Third person's POV
The figure was slender, clad in a black tight-fitting combat uniform, with distinct body curves—she was a woman!
"Who are you?" Golden Shark asked in horror, hastily pulling out his pistol from his pants.
Sweat poured from him as the woman approached from the firelight, her face obscured.
As he drew his gun, a loud "bang" echoed—a gunshot shattered his hand, sending his weapon clattering to the ground.
Seizing the moment, the driver fired back.
A silver flash zipped through the air, and the driver clutched his chest in agony, a dagger protruding from it.
He crumpled to the ground, blood gushing from his mouth.
Golden Shark, a man of many dangers, was unnerved by today's bizarre events.
As he tried to flee with his broken hand, another "bang" rang out, a bullet shattering his knee.
Every time he moved, bullets found their mark. Within seconds, he was hit five or six times, collapsing to the ground in terror.
"Who are you? Did Derek send you?" he demanded.
The woman advanced step by step, the sound of her feet crushing dead leaves sending chills down his spine.
Up close, Golden Shark saw she wore a fox mask with a crimson, leering grin, utterly terrifying.
Looking down at him, her voice was sweet, "Agent 07 here to pay a visit."
Agent 07?
Golden Shark stared in shock.
She was the "Devil" who emerged from the Hell Isles half a year ago.
The Hell Isles was notorious for its brutal selection process, where few survived.
But this cohort was special—everyone was killed by a single person, a woman.
Rumors said those she killed met gruesome ends, earning her the name "She-Devil."
After the trials, numerous organizations fought for her, and Black Wolf Guild won her with a high price.
She didn't disappoint, achieving amazing results in six months and becoming an S-class assassin.
"What do you want?" Golden Shark gasped.
"Someone's put a price on your head."
"Who? I'll pay you double, no, ten times! I'm rich, I'll give it all to you, I..."
"Sorry, the one who bought your head is... me," the woman said, removing her mask.
Golden Shark's pupils dilated in horror as he screamed, "It's you!"
In an instant, blood sprayed. With the woman's smile, Golden Shark's head was severed from his body.
In the sweltering heat of summer, the sun blazed like a giant fireball.
A creaking wooden door opened.
Kamp emerged, looking dejected. Alvin hurriedly asked, "How's the situation?"
"Not good. I've sent blood samples for testing. Alpha Derek's been poisoned with a rare wolfsbane, likely synthesized from several deadly poisons."
"Can you identify it?"
"I've contacted the lab. They're working around the clock. Even if we get the components, there's no guarantee of an antidote. For now, I'm administering medication to slow the toxin's spread to the heart. Why was Alpha Derek so careless this time?"
Rolf sighed, "Those guys set him up. They used a woman resembling Tabitha. Over the years, though he's said nothing, his obsession with Tabitha has been maddening! Every time someone claims to spot her, he rushes over, only to be disappointed."
"This is bad. If we can't find a solution, we'll just have to watch Alpha Derek..."
"I've alerted Dr. Weaver. He's en route with his team, should arrive soon."
At this point, Derek's body was being consumed by the poison. The searing pain spreading through his veins was unbearable.
His skin showed dark red veins, spreading from his limbs.
Alban arrived hastily. Seeing the red veins on Derek's skin, his face paled. "What kind of poison is this?"
"It's an accident. Do you recognize it?"
"It's the Nine-Heart Wolfsbane," Alban said gravely. "Extracted from nine deadly toxins, it usually kills within seventy-two hours, leaving these red veins on the skin. When they reach the heart, it's over. This poison is typically used by illegal factories to punish traitors. How could he be so careless?"
Given Derek's skills, few could approach him, let alone harm him.
"Golden Shark used a woman resembling Tabitha to distract him," someone explained.
"Speak of the devil!" Misha snapped. "I knew she wasn't good news."
"Don't you dare speak ill of Tabitha," Derek rasped, struggling to sit up. Despite being tortured by the poison, he couldn't bear any criticism of Tabitha.
