Natalie
I lean back in my seat. I'm on a private jet, drinking champagne while Emma is to travel with Carmen and Frank. I miss my daughter, but... I don't think she would appreciate what might happen on this flight.
My eyes find Noah.
He is talking to a female private flight attendant. She is batting her eyelashes at him, making my mood turn sour. I can hear her giggle like a little girl through the walls, and when she places her hand on Noah's chest, I swallow bitterly.
I know that Noah is getting married to me. I trust him, but that flight attendant blushing and giggling—fucking giggling at him? Well, I sure as hell don't trust her.
She reminds me of that waitress at the Vietnamese restaurant. Then again, most girls react this way to Noah. Even if they aren't attracted to him, they want his money, which makes him alluring in their eyes.
An already handsome man turns into the hottest thing on earth when you realize he is a billionaire...
Noah enters the flight, and I watch him take a seat across from me. He is wearing a smile—what a fool. He doesn't even realize the flight attendant plans to steal him away from me.
I realize it might be the alcohol talking, yet I have to repress the urge to hiss when the flight attendant walks past us. My eyes narrow, and Noah arches a dark eyebrow my way.
"Why are you glaring at Sofia?" Noah appears amused. "She is the flight attendant who will serve us drinks and food tonight. You better not get on her wrong side because she is good at what she does, and finding a new private flight attendant is such a hassle."
I take a deep breath. "Sofia likes you."
Noah picks up a glass and fills it with wine. There is a slight entertained curl to his lips. "I like that you're already getting territorial and possessive of me, Natalie. Since I'm the jealous type myself, it helps that you share the same flaws like me."
"I'm not the jealous type," I glare at him while sipping my champagne. The plane is rolling now. "But Sofia was definitely planning to kidnap you from our wedding."
Noah snorts and shakes his head. He mumbles something and then faces me with his pearly whites caught in a smile. "Honey, Sofia is a lesbian—she giggled outside because she had just gotten engaged to her girlfriend. But for the record, she thinks you're beautiful. Perhaps I should be worried about her stealing you away from me?"
I freeze and hold my breath. I'm so dumb. My jealousy took hold of me, and now Noah is laughing at me. He might not be making a sound, but those eyes roam over me, definitely entertained.
I lift my nose into the air, determined to pretend my little moment of insecurity never happened. "Forget I said anything."
"Okay."
"But she was giving you extra attention, though... In fact, most women give you fuck-me eyes."
He simply smiles.
It makes me mutter. "It's not funny, Noah."
"I'm not laughing at you, Natalie," Noah mocks me with a sexy gleam in his eye. "I'm listening here."
I sigh. "We can drop the subject..."
Noah regards me with his intense eyes. "You have no reason to be jealous, Natalie. I'm not going anywhere."
I blush. "Let's just talk about something else."
"My jealousy is unbearable when it hits me," Noah keeps staring at me, letting his gaze slide down to my revealing dress. His eyes linger on my breasts, making heat spread between my legs. "Other men drool over you all the time. You're gorgeous, Natalie, especially when you wear dresses to show off your assets."
My eyes swell wide at the compliment, and suddenly, I don't know what to say next. However, Noah doesn't seem bothered by my silence and smirks at me in that "I get what I want" kind of way.
"Once we are up in the air, I will remind you why we will get married. You've forgotten since you worry that flight attendants might steal me away from you."
I narrow my eyes. "It's perfectly possible."
"Please, there is a bigger chance that some other bloke comes along and tries to steal you from me. Alaric was close."
I blink. Was that resentment in Noah's tone? He seldom shows his jealous side, even though he claims he has one. But right now, there are definitely embers in his eyes.
"Alaric and I are over. You won't have to worry about him anymore. We are getting married, Noah. I love you—"
"The same applies to you, yet you think I might be distracted by some flight attendant," Noah interrupts me. His smile is dark. "So once I'm out from this seat, I will mark your neck and remind you who you belong to, Natalie. You're mine, and people need to know."
I laugh out loud. "Noah! I'm going to be wearing a dress—you can't leave hickeys on my neck! People will see them!"
"And?"
Oh-my-god, Noah is serious!
I panic and grip the armrest with my fingers turning white. Fear is circling within my chest, along with hysteria.
I'm in so much trouble. How do I convince Noah not to mark my neck? I DON'T WANT TO HAVE HICKEYS ON MY WEDDING DAY! What am I supposed to do, wear a fucking scarf?!
"And it wouldn't look good!" I'm trying not to shake in my seat when Noah locks those eyes on mine. I gulp. "Come on, we can talk about this! We are a couple and should talk things out!"
"Oh, so now we can talk things out?" Noah asks. His face is incredibly sexy and dark. "A second ago, you wouldn't listen to me when I said I wouldn't leave you for a flight attendant. Clearly, you need convincing that we belong together."
A shudder slips down my spine. "No-no-no, I know that you're my future husband! There is no doubt about it! I was kidding! You don't have to mark my neck!"
Noah narrows his eyes with a playful smile curling his lips. The flight is straightening, and he slows and takes off his seatbelt. My eyes widen when he stands up to tower over me.
"Well, well, well..." Noah walks over to me and grips my face. My heart slams against my ribcage significantly when he dips his head. His lips brush my neck before he speaks again. "Give me one good reason I shouldn't nibble your neck, Natalie. You're so close, and... I want to leave my marks all over you."
