach out to take the roses. Instead, she asked tactfully, "Do you know the meaning of roses?"
The man shook his head.
Samantha smiled and said, "The meaning of red roses is passionate love."
Hearing this, the man blushed and immediately retracted the flowers, apologizing, "I'm sorry, I didn't know that giving roses had that meaning. I'll pay more attention next time."
Samantha shook her head nonchalantly.
The man placed the roses on the table and pulled out a chair for Samantha. She took her seat, and he sat opposite her.
Introducing himself, he said, "My name is Aaron Porter, twenty-nine years old. I started my own business last year and co-founded a software development company with my friends."
Samantha continued her introduction, "My name is Samantha Miller, twenty-three years old. I believe the matchmaker must have told you; I have two children."
Aaron nodded and smiled gently, "I know! I think it's not a big deal. Everyone has a past. As long as the person is outstanding enough, I don't see it as a problem."
Samantha was slightly surprised.
She couldn't believe that there was a man who didn't mind her having children. Whether it was true or not, she had at least a favorable initial impression of this man.
Aaron seemed to be a very humorous and witty person. He was talkative, quickly breaking the ice, and the atmosphere became relaxed and pleasant.
Little did they know, a low-key luxurious Maybach quietly parked on the side of the road.
Sitting in the driver's seat, Ethan, through the glass, saw Samantha laughing and chatting with a strange man. A raging storm of dark clouds enveloped his eyes, and the surrounding air suddenly turned cold.
This damned woman actually came here for a blind date.
After claiming to like him, she ran out today to cozy up with another man.
An indescribable anger surged in his chest, wishing he could directly kill the man sitting across from Samantha.
As they continued chatting, the man suddenly grabbed Samantha's hand...
Staring fiercely at their joined hands, Ethan's face was covered in a dense cloud of gloom, and his eyes emanated a strong killing intent.
He couldn't bear to watch any longer.
Stepping on the gas pedal, the Maybach, like a released beast, swiftly shot into the continuous flow of traffic.
Anyway, it had always been her one-sided wish.
He didn't like her.
If she loved blind dates, she could go on blind dates.
If she loved sleeping with other men, she could sleep with other men.
He didn't care.
From start to finish, the only person he ever liked was Jessica Turner.
Even though he kept telling himself that, however, scenes of what he had just witnessed in the café kept flashing in his mind incessantly.
Damn.
She actually smiled so sweetly at another man.
Even let another man touch her hand.
The more he thought about it, the angrier he became.
Rage replaced reason.
In a gap at the traffic light, he violently turned the steering wheel, changed direction, and arrived at the cafe with the fastest speed. He illegally parked the car at the cafe's entrance and stormed toward Samantha's table.
Samantha, who was chatting happily with Aaron, suddenly felt a sky-shrouding coldness and anger rushing toward her. She shivered involuntarily and turned to look.
Seeing Ethan's face, which was comparable to the King of Hell, her body slightly stiffened, and she subconsciously asked, "Why are you here?"
Observing that she was calm and unruffled, showing no sign of panic, Ethan's chest felt like it was about to explode with anger.
He raised an eyebrow, coldly asking, "Blind date?"
Samantha nodded, showing an expression that said, "Yes, I'm on a blind date. Now, get lost."
Seeing her composed response, Ethan's anger intensified.
Noticing his anger, Aaron curiously asked Samantha, "Who is he?"
Samantha calmly introduced, "He is my boss!"
Aaron nodded in understanding and politely extended his hand to Ethan, "Hello, I'm Aaron Porter, the blind date partner of Sammie."
Hearing his address, Ethan's face, as handsome as it was, turned chillingly grim.
Sammie.
He never called her that.
Ethan grinned, a smile that made people's hair stand on end.
Samantha felt an ominous premonition rising in her heart.
Soon, this premonition turned into reality.
Ethan suddenly bent down, pressed the back of her head, and unexpectedly kissed her on the lips. The fragrance of lipstick instantly filled his nostrils.
Affectionately leaning his forehead against hers, he used a voice filled with extreme ambiguity, "My dear, it seems you were not satisfied with my performance last night, so today you secretly went on a blind date."
Boom!
Samantha's mind felt like something had exploded.
She was completely dumbfounded.
Ethan suddenly found it amusing to tease her like this and continued, "It's okay; tonight, I'll make sure you're satisfied."
A flush of red spread from Samantha's face to the tips of her ears.
She looked like a boiled shrimp, thoroughly red.
Aaron's eyes widened like bells, realizing something. His ears turned crimson, and he hastily stood up, "I'm sorry, I didn't know you had a boyfriend. Since your boyfriend is here, I'll leave..."
Due to his panic, he accidentally hit the table with his thigh.
He hissed in pain but paid it no mind, lowering his head and hurriedly leaving.
Seeing his goal achieved, Ethan pouted, tossed the rose on the table into the nearby trash can, and was about to leave when Samantha grabbed his arm.
Ethan turned to look at the small hand holding onto his arm and raised an eyebrow, "What's this? Did I ruin your blind date, and now you want to settle the score?"
Samantha never wanted to go on a blind date in the first place.
Since it was ruined, she found it convenient.
She wasn't genuinely angry. On the contrary, she intentionally put on an angry expression, "How do you plan to compensate me?"
Ethan misunderstood her words, his pupils shrinking intensely, "How much money do you want?"
Samantha shook her head, stood up, reached to hook her arm around his neck, tiptoed, and planted a kiss on his thin lips, "I don't want money. I just want you to compensate me with a boyfriend!"
Ethan dangerously squinted his eyes.
This woman still wasn't giving up.
She was still thinking about finding a boyfriend.
Did she really lack men this much?
Samantha smiled wickedly, "I think you're not bad!"
Her words lightly brushed over the cold and rigid core of Ethan's heart, making it beat fiercely.
Samantha continued, "Look, both of us have experienced having a child out of wedlock. You're twenty-eight, and I'm twenty-three. You stand at 1.89 meters, while I'm 1.68 meters tall. It's like we're perfectly matched for each other.
