Third person's POV
"Tabitha, I need to find a place to give you a check-up before I can give you the medicine. Are you available recently?" Jasper asked.
Tabitha was hesitant. Jasper noticed her unease.
"Tabitha, is there something on your mind?"
Tabitha bit her lip and said, "I... might be pregnant."
Jasper's eyes fell on the twins by Tabitha's side.
His lips twitched, "You mean you're pregnant again?"
Tabitha felt a surge of helplessness. Except for Kyrian, who she had conceived intentionally, the twins were accidentally conceived when Derek had a high fever and was not thinking clearly, and this time was even more absurd...
The doctor had said it was hard for her to conceive, yet she had become pregnant these two times.
"I've been feeling nauseous lately, just like my morning sickness before. I'm worried..."
"Alright, let's get an ultrasound first. This town can do ultrasounds, but not MRIs. We'll confirm the pregnancy with the ultrasound, and we'll have to wait until the next stop for the tumor check-up."
"Okay, I'll follow your advice."
Tabitha's face was etched with worry as she recalled her past pregnancies with Helios and Ayla. Everyone had advised her to terminate the pregnancies and undergo treatment, but she had insisted on carrying them to term, and both children were born safely.
Back then, she had been determined to have the babies, partly out of fear of never being able to conceive again, and partly because of the pain of losing Kyrian, which made her pour all her maternal love into these two children. Additionally, they were the fruit of her love with Derek.
But this time was different. She didn't love Wilmot, and now was not the time for her to want a child.
This baby had come at a most inconvenient time.
"Tabitha, you don't want this child?" Jasper asked.
Tabitha opened her mouth to speak but stopped. "Jasper, I don't know how to tell you this, but this child wasn't planned. I hope I'm mistaken. I really don't want to be pregnant now."
"I understand. Let's get the check-up first. It might not be a pregnancy. Don't put too much pressure on yourself. If you are pregnant, we can find a good hospital for a painless abortion. It's convenient."
Although he said this, Tabitha's heart felt even heavier.
The hospital in the town was run-down, with the ultrasound room in a state of disrepair.
The white curtains were stained, and the walls were still in their original cement state, with spider webs hanging in the corners.
"Lie down," the plump female doctor ordered coldly.
Tabitha lay on the dusty bed, a large spider web hanging just above her head, where a prey was making its final struggles, much like she was at this moment.
Her clothes were lifted, and the old-fashioned probe was placed on her stomach. Initially, it felt cold.
As the machine made sounds, Tabitha's heartbeat became extremely irregular.
When the result report was printed out, her limbs went limp, her face as pale as paper, and her body nearly collapsed.
"Tabitha, what's wrong?" Gloria rushed forward and snatched the report from Tabitha's hand.
The report was in the local language, not a common one, "What does this say? I can't understand a word!"
Tabitha licked her dry lips. During her time with the Silver Moon Wolf Pack, she had learned many languages, and she recognized this one.
"I'm pregnant, six weeks along. The baby already has a heartbeat and an embryo."
Gloria's face was filled with shock, "Really? Tabitha, what are you going to do?"
Tabitha felt dizzy and blank, with no idea what to do!
"I don't know. I don't want this child, but it's a living being! I've faced death and don't want to take a life easily."
"Then... keep it. You've already had three children for Derek. One more doesn't matter."
Tabitha hesitated and said, "What if I tell you... the father of this child isn't Derek?"
Gloria was drinking water and spat it out upon hearing this.
"What! Not his?"
Gloria looked around and then lowered her voice, "Who's the father? Is it the masked man? He seems genuinely fond of you and wouldn't hurt you like Derek did."
Tabitha irritably said, "No..."
"Tabitha, this isn't very friendly of you. I've told you about Alpha Leopold, how long each time lasted, and you don't tell me anything!"
Tabitha was helpless. She hadn't meant to listen to Gloria's complaints about Leopold. It was Gloria who kept sharing.
"It's a long story."
"Then make it short." Gloria's face lit up, clearly eager for gossip.
Tabitha, unable to resist Gloria any longer, gave a brief account of what had happened before.
Gloria fell silent after listening, and the usually talkative woman was at a loss for words.
"Does... that person know it's his child?"
"No, he left after that night, and we've had no contact since. The situation was urgent, and things just happened. I took the contraceptive pill as soon as possible, but who would have thought it would end up like this. Gloria, what should I do?"
Tabitha was torn, carrying a child of a man she didn't love, and she truly didn't know what to do.
