~ Zoie's POV ~
"Mmhm, I'll see you tomorrow," Miles said as he planted one more kiss on Zoie's lips.
"See you tomorrow," she replied, kissing him back.
The weekend went by in a flash. After spending their first night together, Miles and Zoie enjoyed a lazy Sunday morning before heading back to the city. They made some pancakes and took a walk around the woods, and all of a sudden, it was already late afternoon. They drove back, stopped for some late lunch slash early dinner, and by 8 PM that night, Zoie was back at her apartment building. Miles walked her until she reached her door, and he couldn't stop kissing her. They were saying goodbye three times already.
"Have a good night," he said as he kissed her again.
"You too," she giggled. "Thank you for this fun weekend,"
"Of course," he said, kissing her for one final time. "Okay, bye, baby,"
"Bye," Zoie stood on her tippy toes and kissed him back too.
They were smiling at each other as they slowly pulled away. Miles kept his eyes on her as he walked to the elevator. She was smiling and waving, and she waited until he disappeared into the elevator before turning for the door.
Once Zoie opened the apartment door, the first thing she noticed was how clean everything was. The kitchen was spotless and the couch looked as if it hadn't been sat on. Zoie closed the door and put her overnight bag on the kitchen counter. She went around to grab a glass of water, and then she heard Asher's door creaking open.
Asher walked out rather lamely. He was wearing a plain black t-shirt and shorts. He looked up and noticed her, and he seemed to do a double take. As if to make sure she was really there.
"Hey," she greeted him.
"Hey," he greeted back.
Silence.
There was definitely tension in the air. Zoie didn't know what it was about, but there was this awkward elephant sitting in the room with them. Asher was being awfully quiet and his eyes looked... sad. When he noticed that she was looking at him, she quickly finished her water and cleared her throat.
"Are you okay?" he asked.
"Yeah, totally," she blurted. "Why wouldn't I be?"
Another awkward silence.
Zoie fidgeted with her glass before putting it down in the sink. She then grabbed her overnight bag and walked across the room, heading for the bedroom.
"How was your weekend?" Asher said suddenly, stopping Zoie's tracks.
"Um, it was good," she replied. "His family cabin was really nice,"
"Cool," Asher nodded his head.
Zoie was glad Asher didn't ask for any more information. She thought about going straight to her room, but then she muttered, "Yeah... and how was your weekend?"
Asher just shrugged.
"Meh, it was alright,"
"Did you go out?"
"I just stayed home,"
"Oh. Cool," Zoie found herself nodding her head.
Another awkward tension.
Asher went silent again. Zoie decided they'd had enough small talk. She walked past him and straight to her door, but before she could reach for the door handle, Asher suddenly put himself in between Zoie and her door.
"Hey, uh..." he trailed, raking his hair with his hand. "Miles... he's treating you good, right?"
Zoie narrowed her eyes at him. He didn't sound mocking or condescending like he usually did when he was talking about Miles. Asher was... genuinely curious this time.
"Yeah, he does," Zoie said reassuringly.
"And you're happy?"
"Absolutely,"
Asher kept his eyes on her eyes. Maybe he was trying to see if she was lying or not. She wasn't. She really was happy. This weekend was one of the most fun weekends she's had since she got here. For once, she knew what it felt like to be in a real relationship... with a real guy... doing real things.
"Good," Asher said as he swallowed hard.
"Uh-huh," she nodded, flashing out a smile. "Good night, Ash,"
"Good night, Zoie,"
And with that, Zoie walked into her room, letting out a big, relieved sigh as she closed the door.

- - - - - SEVERAL DAYS LATER - - - - -
"Oh, Zoie! Baby! Ugh!"
Miles grunted heavily as he continued thrusting upwards. Zoie's dress was hiked around her stomach and she was straddling him. They were sitting on the driver's seat of Miles's car. Even though the Range Rover was a big car, cars weren't made for stuff like this. Zoie had to keep one hand above her head to keep her head from hitting the ceiling every time Miles made an upward thrust.
"Ouch! Ouw!" Zoie yelped in pain as her head was now hitting the side window.
"Ah, hold on," Miles said as he maneuvered their bodies. He lifted Zoie up and laid her down on the passenger seat. He then climbed on top of her, knocking his knees against the dashboard and steering wheel in the process.
"Ouch..." Zoie grimaced as her butt was positioned awkwardly in between the seat and the gear. This didn't feel good at all, but she powered through, letting Miles take his position in between her legs and try again.
Several days had passed since the weekend and Miles and Zoie were getting busy with it. Their schedules were crammed with school and baseball, but they used every chance they got to meet up for a quick session. Honestly, Zoie could wait until the weekend or until they go on a proper date or something, but Miles couldn't help himself. Like today for instance, Zoie only had thirty minutes in between classes, but Miles still insisted on seeing her. They met at the baseball field parking lot and got straight to it.
Practice makes perfect. At least, that's what they say.
Miles was pumping and thrusting with all his might and Zoie felt her head hitting the car's side door. Again, this wasn't the best experience. In fact, it might be one of the worst ones yet. Zoie was miserable in that position, but Miles seemed like the time of his life, so she just kept quiet and waited it out.
Luckily for her, the torments were never long. Within minutes, Miles came with a loud grunt, emptying his load into the condom. Once he was done, he pulled away and proceeded to clean himself. Zoie sat up straighter too, pulling her underwear back up and pushing her dress down.
"Damn, baby, that felt so good!" Miles said with a long, satisfied sigh. He adjusted himself back in his pants and rested his head back.
"Uh-huh..." Zoie muttered lowly, avoiding eye contact with him.
Feeling rather awkward, Zoie quickly grabbed her bag and tidied her hair.
"I gotta go to class," she said. This one wasn't a lie. "I'll see you tomorrow, then?"
"See you tomorrow, babe," Miles said as he leaned over and kissed her.
Zoie forced out a smile before climbing out of the car. Then she went straight to class, choosing to forget whatever the hell just happened there.

"How to have better sex?"
Zoie typed those words into google and waited for the result. She was sitting in class, sitting all the way in the back, and instead of listening to her professor's lecture, she was busy learning about the tips and tricks of intimacy.
Zoie thought that by giving it some time, things with Miles would get better. But honestly, it only got worse. After the bland night out at the cabin and the awkward car sex, she and Miles had tried it again and again, but she still couldn't... reach the finish line.
Try some foreplay. Try something new. Use lubrication...
Zoie read through all the tips, but most of them she already tried. They weren't working and she didn't know why. It wasn't like she wasn't attracted to Miles or that he wasn't hot, because he was. And he was pretty well-endowed too in that area. But for some reason... she just... couldn't get there.
Why!? Why was it so easy with Asher and not with Miles?
Zoie hated comparing the two guys. There was nothing to compare in the first place because one was her boyfriend and the other was just her bodyguard. A family friend who was hired to keep an eye out for her. Nothing else.
Letting out a sigh, Zoie closed her laptop shut as the class ended for the day. Miles had offered to take her home after class, but she lied and told him Asher was picking her up. Asher wasn't picking her up because he thought she was with Miles. Zoie did all this because she just wanted to be alone. She couldn't handle another bad experience. She needed some time to recover. Because turns out, being in a relationship wasn't just sunshine and rainbows all day long. Sometimes it's exhausting and painful, unsatisfying sex too.
After a good twenty minute walk, Zoie finally arrived at her apartment. She opened the door to find Asher standing by the kitchen counter. He was cooking something, probably some steaks by the smell of it. And he was shirtless too, only wearing a pair of low hanging jogger pants.
"Hey," he greeted her.
"H-hey," she stammered. She didn't know why she did that. She just suddenly turned nervous and she couldn't stop staring at his tan, delicious abs.
"You got something to say to me?" he asked, raising an eyebrow up.
"N-no," she stammered again. "It's Tuesday, don't forget to take down the trash!"
Asher narrowed his eyes at her and Zoie's cheeks flared up out of control. She couldn't handle the embarrassment anymore, so she quickly turned to her heels and headed straight for the bedroom.
"Hey, you don't wanna eat?" he called out.
"I'm not hungry!" she yelled back and slammed her door shut.
Once the door was closed, Zoie let out a long sigh. She dropped her bookbag on the floor and threw her body on the bed. Staring up at the ceiling, Zoie closed her eyes and the first thing that came to mind was Asher's abs again. They just looked so strong and delicious. Especially with all the tattoos running across his chest. And that jawline that was sharp as hell. And that sexy smirk playing on his face...
Unable to control herself, Zoie found her hand moving to her skirt. Her fingers slipped inside and she started rubbing her clit.
Oh, Dear God, please forgive me for this... I promise I'm not a bad girlfriend, but I... I just wanna come.
Zoie recalled the way Asher kissed her on that first night. She was standing flushed against the car in the garage and he was right in front of her. He reached for her wrists and uncrossed her arms from her chest. Then he pinned her wrists back against the car's window. Zoie looked around and she had no room to move away. His face was now so close to hers. He leaned his nose to the crook of her neck and inhaled her scent. Zoie's entire body began to shake. Something was brewing inside her like it was ready to explode.
"You're not gonna regret this, are you?" he whispered lowly into her ear. "Little girl?"
And that was it. Something exploded inside of Zoie and she lost all sense of decency and control. Before she could change her mind, she grabbed him by his neck, stood up straight, and crashed her lips onto his.
Zoie felt her body moving without her permission. Her hands linked around his neck instinctively, wanting to pull him closer. Asher responded by letting out an appreciative groan, and he deepened the kiss, causing the knots in her stomach to twist harder. His hands were now roaming her body, and every inch of skin that he touched burned like wildfire. Slowly, his mouth started trailing kisses on her jaw and neck. And when he hit that specific spot under her ear, Zoie's entire body shook uncontrollably.
"Tell me when to stop," he murmured, and his hot breaths enveloped her ear.
Don't stop. Don't ever stop!
Zoie rubbed herself harder and harder. She remembered the feeling when she was lying on the cold metal of the car's hood in that garage. Asher was on top of her and his hand was moving down her waist. With her lower body completely exposed, Zoie felt the skin of his shaft pressing against her. Her body grew tense as he was running his tip all along her folds.
"Hey, relax," he said knowingly, running his fingers gently along her folds.
Soon enough, his mouth was on her lips again and his kiss was mimicking what his finger was doing down there. He slipped his tongue into her mouth and it danced circles around her tongue. In the same way, his finger slipped into her folds and danced circles around her clit. Zoie's entire being was now a puddle of mess. Her body was shaking as unintelligible moans escaped her throat.
And the next thing she knew, Zoie was seeing stars. Stars and explosions all around. She reached her climax and came unraveling all over her own hand. Her body jerked and convulsed, until finally, she let out the biggest sigh of relief. A relief that she hadn't felt in days. Weeks even. Her body suddenly felt light and it was like she was floating on the clouds.
Ahhh. This is exactly what I needed.
Smiling a satisfied smile, Zoie adjusted her position and snuggled against her pillow. Her eyes were getting heavy and she was dozing in and out of sleep. With the last blinks of her eyes, she noticed her bedroom door was slightly ajar.
I could have sworn I've closed the door...?
Zoie didn't have the strength to get up or think about it anymore. Her eyes fluttered shut and she was brought into a deep, peaceful sleep.
