I open my eyes wide, choking on my saliva, she sighs and stands up patting my back, asking the waitress to bring me water.
I drink the water but my eyes are fixed on her, is she crazy? I don’t even want kids and she expects me to carry another woman's child? I shake my head.
“ Calm down?” she says composed like she didn’t drop a bomb on me. I shake my head.
After calming myself, she goes back to her office and I follow suit.
“ Sit Miss Tasaro,” I do as she says, she looks so serious leaning in her seat.
“ You want money and I want to fulfill my daughter’s wish,” she says. I laugh humorlessly
“ that doesn’t mean I’m willing to sell my womb!” I tell her sharply almost getting out of my seat but she makes a sign to calm me.
“ you need protection and money,” Is she insane? maybe she’s joking but no, she is still keeping her straight face like this is all business, oh yes. That’s why, all those tests, she knew all along.
“ you weren’t looking for an assistant, you wanted a surrogate!” I yell getting out of my seat now and walking around the room.
“ Loren’s fiance can give you both, he’s very powerful,” she says still keeping her calm voice, I hate it.
“ You’ve said it yourself, he wasn’t for the idea, now that she’s died he’ll hate it even more,” I try to reason going back to my chair.
“ We both loved my daughter, trust me he won’t turn away from you or the child,” what’s wrong with this woman, now she’s making it about the man. I put my hands in my hair, this is all confusing but she says he can give me protection, how powerful is he, no one can protect me from Mario, my own family couldn’t despite being in the same businesses.
She stands up moving from her desk and coming to me, I stand up as well, she’s as tall as I am, maybe taller, she holds my shoulder looking at me with kind eyes
“ let me help you,” is she crazy? What does she mean if I agree I’ll be helping her, she smiles as If reading my thoughts but doesn’t say anything. “ I’ll give you a week to think about it,” she says escorting me out “ take a week off,” I shake my head, I want to work.

I do the same thing every day and doctor smith is still waiting for my answer, I’m so unsure about it but the doctor is so good to me.
When I get off work I go straight to the Mall to get some food for the house, picking out some fruits as well as the doctor advised, all I have been doing this week is a thing of what Mrs smith proposed, it is a tough decision to make but once I accept, I can get the money and protection I seek
“ sister in law!” I look behind, I know that voice, I smile when I come face to face with Jeremy, he smiles coming to me.
“ Hi,” I greet with the same smile. he’s looking very handsome, wearing black jeans with a black shirt and similar shoes he wore last time but black today, his dreadlocks tied in the middle with a black band and he's holding a pretty girl's hand
“ I see you're still alive, I thought you were killed or something,” he says casually, the girl with him hits his shoulder playfully, but he pinches her cheek, they look so cute.

The girl is pretty, there is a height difference between the two, her face is pretty and black hair with blue visible highlights, it’s so nice.
He whispers something in her ear that I couldn’t get and the girl smiles revealing her pearl white teeth with a small blush
“ How have you been?” He asks, I nod and we talk a little, the kid asks me questions about how I’m doing and liking the city for far and has told me a lot about it and some places I can visit while here
“ So we’re here with my sister,” he says “ want to join?” the cute girl next to him nods then I realize he didn’t introduce us.
“ hi,” the girl smiles at me, giving me her hand when her eyes suddenly go blue, she’s looking at me, searching for something
“ Dani, snap out of it,” Jeremy shakes her, I’m looking at the girl warily, that was strange, her smile is gone.
“ I’m sorry,” she mutters before running off, that was weird, and what was this thing I felt? A different kind of energy something drawing me to her.
“ Well, excuse me,” Jeremy runs off in the direction where the girl went.

And what’s this heat am feeling on my wrist, I pull my long sleeves up and the bracelet is bright red, I remove it and put it in my bag, that is one strange piece of jewelry, but I don’t know what to do with it, maybe I should throw it away.
