The Omega’s Second Chance Mate

CHAPTER 161 You Were Never Man Enough For Her

Ch. 161 / 208 Apr 30, 2026

Milo's face is swollen and bruised, dark purple, and mottled with hints of red. His lip is split open, and blood is oozing from the wound. His clothes are torn and stained with dirt and blood. When news spread that the vampires had fought with rogues and taken a woman, Nadia was quick to punish Milo. Milo barely had time to register what was going on before he was blindfolded and beaten viciously. He let his guard down, assuming that this was the end, until he received a call directing him to an abandoned gym.

"Why an abandoned gym?" Milo asked Austin as he walked ahead of him.

"Shut up and walk. You're in no position to question anything," Austin responded.

As they enter the abandoned gym, Milo does not move forward as he sees Lana. Why was she here? How did she get captured?

Austin shoved Milo forward. As Milo stumbled forward, he hissed from the pain. Lana could see bruises forming on his exposed arms and neck, the skin red and raw from the rough handling of his captors. She could almost feel the pain radiating from his body. "What did you do to him?" Lana asked.

"He didn't follow orders just like you, Lana," Nadia replied. "Yet, he is worth offering another chance, unlike you."

"Lana??" There was a cruel grin spreading across Austin's face as he saw Lana. "I can't believe that you're alive. You were right, Milo. You did say she would have survived. It doesn't really matter since she's going to die today."

"Are you really going to kill your ex-girlfriend's sister?" Milo asked, his face a mask of defeat and resignation.

"Are you going to stand here and question orders again? Did you not learn your lesson? See, that's your problem, Milo. You're too compassionate," Austin asked, his tone dripping with menace. Milo remained silent, his gaze locked on Lana's. "But to answer your question, Milo, I follow orders. It doesn't matter if she is Kasia's little sister. She's a traitor. Kasia was a valuable warrior, and we lost her because this idiot didn't know how to follow orders correctly."

Austin was another face that she didn't think she'd ever see again. Lana couldn't help but laugh at Austin's words. Compared to everything she had been through, Austin's threat to kill her was nothing. He was a joke before, and he still is. "And what's so funny?" Austin demanded, irritation flashing in his eyes.

"That you're on your tough guy, tony bull right now," Lana explained. "It's just ridiculous."

Austin uttered harsh words for a woman who was about to face execution.

"Better to be executed than to be sharing the same air as someone like you," Lana countered.

"What did you say?" Austin asked.

"It didn't matter if I hadn't been caught; she was still going to leave.Kasia was too smart. And she was definitely going to leave you, Austin," Lana replied, her voice strong despite her circumstances. "And you wanna know why? Because you're a cowardly sack of crap. You were never man enough for her. You were nothing more than a placeholder to pass the time."

"You think you're better than me? You were nothing but a loser. I always hated you. You were always bringing Kasia down. Now, I can do something about that," Austin sneered. He pulled a gun from his waist and pointed it at Lana. But before he could pull the trigger, Nadia intervened. "No, not you," she said, her gaze focusing on Milo. "I want him to do it."

"What?" Milo's disbelief was palpable as he stared at Nadia, searching for any hint of mercy in her icy stare.

"Kill her, and we will forgive you for failing to kill the red lycan and allowing the bloodsuckers to get a hold of her," Nadia explained, her voice cold but firm. She knew how close Milo had been to Kasia and Lana, and she wanted to see just how far his loyalty to the hunters would stretch.

Lana tried to hide her surprise at hearing this. Vampires had kidnapped Kasia? Why would they want her? And how did Nadia know about the red lycan? What was going on? Her mind raced with questions, but she didn't have time to dwell on them for long.

Milo approached her, a switch knife in hand, its blade glinting under the dim light of the abandoned gym. "Cold-blooded. You're going to stab her to death? And you acted like I was cruel," Austin taunted, his voice mischievous as he looked forward to watching.

Milo didn't respond to the taunting; he just kept moving towards Lana, his eyes locked onto hers. He half expected Lana to reveal his identity as a werecat, but she said nothing. She simply glared back at him, defiance etched across her face. Yet, despite her brave front, Milo could see the fear swirling within her hazel eyes.

"What are you waiting for?" Nadia snapped, growing impatient. "Would you prefer to be the one hanged at HQ?"

"Just let me do it. I'll make it quick. One shot to the head," Austin chimed in, eager for bloodshed.

Taking a deep breath, Milo made a sudden decision and dropped the knife. Nadia's eyes narrowed as she asked, "What do you think you're doing?"

"I guess it all comes to an end right now," Milo sighed, resignation heavy in his voice. Before Nadia could question him further, he sprang into action with lightning speed, slitting the throats of the two hunters and restraining Lana. Milo quickly launched the other two hunters away from Lana as he stood protectively in front of her. His nails extended into claws, and his fangs were barred.

"I knew it! I knew you were a damn monster!" Nadia exclaimed, her face contorting with rage. Milo smirked at her, unable to resist a jab. "You still slept with me, though, didn't you? Wouldn't that make you a furry?"

In blind fury, Nadia snatched the gun from Austin and began firing at Milo. He dodged the bullets with agile grace, quickly grabbing Lana and fleeing through a window. Nadia rushed to the window and continued shooting, her anger boiling over. The festival patrons on the street screamed in panic.

"Stop!" Austin yelled, panic setting in. "If you don't stop, we'll have the entire city on top of us!"

Finally, Nadia ceased firing, her chest heaving as she tried to catch her breath. With a snarl, she said, "I want them found immediately!"
