The Assistant

Chapter 23

Ch. 24 / 28 Jan 07, 2026

If you thought being passed around like a joint at a frat party would get tiring, or boring, let me assure you that you are wrong. Incredibly wrong. I couldn’t get enough. Maybe it was because our relationships were still relatively new, or because they were constantly trying to one-up each other, or even just the simple fact that my sex drive was naturally through the roof. Whatever the reason, we weren’t bored.

“You like my cock, baby?” Patrick growled; my wet hair tangled around his fist as he pulled me back against him.

I moaned wordlessly and gripped my tits to roughly massage my nipples. Water rained down on us in a hot, constant stream, filling the bathroom with mist and making it harder for me to get the friction I desperately wanted.

“Well?” he demanded more harshly, grazing the shell of my ear with his teeth.

“I love your cock, Master,” I answered. My voice was thick and whiny, he had kept me on the edge for what felt like an eternity. “Please fuck me, I need to come so badly.”

He groaned and shoved me forward, I threw my hands against the tiled wall and dug my nails in as he started fucking me more roughly now. My cheek was pressed to the cool ceramic, my eyes closed and mouth open as I moaned and begged him to fuck me harder. Master released my hair so both hands could hold my hips, pulling me back on him with every thrust.

I was burning up inside, certain that every drop of water that touched my skin sizzled away almost instantly. The force of his cock brushing my cervix had me making little ‘oh’ sounds and gasping in shock as my orgasm climbed higher.

“It’s not even nine,” Jon grumbled sleepily. “You two are like rabbits.”

I didn’t notice when Jon came into the bathroom, but I knew he was there now - relaxing against the dual vanity while he brushed his teeth and eyed the two of us. I started to laugh but it quickly changed to a cry of excitement when Patrick’s fingers found my clit and his other hand balled his fist in my hair, using it to jerk me back and forth on his cock.

“I’m gonna come,” I gasped, my eyes wide as little tremors ran through my body. I screamed out my finish, yelling his name and feeling my knees go weak.

“Oh, fuck yes, kitten,” Master groaned in response. “Come for me, baby, come on my cock.”

My eyes rolled back and my nails dug so hard into the tile that for a fleeting second I thought I would break my acrylics or the tile itself. Instantly, Patrick’s motions sped up and he cried out loudly, sheathing himself to the hilt as he came long and hard.

It was a minute or so before he finally pulled out, when he did I almost slid to the floor without his support. Patrick laughed and held me up and anchored to his chest. Vaguely I registered that Jon had left us alone, but I brushed it away, instead, focusing on the luxury of having someone else wash my hair. I think I’d miss this the most. Neither man understood my desire to have my hair brushed, washed, petted, or played with in any capacity, but they didn’t complain when I would hand them a shampoo bottle.

I got out of the shower first and wrapped myself up, leaving Patrick alone to enjoy himself. And to brush his teeth in the shower, an act I found disgusting but he swore by. In the bedroom, I found Jon relaxing on the king bed. Plush black carpet squished under my feet as I approached him, the curtains were drawn open and sent warm golden light around the red, black, and silver room.

I threw myself facedown on the bed next to Jon. He had his glasses on and was squinting at something on his iPad. I stole the glasses and blinked as everything went fuzzy and I waved my hands in front of my face.

“You’re blind!” I told him, giggling as I rolled away from his reach. “This is why you have a driver, isn’t it? You couldn’t pass a driving test if you tried.”

He caught me suddenly and pinned me to the bed, my arms over my head while he leaned over me, a devious glimmer in his arctic blue eyes. “You’re working your way to having your ass beat, Miss Morrison.”

I stuck my tongue out and in a blur he flipped me over and jerked my towel off, his hand meeting my ass cheek with a sharp sting. I yelped and squirmed against the silky duvet, trying to get away from the burning sensation his hand left.

“Do you need the glove?” Patrick asked, sounding like he was about to laugh.

Yes! The leather glove with tiny, dull studs. It had more impact on my ass when they wore it and allowed them to go longer without hurting their hands.

“And the harness I think,” Jon replied. “She’s squirmy today.”

Oh, it was going to be a long and wonderful morning.

***

I spent far too long wrapped up between the two men either napping, fucking, or cuddling. My sex drive had tripled in the past month or so, to the point now where they were barely keeping up with me. I couldn’t imagine ever telling one of my exes that the one thing they always wanted finally happened and all it took was sleeping with much older men.

Eventually, I had to come back to reality though and got ready to head to Vicki’s place. Allie texted me the address and a warning that Mari and two other girls were already there. I sighed as I stared down at the message and steeled myself in the elevator down to the lobby. Jon had offered me the car which I balked at because I wasn’t going to be chauffeured to see friends, especially not when one of them was his daughter. Talk about awkward. Patrick, on the other hand, offered me the keys to his Jag. I think I was drooling as I took them and almost sprinted down the stairs straight to the garage.

The candy red car gleamed under the fluorescent lights, beckoning to me. The second I was in it I put the top down and tore out onto the street, my hair whipping around me as I grinned and fiddled with the sound system. In reality, Vicki’s apartment was less than a ten-minute drive from Patrick’s but I ended up looping around the block a few times just to enjoy the car a little while longer. When I pulled up in front of her building I tossed the doorman the keys and let him pull it around to the garage. Allie was waiting for me under the awning and already decked out in her clubbing outfit; a tiny strapless dress in royal blue, rhinestone coated heels, and her black-blue hair tousled into messy waves around her chin. She had cut it again, she was always doing something to her hair.

“Hey!” she called, lounging against the wrought iron railing.

“Hey,” I called back as I jogged up the steps. “Damn, nice place.”

“Right? Don’t tell Vicki though, she just keeps calling it ‘swanky’ and I’ll scream if she says it one more time.”

I snickered. We entered the glossy mirrored elevator together and she hit the twenty-fourth floor. “Listen, Allie, I have to tell you something,” I said slowly, unable to meet her gaze and wavering on if I should have said anything at all. “I don’t know if Vicki already told you, but Maritza and I are in an awkward spot right now…”

“Oh, is everything okay?” she asked.

“Yeah, uh she just kind of walked in on me half-naked.”

Allie spun around and stared at me in horror. “Both of you?”

“No! Oh god no, just me.”

“Thank fuck,” she muttered to herself. “I couldn’t imagine seeing my parents getting it on, especially after going on our Saint-Tropez trip last year and seeing Mari hooking up.”

I could hear the amusement in her voice and it made me groan loudly in embarrassment. “Don’t remind me.”

“Oh come on, you’ve seen the guys she likes to hook up with and she was raised by the ones that you like to hook up with,” Allie teased.

I elbowed her and she just kept laughing, I started to as well. Maybe it was the absurdity of the situation, or maybe it was just because she was my best friend and hearing her laugh always made me laugh, no matter what it felt good.

As we stepped into Vicki’s apartment the first thing I noticed was how empty it was. There was little to no furniture, and stuff that was there like the sofa was ancient and looked straight out of retirement home. Or a museum. Like Jon’s apartment, the place was ornate, the crown moulding was an aged gold colour and matched the sculpting on the wooden pillars lining the archways for each room.

“Lydia, hi,” Vicki said as she came out from down the hall. Her long brown hair was pulled into a twisty updo with long, thin tendrils hanging down around her face, and her makeup dark and heavy. She looked like a model. “Check this place out, fancy, right?”

I grinned and hugged her. “It’s nice, but uh, what happened to the furniture?”

She waved her hand dismissively and walked over to the pile of clothes on the couch. “It was ugly so I had the attorney auction it all off, figured Allie and I could go shopping and deck the place out.” She paused and eyed a gold sequin dress. “Might remodel a bit too, it’s a little old for my tastes.”

I quickly looked away from her as she eyed me with a smirk. Did I just imagine that? Was this what I’d have to deal with forever? Age jokes and people making gag noises when they thought about my relationships? It hurt, I didn’t want to admit it but it hurt to know that even the people closest to me would always see my love life as both setup and punchline. It’s better than them labelling you a gold-digger, I snide voice in my head countered. And like that, my mood was ruined, I could feel myself coming down from my emotional high.

I moved like a zombie, slow and robotic, only giving the answers I thought they wanted. ‘Pizza for dinner?’ one of them asked, ‘sure’ I answered, ‘how does this look?’, ‘fantastic, gorgeous,’ I offered. My heart just wasn’t in it and suddenly I couldn’t wait to get my hands on some hard liquor. As if to rub salt in the wounds, Maritza and two other girls came in off the balcony. Our eyes locked for a moment and I froze, prepared to defend myself. She glanced away quickly though, heading straight over to plush black love seat tucked into the corner, the only modern furniture in the room.

The rest of us took up spots around the room to chat about work, Vicki actually was a model, and Allie had just started something with her parent's storefront. It wouldn’t last long, she wasn’t someone that liked to work. The other three didn’t work, they were all trust-fund kids and didn’t need to, it was actually surprising that Allie and Vicki were working as it was. Once the pizza had been devoured and everyone was sure they looked halfway decent, we took off.

I was a club person, so when Allie and Vicki originally talked about a club earlier that evening I was more than down. Until we got there and I found out we were at a strip club. A male one at that. I wasn’t against the allure of a hot guy grinding across a stage or a woman, but I felt weird watching Maritza cheer on one of the dancers.

“Holy shit!” Allie exclaimed, practically drooling as she watched the muscle-bound dark skin man gyrate. “You can’t tell me James Spader is better than that.”

I snorted and leaned back in my chair, my drink sat untouched on the table. “Please, you haven’t seen what I have.”

Allie laughed and got up with a handful of bills. I watched her approach the stage and smiled to myself as I shook my head. The club was nice enough, black carpeted floors, a neon pink glowing ceiling that created an ominous glow around the cavernous room, matching pink leather chairs and couches were strategically placed around the stage, and several free-standing platforms filled the room. The air was heavy and smelled like a teenage boy's locker room, a mix of too much Axe body spray and a hint of sweat. It was actually starting to make me nauseous.

Really nauseous. I lurched forward and grabbed the edge of the table, my hands sweaty and my stomach twisting.

“Lydia, are you alright?”

I glanced up to see Maritza leaning across from her table to me. I opened my mouth to answer and immediately clamped my hand over it as I jumped from my chair, throwing it backward and bolting for the bathroom. I skidded across the bathroom floor and grabbed desperately at the trashcan before emptying the contents of my stomach into it. After a few minutes, I slid to the tiled floor and leaned back against the wall, wiping my dampened hair back. Sniffling, I wiped at the tears staining my cheeks. I felt like shit, everything ached, my throat burned from the acid, and my stomach felt like it should be concave by this point.

“Lydia?” Maritza called, opening up the door cautiously. “Is everything alright?”

I shook my head. “No,” I answered pathetically, my voice weak and strained. “No, it’s not…”

“Oh…wow…” she mumbled looking from the trash to me. “Can I get you something? Like water maybe?”

I nodded and tried to smile at her, thankful that she was here despite my previous trepidation. “That would be great, maybe some gum too if you have some.”

A ghost of a smirk crossed her face and she promised she’d be back in a minute. I pulled my phone out of my bra and texted Jon and Patrick.

12:47 PM

I’m calling it an early night and heading back.

I waited for a reply, even for the message just to show read but it didn’t happen. After a few minutes, Maritza returned with some stuff and the guys still hadn’t seen my message. I wasn’t supposed to come back tonight anyway, so it wasn’t a big deal, but it did bother me.

“Here, drink it slowly in case you can’t keep it down,” she warned.

I headed the warning and sipped slowly, thankful for the cooling sensation on my poor throat. We sat in awkward silence for a short while, she was propped against the counter while I slouched lower on the ground. I could feel the bass thumping through the floor and it wasn’t making my queasy stomach feel any better.

“Thanks,” I said finally. “You didn’t have to do that, but it was really nice that you did.”

Maritza smiled, showing off her dimples. Exactly like her father, and it made me relax just a little bit. “I’m not a stone-cold bitch all the time, you know.”

I laughed and swept my hair back, all animosity between us dissolving in an instant. “You believe me, don’t you? That I wasn’t fucking anything up for your dad?”

She looked down at her hands and I noticed her lips purse for a minute before she answered, “I know. It’s not that I wanted them to get back together, but they never got divorced and they saw each other all the time, so I never thought of him with anyone else. Especially…” she trailed off and gestured to me. “Don’t take it personally, it’s just a little fucked up.”

“No shit it’s fucked up,” I agreed. “Do you know how weird this conversation is to be having with you? Especially in a strip club bathroom of all places.”

“Can I ask you something gross?”

Gross? I cocked an eyebrow at her but she just shrugged and continued, “Have you been sick all day? Like, this morning maybe?”

“No!” I answered instantly, my stomach flipping at the thought of her insinuation. “Ohmigod no, this is it, it’s not—”

“I was just asking,” she defended, holding up her hands in surrender. “Papa and Allie both said you’ve been a bit weird lately and I just thought maybe…well…”

No. But even as I thought about it, I knew I couldn’t be certain. My IUD meant I didn’t get a period any more thanks to the hormones, so I couldn’t rely on that, but the IUD failure rate was incredibly low, lower than any other birth control. And pregnancies that did happen were ectopic, rarely fatal but usually painful. I didn’t have a period or pain, but neither was a certainty. I felt my stomach twist at the thought as I realized the shitstorm that I would be at the centre of if Maritza was on to something, instantly I lunged for the trash and started vomiting again.

Maritza came over and pulled my hair back as I spilled my guts. After a few minutes, I was able to get up off the floor and rinse my mouth out at the sink and pop a piece of gum. Mari linked arms with me and we went back to the table for me to gather my things. Allie and Vicki were back at the table with the two other girls, the four glanced over and beckoned up to the table.

“Hey, I’m gonna head out, I’m sorry,” I whispered to Allie, leaning in close enough that the others wouldn’t hear.

“What’s going on? Are you alright?” she asked, panic edging into her voice.

“I’m not feeling great, I’ll explain it later if that’s okay.”

She pulled me in for a tight hug and I returned it happily. “Alright, babe, let me know when you get home I want to make sure you get back safely.”

I said goodbye to the rest of the group, Maritza cast me a soft and reassuring smile as I waved at her. The club wasn’t that far of a walk from Vicki’s apartment thankfully, but I wasn’t entirely sure I would make it back quick enough before round three of puking. Instead, I hailed a cab and took it back to the building and waited for the valet to pull the Jag around. Part of me felt bad now, I had enjoyed it earlier, and I wouldn’t think it was a big deal to puke my guts out in my own car but I had reservations about doing that in my boyfriend’s car. And to be fair, I think most people would.

I considered briefly going back to Queen’s instead of Patrick’s, I was expected to be out for the entire night but he would understand if he got my text before I showed up. I didn’t want to go back to my apartment though, I felt like shit and wanted to be coddled and fawned over.

I knew as soon as I pulled into the garage that something was wrong. There was a Lamborghini parked in my spot, the flashy yellow sportscar hadn’t been in the garage when I left, I would’ve noticed something thatostentatious. Maybe he has a friend over or something. Not that either of them were social butterflies, but they still had a close circle.

The moment I stepped into the private elevator I had my shoes off, my feet were aching already. I carried my heels and clutch in hand and wrestled the keys out, everything was dark in the lobby and connecting rooms. Faintly I could hear talking from down the hall, Jon and Patrick’s voices, and someone else. Definitely a man. Quietly I set everything down and tiptoed my way to the billiards room, when I was sure that that I hadn’t made any noise I pressed my ear to the door.

“You need to finish signing the paperwork tomorrow evening, otherwise they’ll release everything Monday morning,” the mysterious man said evenly.

“We agreed on February, I’m not signing any documents until everything reflects that because these all say October,” Patrick snapped, irritation obvious in his voice. “When you can get me that, then I’ll sign.”

“The board wants this moving now, you’ve been flaunting this situation in their faces and they believe you’ll just keep changing the date. This is their last offer, Patrick. Unless you want to go to court, you need to sign the contract.”

What contract? Jon spoke next, throwing me off further, “He’ll think about it. Let Clark know, I’ll be in touch with Charles and the board.”

“By tomorrow,” the mysterious man insisted.

“Yes, Morgan,” Jon snapped. “We will have a definitive answer by tomorrow.”

Morgan? I jumped back in surprise as the door opened, a tired-looking Patrick stood a ways back, Jon was glaring at Morgan and urging him out. Morgan smiled at me shoved his hands in his suit pant pockets as he stepped forward.

“Hello, Miss Lydia,” he greeted, blue eyes roaming over me and my overly exposed legs. “How surprising to see you here at this time of night.”

I gaped and glanced over to Jon, unsure what to say. “You can find the door,” Jon snapped at the other man.

I stayed quiet, watching the blond casually collect his things and saunter out the door. Patrick slumped against his desk, head in his hands. Jon closed and locked the door before coming back to me, he looked tired – they both looked exhausted and frustrated if I was being honest.

“Pat?” I asked, crossing the room and reaching out for him. “What’s wrong?”

He looked up at me and my heart lurched as I noticed his eyes glistening, “I might be going to Japan.” He paused and waited for Jon to rejoin us in the billiards room. “I will be going to Japan.”

I frowned at him in confusion. “You just got back from Japan.”

“Permanently,” he clarified. “It’s not widely known yet but we’re about to break ground on a new office and I have been offered the position of COO.”

My lips parted but words were lost as I stared, unseeing, at him in shock. “When were you going to tell me?” I asked, my voice deathly quiet.

“He shouldn’t have,” Jon snapped, glaring at Patrick, eyes hard and unforgiving. “He’s under a tight NDA and isn’t supposed to discuss it with anyone outside of me and the board. Nothing is permanent yet either.”

“That’s bullshit!” I yelled. “That is such bullshit and you know it! I was there when the board was optioning to open an office in Tokyo, I took the fucking notes for that meeting to send to Charles.” The realization hit me harder than a sucker punch. “They don’t want me to know specifically because they aren’t offering you the position, they’re telling you to go…”

Tears oozed down my cheeks, I sniffled and wiped at the wet tracks in frustration. This night had gone from bad to worse.

“Dia, it’s alright,” Patrick murmured, coming around the desk to wrap his arms around me. “It’s fine. We’re just in talks right now, and there’s no guarantee of anything. If I do leave it shouldn’t be until next year.”

Next year is around the corner. It was already July, how long until they decided to break ground? What if they wanted to move faster just to get Patrick out of the office? And I was supposed to be out of Bower & Rosing’sby November, my six-month contract had become a year-long one, there was no way it would be extended again now.

I wiped my cheeks and buried my face into his black shirt, taking solace in what I could. For now.
