Bryce stared at the information on his phone screen. He was not surprised by what Ivan did, as he knew him to have such a character. With money and power, he had just upgraded his bullying skills. Bryce sat down in deep thought. Back in school, he never liked Ivan but never engaged him anyway. The day he decided to confront Ivan for beating up a student who came from a poor family, he never came to school and Bryce never saw or heard of him again to date. He was sure Ivan was affecting him because he put his mother, Matilda in prison.
"Ivan, I am coming for you," Bryce said, his gaze falling on Angela. He remembered their son, who never got the chance to see the world.
Back at another location, Ivan was still with Eduardo, planning how to finally take Bryce out.
"That bastard is still breathing. How is he escaping?" Ivan thought pacing up and down the balcony.
"He has guards," Eduardo pointed out. "Again, this is Bryce we are talking about. He is stupid. He has his ways of getting information. For all you know he knows you were coming," he pointed out.
"No, we got his wife. I am sure we were way ahead of him. I have my men monitor him 24/7," Ivan informed Eduardo frustrated.
"I know, but he managed to take out all the monitors you put in his house," Eduardo reminded him.
"I know but we had enough information to plan a surprise attack," Ivan pointed out.
"Well, he was lucky. Let's find another way," Eduardo said. "Monday, Elorm will start working in the company. We will get all the information we need about the company. We will take everything away from him," he informed him.
"Okay, so what next?" Ivan asked waiting to hear if Eduardo had a plan reason he was very calm.
"We can use Zora," Eduardo suggested and Ivan frowned.
"Elorm's ex?" Ivan asked, wanting to be sure it was the same Zora he knew.
"Yes," Eduardo confirmed and Ivan raised an eyebrow. "Look, you bought the story of Elorm having cancer and dying. She has some sympathy for the poor guy. This is why Elorm was able to kiss her twice and he didn't get angry about it. Even though she is dating Martin. Or was dating Martin? I am not sure of their relationship status now. Those two seem to be fighting a silent war," he informed Ivan and he listened waiting to hear that part that would benefit him.
"We are killing both Bryce and Angela. Let's make Bryce suffer. I understand, Angela survived, but barely. We can use Zora to kill Angela. Bryce will be beyond hurt. I know he will come after you. It will be our time to strike," Eduardo suggested.
"Angela is already in a coma," Ivan said. "So what don't we use Zora to kill Bryce?" he asked.
"Well, we tried to use others to kill him multiple times, but he escaped them all. Let's just increase his pain. He will come to look for us himself. It will be our chance to take him down. We just need to be ready for whatever he will come with. He will break some laws in doing that. So when we kill him, we will be since as the heroes," Eduardo explained and it made sense to Ivan.
"At first I just wanted someone to clear him off the scene, but now hearing you saying all that. I want to put a bullet into his body myself," Ivan said and smiled. "Let's do that. Let's cause him more pain," he said laughing and quickly pulled his phone out of his pocket.
"Hello Elorm," Ivan said. "I have a job for you," he said with a smile.
Back at Bryce's apartment, Zora was on the edge wondering how her friend was. She was sure of one thing. She was alive. If she were to be dead, Bryce and everyone else would be home. She went down on her knees and prayed but was not sure she was doing it right. She had never had a reason to pray. Angela knew how to pray, but she didn't.
"God help me and help my friend," Zora said pacing up and down her room.
She fetched her phone and tried calling Bryce but felt he might be in good shape to speak with her. She decided to text Martin.
Hello Martin, I know you are mad at me for whatever I did to offend you but this is not about you or me. Please I just want to see my friend. Which hospital are you in? I beg you.
Zora typed it and sent it to Martin. She waited patiently hoping Martin would reply. Ten minutes went by and still nothing. She was about to text again when a message came through from Martin. It was the name of the hospital. She smiled and quickly sent a message back thanking Martin.
She requested an Uber and was soon on her way to the hospital. While on the journey, Elorm called.
"Hello Zora," Elorm said, his voice full of excitement.
"Hi Elorm, can we talk later? I have an emergency now," Zora said not ready to engage in a happy conversation with Elorm.
"Okay, but did anything happen?' Elorm asked. "I am your friend. You can talk to me. I am ready to do anything to help," he said and this statement warms Zora's heart.
"It's my friend. She was attacked," Zora said. "Have you not seen it in the news?" she asked.
"I am so sorry to hear that. Trust me, I was going through the things you sent me the last time, so I have not paid any attention to the news," Elorm replied. "Hope everyone is fine?" he fakes concern.
"I don't know yet. I am now on my way to the hospital," Zora replied.
"Hey, if you need anything, just let me know and I will be there," Elorm said and Zora thanked him before ending the call.
Zora arrived at the hospital and walked into the hospital. She met Martin who gave her a cold welcome but that wasn't Zora's concern now. Martin showed Zora where Angela's ward was and she quickly headed in the direction.
Zora arrived at the ward and pushed the door open. She strode in and found Angela lying on the bed with her eyes closed. A tear fell from Zora's eyes as her hands flew to cover her mouth. She stood frozen behind the closed door.
Bryce just stared at her across the room.
