I ran around the living room like a headless cockroach, not knowing where to hide. It was impossible for me to hide from another wolf. I was stink, and my scent was too strong not to pick up by him. I had to find a room that was strong enough to keep me inside safe until Madison arrived.
"Madison," the alpha began to knock on the door.
His knock was so powerful I heard the roof of the home shaking.
"Madison, if you don't answer me, I'm going to have to hit down the door, assuming you're hurt by that scoundrel you, sorrily took in."
Immediately, I ran upstairs. I fall on the final step, hitting my face. I quickly picked myself up and ran to the spare room Madison had given me. I closed the door as I did and hide in the closet full of clothes. As I did I listened attentively downstairs. I heard the door open with a loud sound and my heart raced heavily in my chest. I'm dead, it's all I could think of.
Madison where are you, I am worried. I needed her to be here, to save me again. Tears slowly emerged from my eyes and fell onto the clothes under my feet leaving small wet spots. I soon heard the rain on the roof caused by my tears.
I shove my body under a heap of dark clothes that smelled so fresh, hoping they could hide my scent and my body shivered even more terrified as I heard the alpha heavy footsteps making his way upstairs. My heart felt like it stopped and my eyes shut scenting he was outside of the room I was in.
"I can smell your stinking scent, scoundrel," I heard the alpha say angrily.
My eyes opened wide, scared to death.
I pushed myself further into the closet as I heard the door slowly open.
I thought I had locked it but I didn't do it the right way as Madison did. The alpha opened the door hard allowing it to hit the wall.
I am dead, I thought as I heard his footsteps headed straight into the room. He knew I was in the closet. My four feet were weak, and I was scared, as he opened the door of the closet. My body was pressed close to the corner of the closet as our eyes met. My blue eyes stared into his deadly cold and dangerous blood-red eyes, terrified.
As much as he terrified me, I growled at him, instructing him to stay away from me.
His head turned away from mine and a single hand went to his nose unable to bear my scent. I saw there was a chance for me to escape before his head could turn back to me again. I immediately ran from the closet and tried to leap over him. In the end, I wish I didn't.
I squealed out and I pee myself as one of his strong arms grabbed tightly around my neck. My mouth opened unable to breathe.
"What have you done to Madison?" he asked angrily as he stared into my eyes with pure fury.
His hand untightened around my neck as if he was giving me a chance to respond.
I whimpered and clawed at his hand, sinking my sharp claw into his flesh. His hand again tightened around my neck harder and I crap myself.
"You disgust me," he growled as he squeezed my neck harder.
My eyes rolled over and I felt my soul as if it was emerging from my body.
If I should choose the most painful death I would say is being strangled. Being stopped from breathing was the most awful thing I've ever experienced. My eyes closed and I saw my wolf standing before a white light. I was walking towards it, suddenly, I stopped and I just stared at it.
"Rain! Rain!" I heard a shout.
I turned from the white light and I found myself laying on the ground in my crap and piss taking deep breaths.
I was alive and not dead. It was Madison who had called me from the white light. She was on her knee wailing.
"I'm sorry I left you alone," she cried.
I stare into her tearful eyes.
My eyes slowly moved from her and I saw the evil alpha standing between the door. Within his eyes, I saw sadness. Not for me but for Madison. His blood-red eyes never looked at me instead his aunt.
"Madison," he called.
There was no anger in his voice but sadness.
"Just please leave me alone," begged Madison.
His blood-red eyes finally looked at me and I quickly looked away from him.
I heard him take too step away from us and paused.
My eyes returned to him. His back was turned.
"I give your scoundrel 3 days to see if she's worthy to be a part of my pack."
Madison stood up immediately and turned to him straight away.
"A week, 3 days is not enough," she told him.
"5 days and that's all I'm giving," the alpha growled.
"As you say," said Madison as she lowered her head.
"Alaric will be sent here with the first task she'll need to do to be accepted as a part of this pack," the alpha said as he began to leave.
"Thank you," said Madison.
"I'm not going to make it easy for her to pass," he gravely said as he left.
Madison turned back to me who was still lying on the floor, finally catching my breath.
I whimpered.
"I'm sorry for leaving you here alone," Madison again apologize.
"Come let's get you clean up," she helped me up.
"Stay here I'm going to fill the bathtub so you can clean yourself," said Madison.
As she went into the bathroom. I ran from the house.
"Rain!" she called.
My heart raced and every hair stood from my body, terrified at what had almost happened to me in the room. It was my first near-death experience and seeing that bright light scared the living hell out of me. I now had a fear of dying and I needed to get away from here and everyone quickly. I felt safe being alone. No one would try to hurt me.
