Alpha Cree's weakness

Chapter Ten Cold Ones

Ch. 10 / 13 Nov 21, 2025

Trees fly by as I beat my fist against the bloodsuckers' back. “Let me go, you zombie fuck!” Geez, how many more men are going to kidnap me? This is getting out of hand. The asshole stops, and I almost fly over his shoulder. He grabs at my waist but misses and grips a handful of my ass. My eyes widen. “Wow, dickhead!” I snap.

He tosses me down on the ground. “Fine, fall on your ass,” the vamp hisses.

I hit the ground with a thud and my elbow scraps against a rock. “Ow, asshole!” I shrill as pain shoots up my arm. When I retract my hand from my elbow, my fingers reveal blood, and I swallow as I look up at fuckface, who drinks the shit for food. “Holy shit, it’s you,” I mutter, realizing it’s the sarcastic vamp boy.

“The names Azrael,” he announces, huffy like I can read minds, and I should already know that.

“Okay, Azrael, why the hell did you kidnap me?” I ask smartly.

“Were you not already a hostage?”

“That’s not the point, vamp,” I retort and get to my feet, holding my elbow. “Point is that you kidnapped me from my kidnapper, and to be honest, I’d rather take my chances with the wolves,” I smile smugly. Maybe he’ll get tired of my smartass and send me packing.

His hand flies to his chest. “Ouch, that hurt right where... Wait, I don’t have a beating heart,” Azrael's hand falls from his chest, and he chuckles, pleased.

Oh lord, now I understand why I gave Cree a freaking migraine.

Azrael’s glowing silver eyes take me in as he licks his pale lips. Fuck, is he really going to eat me? He inches closer, and my legs instantly move backward. “What the fuck do you want?”

The silver disappears from his eyes, and they fill with darkness. “The same as your wolf-boy.”

My breaths come in heavy, and the ricocheting of my heart sounds like a pinball machine in my ears as I feel faint. “W-what?” my eyes feel heavy, and I stumble back. Looking at my elbow, I realize that my body can’t take much more between the blood oozing out and no food; the forest trees spin, and my vision blurs, lights out.

The light from the moon flashes as my olive orbs flicker open and shut. Drowsy, I glance around. Left's dirt and rights the tree line. Damn it; I passed out. Remembering what happened, I sit up in a panic. My eyes shift around the woods to find fuckface sitting by a fire. Do vamps even need to stay warm?

I brush myself off and wince when the pain from my elbow returns. “Ah,” I hiss.

“Little miss red riding hood is finally awake,” Azrael laughs, glancing behind him into the forest as if waiting for someone to appear.

Glaring, I get to my feet and make my way over to the fire. It is freezing out here, so whether I want to, I have to be near vamp boy. “A wolf ate red riding hood. Haven’t got eaten by a wolf yet,” I declare and facepalm mentally as I speak before I think again. Azrael smirks, and I want to punch his stupid chalky-ass face. “Shut it, don’t even,” I snap.

He raises his hands high in defeat. “Wasn’t going to say a word,” Azrael chuckles.

“Mm-Hm,” I roll my eyes, placing my hands together and rubbing them in front of the fire.

“Cold?” He asks.

“What gave it away?” I say crabbily.

Before Azrael answers, a deep raspy voice speaks from the woods. A dark figure lurks in the shadows. The fog around him makes his presence eerie. “Azrael, didn’t your mother teach you never to play with your food?” He moves into the light. His blanched face ogles down at me, sitting cross-legged on the dirt.

Man, this old vamp man gave me the creeps.

He wanders closer, stopping with his feet at my outer thigh. He reaches down and yanks me to my feet, clutching my sweater in his blood-stained hand.

“Father, that’s unnecessary. She is feisty but no threat to us,” Azrael insists.

Father? I thought as his breath fans in my face. I gag inside as it smells like death warmed over.

The man turns to Azrael. “If you think she is no threat, you’re mistaken. She belongs to the Alpha. What were you thinking taking her?” His saliva sprays as he yells over at his son.

The only thing I got from his yelling was that he thinks I belong to Cree. Oh, hell no. My sweater is in his grasp, but I tug it free. “I don’t belong to no one!” I lash out. What is with these stupid mythical fucks? Why do they all think they own women?

The man fills with anger as he looks down at me. “You may not know it yet, but you belong to him.” He moves his gaze over to Azrael and points his finger in fury. “You want our entire village to be slaughtered? A war between us again? Do you not remember the first one?”

Azrael lowers his chin, shaking his head. “No, father. I remember,” He mumbles.

“You may have just signed our death certificates. One bite from them, and we are goners.” The man says with disappointment. “Reckless,” He sighs, looking between us. “Kill her before he finds out it was you.” His order sends me into hysteria. Why does everyone want to kill me or eat me? And not pleasurably.

With Azrael and his father in a heated yelling match, I back away slowly when a twig crunches beneath the thick sole of my converse.

Fuck me.

Their heads snap over at me, and I dart into the woods.

I frantically weave through the forest. Low-hanging branches slap my face as I run for my life with two vamps on my tail. Shit, shit, shit, shit, shit. I chant in my brain. My lungs expand rapidly, inhaling air greedily as I dart my eyes around for a way out of this hellhole. God, can I just get a do-over for the last few days? I beg.

As Azrael catches me, it interrupts my thoughts, forcing me to the ground. I quickly roll over, and he straddles me. Desperate, I throw my hands at him, fist clenched. All those fights with my brother paid off when I hit Azrael square in the kisser, knocking him back.

Azrael is stronger than the others we fought back in the field, so he quickly bounces back. His finger sways from side to side. “Bad girl,” He smirks like this is fun for him. He enjoyed the chase and the feeling of having all the power. His caring demeanor back at the fire is gone.

On my feet, I brace myself, ready for a fight. “Fuck you!”

Azrael’s brow lifts, intrigued. “Gladly,” he says enticingly and rushes at me.

My eyes go round just before his cement frame slams into me. “Ugh,” Our bodies crash in the mud, and we wrestle, rolling around. He slaps my face, and I return the favor.

“Oh, I love feisty women,” He grunts as I knee him in the side.

“Go to hell fuckface.” I sneer out of breath as we still tumble around.

“Already been. It’s quite nice actually. The Devil isn’t as bad as everyone proclaims.” His laugh echoes the empty air like the joker.

“You’re sick,” I retort, going for his eye sockets when he gets his hand around my throat. It felt vile when this vamp piece of trash did it. But when Cree did, it was hot, arousing.

He forces me to stop moving by using his knees on my arms. Azrael tightens his fingers around my jaw, inching his pasty face closer to mine. His other hand comes up, and he trails his icy finger over my lips. “Captivating,” He whispers. “Just a taste is all I need.”

Appalled, I squirm to free myself, but it’s useless. Azrael has me pinned. “Get off me,” I demand between clenched teeth.

Clutching my jaw, he forces me to look him in the eyes. His tongue slips out, and he licks the side of my mouth, tasting my flesh.

Yuck. I gag.

“Delicious,” Azrael buzzes. I snap my teeth at him, hoping to bite off a finger. “Ooh, a biter, even better.”

“Your entire village deserves to be mauled by a bear, you twat!” I spit in his face. “Just kill me already, you fucking sick weirdo,” I add.

Rage fills every ounce of his features. “Not before I get my fill of that sweet cunt of yours,” He smiles devilishly.

“Fuck no, get away from me, you perv!” I squirm, trying to get away. “HELP!” I scream.

Covering my mouth, Azrael takes his other hand, grabs my shirt’s hem, and tears it off. His eyes drag across my maroon-laced bra. After he burns the image of my breast in his head, he reaches for my leggings and tugs them down. My screams bounce off his palm as I struggle to get him off me.

He uses his knee, spreads my thighs apart, and presses himself against my center. Tears drench down my cheeks. Don’t give up. A voice in my head says, and I don’t. I get my mouth to his pinky and crunch.

“AH!” Azrael yells in pain, and I knee him hard. He doubles over, and I take off.

Once again, I’m sprinting through the woods, sobbing to the point my vision can’t make a tree from a damn yeti. I aggressively wipe my face as I continue running in my undies when I slam into a solid frame and freak out again. My fist pounds against his chest. “Help!” I shout, darting my head from side to side, praying someone can hear me and will come to save me.

A familiar scent washes over me. Strong hands cup my face, lifting my chin upward. “It’s me.”
