THE Next EVENING
I stood at the balcony of my room, looking at the stars all the everything that transpired between Hayden and I are the party last night came rushing back.
"You broke me, you ruined me, I despise you." Those words echoed in my head, no matter how i tried to shut it out it refused to go away
Did i really break and ruined Hayden? But he doesn't look like someone who is broken and ruined.
He looked like someone who is strong.
Why did those words keep on tormenting me since last night?
Why am i getting affected by those words?
Those and many unanswered questions kept on flooding my mind .
I was suddenly pulled out from the thought by the buzzing sound of my phone, i picked the phone up and saw that it was a message from Harry. I opened the message and began to read through it
📨Tessa, how could you betray me? I heard you are getting married. I thought you loved me and what we have is special. If i can't have you no one can?
The text message reads
I scoffed out loud and began replying the message
💬 Harry what we had is over, I am getting married. You can't scare me with your little.threat. I texted back tossing the phone on couch
"Girlfriend aren't you going to the school reunion?" Joan asked sitting down on one of the chair in the balcony
"Don't know, i haven't thought about it." I replied sincerely
"You have got to go because our classmates are expecting you and the party won't be interesting without the queen in attendance." She rapsed
"Okay fine!" I sighed
"What are you going to do when everyone begins to asked how you and Hayden ended up falling in love and getting engaged?"
"Because we all know that you guys friendship crashed before you left for London." She said out of the blues
"Don't worry i can pull everything off and i know Hayden can as well because he is a good actor."
"I will make everyone believe that we are in love and happy with each other." I said smiling
"Why don't you call him and asked him to go together with you to the reunion?" She questioned
"No, never!!"
"You need to ask him so that you both can attend the reunion party together to avoid creating suspicions."
"Tess, just put your pride aside and asked him." She said trying to convince me
"I need to use the restroom, i am pressed." She said walking into the room
I leaned back on the chair face flat staring at the sky, wondering if i should call or text him to go with me to the reunion.
Lost in my thoughts, the blaring ringing tone of my voice distracted me, i checked the caller ID and saw that it was an unknown number
"What do you want?" I asked the moment i picked the call thinking it was Harry.
"I will ignore your rudeness Tessa, i know that you are aware of the reunion this weekend, every single person knows that we are engaged.'
"I want you to come with me to the reunion, i don't want anybody or bloggers creating rumors about us." He said
"Okay fine." I agreed
"Make sure you behave yourself and pretend that we are so in love with each other and happy together even if the sight of you irritates me.
I will pick you up by six pm this Saturday and don't keep me waiting." He said in commanding tone
"You are such an arrogant and annoying jerk." I blurted out my thoughts without knowing
"What did you say?" He asked
"I will just act like the most happy and fulfilled woman even if being stuck with you bloody sucks." I said
"I will take that as a compliment." He replied
"You know what, i have a stressful day and i need to go to sleep now, wear a red expensive designer suit that will match with my red gown because i want everyone's attention to be on the both of us and i want them to say will are a perfect couple and we are made for each other."
"Good night future husband and think about the moment that we will become man and wife." I teased disengaging the call before he could reply back
Breathing heavily, i got up from the bed and began pacing around.
He thinks because i agreed to this freaking marriage he now has the right to speak to me in a rude and arrogant manner?
"Make sure to behave yourself." I mimicked him
Such a arrogant jerk who now thinks that he is important.
"Stop pacing around Tessa, you are making me feel dizzy." Joan voiced out
"How long have you been there? When did you leave the bathroom? Why did you sneak on me?" I asked bombarding her with questions
"What is making you angry?" She asked ignoring my questions
"Who else but that prick Hayden Leo Anderson, I just feel strangling him with my bare hands." I groaned
"If you strangle him who are you going to have a grand wedding with?" She asked
"Jerry of course." I joked entering my room with Nicole trailing behind me
"Not my boyfriend, don't you dare." She said laughing
"I can go for you, if you don't want me to go for Jerry." I jokingly said
"Thanks but no thanks! I don't do women, beside Jerry will murder the both of us." She said making funny faces
"You can start it now with me, perfect idea right and Jerry will understand." I teased
"Not interested dear friend, but if i decide to date a woman not my best friend because it will look odd." She said laughing
"I won't break your heart when we get married." I joked
"Don't you dare strangle Hayden because you are going to have a grand wedding with him." She said giggling
"Warn him not to get on my nerves." I said
"What do you think about this dress?" I asked her showing her the dress i picked from my closet
"Perfect. Is it for the reunion?" She asked and i nodded
I picked up my phone, took shots of the dress and sent to Hayden.

"Is Jerry going with you for the reunion?" I asked and she nodded
"Let's go to bed Sweetheart i need to look presentable for the party." I said going into the bathroom to wash up

THE REUNION

I wore a red strapless dress with a matching golden colour sandals hill, a diamond necklace, diamond earrings, bracelets and Rolex watch.
Picking up my golden colour purse, I slid my phone, my debit card and some cash.
"Baby, your ride is here." Mom shouted from downstairs
I got outside and saw a black limousine Hayden came with. He chauffeur opened the of the limousine for me and i got in and sat down far away from each other.
Hayden eyes was glued to his phone ignoring my presence.
"Drive." He commanded the chauffeur
"We are here sir." Came the deep voice of the driver the moment he pulled over in the parking space of the reunion venue.
"Don't get off the car yet." He instructed as he got off the car from the other side
I heard the door of the car opened and Ethan stood before me holding the car door for me to come out, he stretched out his hand which i took without hesitation.
He had his hand wrapped possessively around my waist as we walked into the hall.
"Behave Tessa and don't try anything funny." He whispered as we entered the hall fully
"Don't tell me what to do." I sneered

The moment we stepped into the hall, all eyes darted towards our direction and we could hear cheers and ovations from our classmates.
I noticed some guys who had crushes on Tessa throwing glare at me for being the future groom of their crush.
Who cares? As long as i have their queen with me i don't care about their glares
"You are one lucky dude Hayden, you got the hottest, popular and pretty queen Tessa to be your bride." One of our classmates Louis said and i faked a smile
"Here comes the latest couple, our queen and her groom. Give it up for Queen Tessa and her groom Hayden." Mark one of our classmates who was always all over Tessa shouted clapping his hands
"Typical Mark" Tessa whispered shaking her head
"I envy you Hayden, you got my dream woman, cheers to that." He said raising his wine glass and cheering
"Of all people why did she choose you huh!" He asked
"Because he is the one my heart beat for." Tessa answered with a smile and he chuckled
Phew! That wasn't surprising Mark is always this way.
I spotted my friends Lucas and Gerald along with their dates and they gave me a creepy smile. Both i and Tessa walked to them to share their table ignoring Mark who wasn't done displaying his drama.
"You two make a perfect couple." Lucas teased the moment we sat down
"Becareful Hays if you want to leave here alive because almost all the guys are sending you death glare." Gerald warned
"Whatever, they can't do anything to me." I said picking up the glass of wine which the waiter served me
"Tess, you look as lovely as ever." Niel complimented her
"I know, I never fail in that aspect." She bragged sending a wink to him which he returned with a smile
"So Lucas who is the lady beside you?" She asked
"She is my secretary." He replied
"I thought as much, she doesn't look like your type." She said nonchalantly and i saw hurt crossed across the lady face
Tessa was about standing up when i pulled her back and wrapped my hand around her waist.
"Don't you think of going anywhere, you are stuck with tonight and for life after our wedding." I whispered
"Whatever." She whispered back faking a smile
"Who do we have here? Tessa Cooper and Hayden fucking Anderson?" A deep husky voice said behind us, we both looked back and came face to face with Dwayne.
"Hi darling." He said waving at Tessa who ignored him
"Oh! The rumors are true, you both are engage for real, but how is that possible?" He asked
"Wait let me guess, your parents are friends so they made a deal for you guys to get married in order to strengthen their friendship." He said smirking
"Love happened Dwayne, we fell in love." I said smirking at him
"I don't buy that, i can't believe that the hottest, popular and beautiful queen of our highschool fell in love with a ex creepy nerd." He said
"Believe what you want Dwayne, but we are both getting married."
"Don't worry I will send an invitation to you." I said
"Whatever." He scoffed glaring at me
"You aren't married yet so I still have a chance with Tessa, right darling?" He asked turning to face Tessa who was busy sipping from her wine while enjoying the whole attention and drama
"You don't stand a chance Dwayne, i am engaged and i am not leaving Hayden for another man not even if the man is you." She replied without an expression
"I bet this is an arranged marriage because you two weren't in good terms before Tessa went to London to study." Dwayne yelled to the hearing of everyone
"And beside the Tessa i know won't stoop so low to marry someone like you even if you have changed you are still not her type of man." He mocked
"Stop blowing things out of proportion, why will i get married to Hayden if i don't love him? Stop saying that you know me because you know nothing about me, i love Hayden and everyone can see that." Tessa seethed trying to control her anger.
"You guys are faking it, i can see right through your acts." He said
I was about replying him when i felt Tessa's hand pull me closer and her lips crashed on mine with her one hand holding my neck and the other hand cupping my face.
Her kiss was sweet, slow and intense at the same time, as much as i wanted to push her away her kisses were different.
It was pure, it felt like i was kissing the calm, sweet and caring friend that i once had.
It was so different from all the girls that i have kissed before.
When we broke the kiss almost everyone cheered us, some threw compliments of how lovely we are. Lucas and Gerald threw me a teasing smile.
But majority of the boys were sending death glares at me for kissing their queen and biggest crush.
"I just did that to get back at him so don't let get to you." She whispered
I looked at Dwayne and saw him balling his fists while glaring at me. If eyes could kill i will be dead right now with the way Dwayne and most of the guys were glaring at me.
"That kiss means nothing to me, i am still not convinced that you both are in love." He said
"Believe whatever you want to Dwayne, i am not proving anything to you." Tessa scoffed
Tessa pecked my lips looking at Dwayne with a teasing smile.
I turned towards Dwayne with a fake smile and he frowned before walking away.
"Finally." Tessa breathe
"Bro that was intense." Gerald said
"I thought Dwayne was going to pounce on you, did you look at his face?" Lucas asked and we laughed
"I know the kiss made you feel hot and wanting for more." Tessa whispered to only my hearing
"Never! The kiss is disgusting, i am not attracted in any way to you." I replied
"We will see after i make you moan my name when we become man and wife." She smiled smirking
"You know you are rude and talk dirty for a woman." I said
"And do you think i give a damn dear hubby?" She asked
"Hi guys." Her friend Joan greeted seating in the empty chairs together with her partner
"Bestie, did you just get here?" Tessa asked
"Yes, but i got here in time to watch the drama between you guys and Dwayne and i almost say bestie that i am impressed. Good job." She said
"You and Hayden look good together." She teased
"Hi Jerry" Tessa greeted Joan's date who i just found out his name
"Hi Tess, you look lovely tonight." He complimented her who smile
"Hayden meet Jerry Nicole boyfriend, Jerry, Hayden my fiancee." She introduced the both of us and we shook hands
"I can see that Lucas has quit his Playboy attitude and settled for someone." Tessa said looking at Lucas's date
"Never darling, she is not my girlfriend." He replied
"Hi Tessa and Hayden, i can see that you both are engaged?" We heard a voice said behind us
We both turned back and we came face to face with someone who makes my blood boils.
Someone who brought out painful memories that i have tried to bury.
