The Billionaire’s Fragile Bride

A BAD BOY 1

Ch. 34 / 106 May 07, 2026

"Go get dressed, we are going somewhere."

That was all it took to get her out of the house and down to wherever they were now.

Nothing more followed those words and now, they were in front of a skyscraper with different smaller buildings. She couldn't even point out where they were and why they were there.

David set the car to a halt, securing a pass from the valet parking services.

"Thank you, David," Callan said, smiling a little to ease the tension that compressed the car throughout the ride.

They got out of the car and headed to one of the small buildings. Orla stopped in her tracks when they were close to the door, hands delicately attached to her sides, she glanced at Callan and asked. "Where is this place and why are we here?"

"You don't have to trust me. You just have to come in to feed your curiosity." Callan responded, kissing his teeth.

Orla squinted, her eyebrows furrowing in worry. She trusted that Callan wouldn't sell her off to organ harvesters. He had a lot of money and such illegal money wasn't needed.

But…she didn't trust herself to behave courtly if he was taking her to the midst of dignitaries. She was frustrated that she didn't even know where she was going with him.

"Callan, I…" She paused when he swivelled and faced her, silencing her with his charming looks. "I just want to know." Her eyes fell on his lush lips and she quickly reminisced how they felt on hers when he kissed her that morning.

They still haven't talked about it and she felt there was a need to.

"Just come with me if you want to." He soared above her, gawking at her slender build. "Come with me, Orla." His tone was softer and more appealing as he stretched out his hands to take hers but she didn't give in.

She nodded, anticipating whatever was to come her way. He briskly moved his hand to the small of her back, and his skin connecting with hers produced an electrifying effect that caused her to shudder unexpectedly.

The glass door slid open, and an automated voice welcomed them into the classy restaurant; the biggest restaurant Orla had ever seen all her life.

The snug ambience of the restaurant blanketed her, warming her up. She stepped in with Callan, adjusting to the relaxed vibes around. There were very few people in there, all engrossed with their partners, smiling, cackling and whispering.

Callan and Orla look forward to an unoccupied table, they spot a table for three right in front of them. They settled in and almost immediately, a waiter came forward to take their orders and almost immediately, everything they ordered was delivered; two plates of grilled chicken, Sriracha Shrimp, honeynut squash, Leek and Brie Gratin and another plate of Panna Cotta, Roasted fruit and Gourmet Sundaes for desserts.

Orla had an idea of a date and this right here was no different from what she knew a date to be, but she still asked. "Are we on a date?" She picked up the knife to cut from the chicken.

Callan pretended not to hear what she said. He engaged himself in the food and didn't spare Orla a glimpse. When she dug fully into her food, he looked up at her, admiring how pretty she looked.

"The food is nice, I wish I could cook something like this." She smiled, munching on the shrimp. She looked back at him and continued. "You must have realized that I can't cook." She giggled, embarrassed. "I should thank you for always ordering those takeouts that we eat every day."

Callan sighed. If only she'd just eat and quit blabbering.

"So, can you cook?" She asked when Callan didn't contribute to her discussion.

He dropped the cutleries that were in his hand and smiled. It was a real smile and Orla was blessed to glimpse that before it faded into a frown.

"I brought you here to eat and not to talk, Orla." He said calmly.

"Yes, you did but don't you think that we should talk too? We have a whole lot to talk about, don't you think so?" She placed her hands on her jaw, eyes fixated on Callan who was back to eating his food.

"I don't think so. Eat and let's get out of here." He bellowed curtly.

"Callan, you brought me out on a date." She said excitedly. "Do you know that this is a date? I bet you don't, you wouldn't have done it if you knew."

He wondered what was going on in her little brain of hers.

Scoffing, he looked at her and said. "I know this is a date. It was arranged by me after all." Their eyes met, and they didn't stop gazing at each other, unspoken emotions refreshed their gazes.

"You know?" She was surprised.

What exactly was going on with him? First, it was hugging her to soothe her, researching yoga that would help her calm her nerves and now a date with him? She was curious to find out what was wrong with him. Callan was never this nice to her.

"I do." He sipped from the glass of orange juice, his eyes never leaving his wife. She looked so perfect in many unexplainable ways and having a conversation with her seemed enjoyable too.

"So why did you bring me here?" She asked when his face softened.

"You are in the healing process, remember? You have to leave your comfort zone, visit places and have a good time to forget about the things that enhance your recurring nightmares." He simply put it to her.

That was partly true but it was more than that to him. He wanted to take her out on a date, visit places with her and spend quality time with her, but for now, it was okay to hide under the facade of her healing process.

"Really?" She laughed. That was new to her, she had no idea she was in a healing process until Callan mentioned it. "And the kiss, was that part of the process too?" She asked, eyes on him, hoping to capture all his expressions and faces he'd make.

Callan knew she would talk about it someday. It'd been a week since they kissed and they were yet to properly talk about it.

"Yes, it was and I guess that made you feel good. Didn't it?" He smirked, staring flirtatiously at her.

Orla smiled, that was her chance if she'd use it well. So, she played along. "I wouldn't know, it was unexpected and maybe, I didn't feel it enough to know if it did make me feel good or not." She bit her lips, ordering his full attention.

"Really?" Callan gaped at his innocent wife.

He could easily read the needs in her eyes and maybe it was cool to play his cards well. He wanted her and she wanted him too, he could easily have her without making his desire noticeable.

"Yes," Orla responded sharply.

"So, how do you want to know if it made you feel good or not?" The corner of his lips twitched in a wicked smile.

"Maybe we can try another one." She blurted out before she could take back the words.

"I see, I got the answer that I wanted. My kiss did make you feel good but you just want to deny that fact. Don't you?"

Orla shook her head, digging into her food again. Silence crammed their midst and she scarfed down the food almost at a go.

"So, are we having another trial?" She looked up, pushing her plate aside when a brunette suddenly appeared in front of them.

Giggling, the brunette passed her mini purse to her assistant and whispered some words in her ear before sending her away.

"Callan Barlowe," She turned to Callan and Orla and without permission. Pulling out a chair from under the table, she crouched on it. "We meet again." She smirked, lustfully staring at Callan.
