Marco stood in the darkness, gripping the tiny black device in his hand. His fingers tightened around it, his breathing sharp and controlled as realization sank in.
Someone had been watching him. Listening. Recording. Every conversation. Every move. His jaw clenched so tightly it hurt.
“Who the f**k did this?” he muttered under his breath, his mind spinning. And then—his rage locked onto one name.
CarmenShe was the only one who had been in and out of his office before he threw her out. She was the only one who had access to his private files, his business dealings.
And after today?
After she had boldly approached him at the meeting, claiming she had “found something on Ella?”
She wanted to distract him with Ella. “F**king traitor,” he hissed.
His fingers flew to his phone, dialing her number. The line rang once. Twice. Then—straight to voicemail.
Marco’s fury burned hotter.
“Pick up the damn phone, Carmen,” he growled, trying again.
Nothing.
He let out a string of curses, pacing his office, the camera still clutched in his fist. The power had been cut right before he noticed it.
Coincidence? Not a f**king chance. This was planned.
Marco took a deep breath, forcing himself to think.
If Carmen had been spying on him, what exactly had she seen? How long had this been here? And most importantly—who was she working with?
The moment the power flickered back on, the room was bathed in a soft, artificial glow. Marco wasted no time.
He dialed his most trusted man.
The call connected instantly.
“Boss,” the deep voice answered.
“Find Carmen,” Marco ordered, his tone sharp, lethal. “I want to know where she is right f**king now.”
A brief pause.
“You think she’s the one who—”
“Just find her!” Marco snapped, his patience running thin.
“Understood,” the man replied. “I’ll call you back in ten.”
Marco hung up, his fingers tightening around his phone.
His blood boiled. If Carmen thought she could play him, if she thought she could humiliate him, spy on him, betray him again—
She had another f**king thing coming.
And this time?
There would be no mercy.
