A Plaything For CEO Blackwood

# 88 The New CEO

Ch. 88 / 129 Mar 31, 2025

** Anna’s POV **

I hurried out of the elevator and down to my office; the last thing I wanted was to give Mr. Wilson a reason to fire me. He already made it clear that he now hates me and all he needs is a tiny bity reason to kick me out of the firm and have me replaced, but this job was too valuable to me to give him that chance.

I walked into the sales directory department but paused right after I stepped in. I had to look around to make sure I had walked into the right office; what is going on? Were they moving things around or what?

I noticed Alia was not in the office, but that was not the confusing thing there, I was puzzled as my desk had been cleared out. My desk was empty, all the files and even my personal items were no longer there.

My heart flipped at the sight of that. What does this mean? Did I get fired? I was about to start panicking when I heard footsteps approaching and I turned around to meet Alia.

“Hey, look who is here. Did you forget something?” she said excitedly.

“Sorry… What is going on? Where is my desk?”

Alia paused and looked at me with a crumpled face. “Is this a joke? Anyways, congratulations… I am glad you put that son of a bitch in his place.” She whispered, looking around to ensure no one else heard.

Now I was even more confused. “Wait!” I demonstrated, “What is going on?” I asked for the umpteenth time and then turned towards my desk. “Where is my stuff?”

“What do you think, Boss? It is at your new office, you are so funny.” Alia laughed. “You know when I heard the news, I was in shock. You never told me you had such connections.”

“Okay! okay! enough with the confusing statements. Can you explain to me what is going on? Why is my office being changed? Did something happen?”

Alia paused and slightly tilted her head, looking at me with dubious eyes. “You are serious? You really don’t know?”

“I swear I have no idea what is going on.” I spat, holding back my frustration. Not knowing what was going on was tearing me from the inside.

“Anna! A multimillion dollar company bought the Firm, and they made you the temporary CEO of the publishing house. You are the Boss now, you really mean you don’t know that?”

My jaws dropped instantly. “What?” I muttered.

“Yeah, you should check your email, I am sure a copy of the agreement must have been sent to you. Why would they pick you when you have no idea about it? I mean, how do they even know you?”

“Sorry, did you say a multimillion dollar company? Is it by any chance Blackwood…”

“Precious Stones and Jewelries,” Alia completed the statement for me. “Yes, that is the one, so you know it then?”

My expression changed immediately on hearing that. “No he didn’t, it is not true.” I muttered in disbelief.

“I don’t know who you are talking about but yes it is true. All that staff has been notified, including the GM. The news has spread all over the company, you are the new Boss around here. I know it is too soon but promise me that you will consider increasing my wages,” Alia said with a light chuckle.

I was still in shock. Did Mr. Blackwood really buy off this company for me? Why would he do that? I needed to make sure this was real.

“I will be back!” I said in a rush of words and headed for the next floor where I believe the CEO’s office should be located.

“Is that a yes??” Alia yelled behind but I was too far gone to respond.

I got out of the elevator to the CEO’s office, I was hesitant about pushing it open at first. What if all this is a prank and costs me my job? I had to first knock to be sure and when there was no response, I pushed the door open and walked in.

The first thing my eyes caught on the table was the staff name tag, the plastic card had my name written on it. My jaws dropped in surprise… So it is true? I am the CEO! What was Mr. Blackwood thinking?

I rushed to my desk and relaxed on the chair. The foam was so soft and comfortable, unlike the wooden chair I was forced to use back at the sales department. I turned to the glass wall and I loved the view of the city below; this is marvelous!

I was still in the process of examining my new office when a knock sounded on the door and before I could even give permission, he walked in. It was Mr. Wilson!

I stopped what I was doing and slowly turned the mobile chair to face him, a little smile on my face. I am going to enjoy this conversation.

“Mr. Wilson, Good morning… Is there something that I can help you with?” I asked.

He chuckled darkly and huffed. “Of course, I was always right about you, a green snake in the green grass. Didn’t you say you were celibate? So tell me Miss Annabel, who did you have to sleep with to get such a massive promotion? Whose balls did you have to suck?”

“Mr. Wilson, I understand that your feelings are hurt but please mind your words.”

“Do not threaten me you little bitch! I always knew you were a whore, celebrate your little victory while it lasts.” He spat in a rage.

“I think you have forgotten which one of us is in charge now. I am the CEO now and while it lasts, I am your boss and can decide to have you fired and replaced. One more insult or question of my character, Mr. Wilson and you will be looking for a new job!” I warned sternly.

He chuckled again. “A-ha! Yes Ma’am,” he replied sarcastically and walked out angrily, leaving the door open.

I sighed and relaxed back on the chair. Was I becoming too aggressive lately or is it just the pregnancy messing with me? Where did I find the courage to say those words to him? I literally threatened him.

Maybe I shouldn’t have said those words; I don’t feel so good about it anymore. My thoughts soon moved away from Mr. Wilson and I thought back to my new promotion, perhaps it is about time I paid CEO Blackwood a visit, because why does he keep meddling in my life affairs?
