Without hesitation, I snatch the gun from the holster in his pants, my fingers closing around the cold metal. As I point the barrel at him, his eyes snap open, a snarl of fury twisting his features.
"Stupid bitch," he hisses under his breath, holding his hands up in surrender. Despite the fact I have a gun pointed at him, he twitches inside me, clearly still aroused. With a surge of disgust, I scramble off of him, putting a safe distance between us. Each step is a cautious retreat from the monster before me.
Nathan sits up slowly, his black pants still around his thighs, exposing his erection. With dark, calculating eyes, he holds his hand out for the weapon. "Give me the gun, little pet," he demands, as if he truly believes I'll obey him. "Although I do enjoy gun play, I'm usually the one in charge. If you wanted me to fuck your ass with my gun, you could've just asked first."
I grit my teeth, my grip tightening on the gun as I aim it directly at his groin. "Well, play with this," I spit out, the words laced with venom. Without hesitation, I pull the trigger.
His scream pierces the air, but before it can draw the attention of anyone nearby, I swiftly put another bullet through his skull, silencing him once and for all.
But I can't stop there. Each moment of torture, each time of him taking me against my will, each ounce of pain he inflicted upon me replays in my head in a never-ending loop. With tears streaming down my face, I scream as I continue to pull the trigger until the clip is empty.
Exhausted, sore, but finally free of one of my captors, I sink onto the blood-stained floor, the weight of my actions settling over me. As my body tremors uncontrollably, a broken sob rises up my throat.
I'm just as much of a monster as these people.
I remember the satisfaction on Diego's face when I murdered that Russian. I bet he'd be so proud of me for killing his brother. But it wasn't for him, it was for me.
I claw at the collar still firmly in place, the silver pressing into my skin like a burning brand. With each desperate tug, a wave of helplessness and despair washes over me, enveloping me in a dark, suffocating cloud.
Fuck. How do I get this off without a key?
I refuse to be his possession any longer. I refuse to be anyone's.
Why would I wear something from a man I never plan on seeing again in life, anyway?
My only focus right now is tracking down my mom and freeing her from the unspeakable horrors she must be going through right now. But first, I need to escape this hellhole. And I need to find Alicia before Celeste discovers that I just murdered her son.
"Come off!" I shout in frustration, yanking hard one last time before giving up. Celeste made sure to remove my wedding ring, so why didn't she get a saw or something to cut this off?
Oh right. Because she would've used it to torture me.
I avoid meeting Nathan's lifeless eyes as I quickly search through his pockets. Fortunately, I find another magazine. Just as Diego taught me, I replace the magazine in the pistol with ease.
Then, I slip on his suit jacket that Nathan discarded on the floor before he raped me. Although it's splattered with blood, it's better than me facing what's on the other side of this door completely naked. The fact that Celeste or any of her other men have yet to show up is extremely unnerving.
Instead of charging in here, are they just waiting for me to come out?
I take a deep, steadying breath, summoning every last bit of courage I have as I place my hand on the door's handle.
Suddenly, from the other side of the basement door, a cacophony of curses and shouts erupts in the distance, punctuated by the unmistakable sound of gunshots.
My heart lurches with a whirlwind of emotions. Fear. Hope. More rage.
It can only mean one thing: my stubborn, lying, deceitful dickweed of a husband has actually come to rescue me.
