POV: Jasmine
The lingerie photo glowed on my phone screen—black lace against white sheets, a collar of pearls coiled beside it like a serpent waiting to strike.
Jackson's message beneath it: Wear this. Nothing else. 8 PM.
Something cracked inside me. Not surrender. Something darker. Sharper.
"I have an idea," I said, sitting up in bed. "You're going to hate it."
Liam's knuckles were white where he gripped the headboard, rage radiating off him in waves that made the air feel thick. "What kind of idea?"
"The kind where I stop being prey." I met his gaze without flinching. "He wants a performance? I'll give him one that he'll never forget. On my terms."
"Jasmine, he's dangerous—"
"He's expecting submission. A woman who spreads her legs and dissociates while he takes what he wants." I felt something feral uncurl in my chest, something that had been sleeping through a week of groped thighs and stolen kisses and good girl whispered like a curse. "What if I give him something he's never had? What if I make him beg?"
Horror crossed Liam's face first. Then confusion. Then something that looked like fear—not of Jackson, but of me. Of what I was becoming.
"You want to dominate him?"
"I want to destroy him." The words tasted like copper and truth. "I want to take everything he thinks he's owed and burn it in front of his face. I want him to feel what it's like to want something he can't have."
"If he turns violent—"
"Then I'll have tried." I grabbed his hand, felt the tremor in his fingers. "I'm done floating near ceilings while my body gets used. Done surviving through absence. If I'm going to break, I want to break fighting."
The silence stretched like a blade between us.
"Trust me," I whispered. "Please."
He kissed me like it might be the last time. Maybe it was.
Jackson's villa crouched at the end of a private drive, all sharp angles and tinted glass—a predator's lair designed to intimidate. Security cameras tracked my approach like cold eyes. The door opened before I could knock.
He stood in the entrance wearing a silk robe that cost more than my apartment, cigar smoke curling around him like a living thing. His gaze traveled down my body with proprietary slowness, lingering on the places the black dress revealed.
"Beautiful," he murmured. "Like a lamb dressed for slaughter."
"Or a wolf in lamb's clothing." I smiled with teeth. "Shall we?"
Dinner was a performance of its own—him holding court about corporate conquests and hostile takeovers while I pushed food around a plate I couldn't taste. Candles flickered between us, casting shadows that made his face look skull-like. Predatory.
"You've been remarkably compliant this week," he observed, swirling wine that probably cost more than my car. "I expected more fight from someone who managed to seduce all three of my sons."
"Maybe I've learned my place."
"Have you?" His eyes glittered in the candlelight. "Or are you just waiting for the right moment to bite?"
The music started—something slow and dark, all bass and whispered promises. He stood, extending his hand.
"Show me your bedroom," I said instead, rising before he could touch me. "I want to see where this ends."
His smile sharpened. "Eager little thing."
"Motivated."
The bedroom was a monument to depravity—mirrors on every surface, a bed large enough to drown in, lighting that turned skin golden and shadows deep. He reached for my zipper, and I felt the moment pivot on a knife's edge.
I moved first.
Shoved him backward onto the bed hard enough to knock the breath from his lungs. Before he could recover, my heel was pressed against his inner thigh, close enough to damage something vital.
"Tonight, you watch." My voice came out cold. Commanding. Nothing like the trembling girl who'd endured his hands all week. "You touch yourself. But you don't touch me. Not once. Not ever."
Jackson stared up at me, and I watched something shift behind his eyes—surprise becoming calculation becoming something that looked almost like respect. Or hunger. With him, they might be the same thing.
"Interesting." He settled back against the pillows, robe falling open. "And if I refuse?"
"Then I walk out, and you spend the rest of your life wondering what you missed." I pressed my heel harder, watched him flinch. "Your sons know I'm here. So does my lawyer. So does a journalist friend who would love nothing more than to publish a piece about Jackson Blackwood's extortion tactics."
The lie rolled off my tongue smooth as silk. His expression flickered—doubt, then anger, then reluctant amusement.
"You're bluffing."
"Try me."
The standoff stretched. Seconds. An eternity. Then his hand moved to his cock, already hardening despite—or because of—my defiance.
"Show me something worth watching, then."
I gave him a show he'd never forget.
Moved like sin itself, all undulating hips and trailing fingers that traced my own body like a map he couldn't read. The dress slipped off one shoulder, revealing skin he couldn't touch. I moaned softly, head thrown back, and watched in the mirrors as his hand moved faster.
"Slower," I commanded. "I didn't say you could finish."
He obeyed. Jackson fucking Blackwood—corporate shark, family destroyer, man who'd groped me like property for seven days—obeyed.
Power surged through me like electricity. Dark and addictive and terrifying.
I danced closer. Let him see but not touch. Let him smell my perfume and hear my breath quicken and watch my hands slide over places he'd demanded access to all week. His breathing went ragged. His control shattered.
"Please," he gasped, and the word was sweeter than any revenge I'd imagined.
"Now," I whispered. "Finish. Now."
He came with a sound like breaking, spilling across his own stomach while I stood over him untouched. Untouchable.
I leaned close. Let my lips brush his ear. Let him feel my breath against his skin.
"Good boy," I whispered, and the venom in those words was years in the making.
Then I walked out.
In my car, the shaking started. Violent tremors that made it impossible to grip the wheel. I pulled over three blocks away and screamed into my hands until my throat went raw.
I'd done it. Controlled him. Dominated him. Walked out with my dignity intact and his defeat still wet on his stomach.
But as the adrenaline faded and cold clarity crept in, I understood the truth with sickening certainty.
Jackson Blackwood didn't lose. Didn't accept humiliation. Didn't let prey escape after she'd drawn blood.
I hadn't won.
I'd declared war.
And tomorrow, he would make me pay for every second of tonight's performance in ways I couldn't yet imagine.
