Caliana's POV
"Why would she think that?" I asked,
"I don't know why kids think anything," He said and I sighed at his hard tone.
"I'll talk to her tomorrow," I said and he grabbed my hand and tingles shot through me, however, he didn't release it.
"Follow me," I badly needed some sleep but I followed him silently to his home office, he sat behind his desk and gestured for me to sit on the guest's chairs.
"As Luna of the pack you are entitled to benefits," I raised my eyebrows, I didn't know that.
"A monthly salary, car, and some privileges that ladies like," He said.
"Oh,"
"Yes, so here is your salary..." He handed me a check and I gasped at the amount, I have never received so much, not even working day in and out back home.
"50,000?"
"Yes, you've done a good job this past month," I didn't realize he'd notice my work around here.
"Thanks," I smiled, I knew exactly what to do with this money.
"Alright, I'll go to bed," I said, he hadn't dismissed me just yet, Alpha Edward was staring at me, looking at every detail on my body and face, his eyes lingering on my lips and eyes before he nodded his head. I walked to my room happy, I threw myself on the bed and danced. Taking off my clothes, I crawled into bed where I slept.
I woke up early and marched downstairs to prepare Love's breakfast before school. I made her toast bread and sausages. I also made a few extras in case someone wanted them. The princess was already at the dining table with her father.
"Hi, sweetheart," I greeted Love but she only gave me a side smile. I asked the servers to bring out the Alpha's breakfast which they did and he started to eat while watching Love and I. I sat next to her and stroked her hair,
"Is everything okay?" I asked.
"Yes,"
"Are you mad at me?"
"Yes," She was direct.
"May I ask why?"
"Because you don't like me and you hate Miss Sparkles," I was confused, Alpha Edward and I shared a glance.
"I like your cat," I said.
"Then why did you ask June and Candace to throw her away!" She screamed at me. Love never raised her voice before.
"Love," Alpha Edward intervened but I raised my hand to him,
"I didn't do that," I told her gently. " I'd never do that,"
"You're a liar, Candace told me that you hated my cat and you are going to make me clean floors like Cinderella!"
A muffled chuckle resonated from Alpha Edward's chest and I glared at him. He only shrugged his shoulders innocently.
"Candace was lying to you, I love you so much," Her eyes were glassy with tears and she crossed her arms against her heaving chest. I was going to make those ladies pay.
"Why would she lie," She asked. Love's tears started to fall one by one and she was crying now. I lifted her from her seat and put her on my lap, calming her.
"I don't know why some adults say the things they do but it's not true," I assured her while glaring at the Alpha who watched us with concern. Love wrapped her arms around my waist and we stayed in an embrace for a long time.
"And you don't spend time with me anymore," She sniffled.
"I have been a little busy but we will do something together soon," I promised. She nodded her head and I pulled her breakfast plate to me, she slowly ate and complimented my toast.
"I add an essence to it,"
"Who taught you," She asked. A smile curled on my lips
"It was my father,"
"Wow," She said.
The Alpha stood up,
"I'll see you later, ladies," He curtly said after kissing his daughter's cheek.
"Aren't you kissing Cali too?" She asked
"Love," I hushed her but the little girl was determined
"Kiss her Daddy, on the lips," She insisted, the Alpha brought his face close to mine and my heart started to beat fast. His eyes were on me and when he kissed me, I felt a zig of electricity. The kiss lasted a few seconds but damn, I wanted more. I blushed when we pulled away.
"Happy?" He asked his daughter
"Very, I love you, Daddy,"
"And I love you too,"
I took Love to school and we chatted the whole way, on the traffic lights, I saw Candace and June in orange uniforms, painting the walls in an alley, I smirked. Reaching the school, the driver opened the door and she kissed me before running to join her friends.
"Where to, Ma'am?" The driver, Ron, asked.
"Downtown Corner, I need to say hi to some friends," I smiled maliciously at the driver who nodded.
