Chapter 41

Ch. 41 / 56 Mar 11, 2026

Olivia Blake

“What should we do?” Johnathan asked.

“There's nothing to be done tonight other than tighten up the territory. We'll have a meeting first thing...”

“It's Christmas tomorrow--”

“I don't care what day it is. I'll see you tomorrow.”

I lied stone still, listening from the bed as Caleb spoke low – like I wouldn't hear, but I heard full well. None of that conversation sounded good and I sat up as he walked back into the room – looking peeved.

“What's going on?”

“Nothing.” He pulled his shirt on, tugging it over his shoulders.

“Something is or else Johnathan wouldn't have knocked on our door--”

“Why do you push everything!” He exploded, making fear run rampant through me. Something wasn't right. “I told you it's nothing. Now lie down and go to sleep, do not leave this room. Understand?”

My head must have nodded because he turned thereafter. A twisted stomach accompanied his departure, slamming the door as he did, I heard him lock it. He was serious. Whatever happened wasn't a small matter and since Caleb hated to involve me in pack matters, this made my heart race from anxiety.

The pup inside my belly kicked and jostled as I lied down to ease my stress. Eventually, he would have to tell me or that's what I told myself. I propped the pillows he'd just been lying on under my body, his scent was all around me, giving me comfort. It was amazing he could rile me up and bring me down all at the same time. I'd never been around a man able to control so much, including me. It shouldn't have turned me on, but it did.

I put a hand on my belly to feel the pup moving. Half his, I'd bred successfully and would soon be the pride of Silvermoon as long as whatever was happening wouldn't interfere with that. My world faded of consciousness the longer I stayed warm in bed with his smell and when I woke, he was climbing into bed. I read the dim digital clock on his nightstand, it was three in the morning – way too late for the party to be ending.

I turned into his chest as soon as he met the mattress. No matter how hard I wanted to question him, I didn't. I kept my mouth shut so he'd hold me without reservation. Caleb's warmth always soothed me and in this case, even our unborn pup. His arms came around me in a perfect wrap and he kissed my forehead.

Still, I didn't say a word. I took the time to think about what life might be like with him once we had offspring. As hard as he came off, he could love deep- I knew that because I felt it whenever his touch was soft or his eyes were gentle on me.

“Olivia, forgive me.”

My heart thumped as he whispered in my ear. There was no way he was apologizing for before, so that begged the question... His arm came around my belly and he nudged me onto my hands and knees, not to put pressure on my stomach. He filled the space above my bare back, pushing my hair off my neck and biting into me till I cried aloud.

I knew then, Caleb was cracking the no-sex rule he'd put in place. This became very apparent when his hand drew up the wetness from my core.

“I need you.”

My eyes fluttered shut as I stuck my hips up for him to access. The tip of his cock worked my swelling heat and he lined himself up in a fluid move to take me.

“Who do you belong to?”

“You.” I blushed into the bed as his cock filled up every inch of me. I yelped and grabbed the bed for support.

“That's right.” His pumping hips rocked my belly from side to side, back and forth. I enjoyed the rocking so much. I relaxed my chest into the bed so my ass was up in the air for him like a whore. He liked that.

He grabbed a fistful of my hair and breathed against my shoulders, pumping his large cock in and out of my tender folds that had started to brim with need. He was going to make me cum all over his cock and hopefully, my clutching walls would make him empty his balls. He loved to do that.

“Olivia,” he mumbled under his breath, as he began to chant it.

No more dirty talk. No more demands. He was chanting my name to me.

“Caleb...” I whispered back.

He humped me harder, bumping a perfect spot inside which made his name turn to mush on my lips. I came hard for him, like usual, but this time it cramped around my stretched belly and distracted away from the pleasure.

“Good girl. I love that.” He went harder and it hurt. The cramping and the accentuated bouncing became crippling.

I whimpered into the bed, hoping he was near an end when he pulled out of me. I stopped breathing, listening to him puff above me.

“What's wrong?”

Wrong? My heart thundered as I reached out to push through it, taking his wrist and putting his thumb between my teeth. It wasn't suggestive enough to distract him.

“I knew this was a bad idea.”

“Oh, no, I'm fine.” I lied, thank God I wasn't facing him.

He slipped off me onto his side and I turned into him right away. “I can't do this.”

My eyes searched him in the dark. “Can't do what?”

“This bullshit!”

I sat up on my elbow. “I'm sorry... it hurt a bit, I was fine though.”

“No, not us, Olivia.”

I blinked at him and he put his hand to my cheek.

“I'll call the nurse.” He went to reach for his cell phone when I stopped him by practically crawling on top of him.

“No, I don't need the nurse, Caleb. What's actually wrong right now?”

Caleb stared up at me. “Do you think I was negligent bringing Krissy and Lara here?”

I couldn't believe what he'd just asked me! Was it a real question? “W-what?”

“Did I make a mistake? Do you think it was stupid?”

“I trust you...”

He absorbed my answer like a wave of relief washing over him but it didn't quite quench all his concern. “Jackson wants them back and I don't know what to do.”

I put my hand to his cheek and even though that form of comfort made him antsy, he accepted it. “Do what's right.”

Caleb's hand traced over my side and to our pup. “They're family but you're my life. I need you to survive.”

“You're not going to lose me.”

“He's threatening Silvermoon, Olivia. Which means, it could get dangerous.”

I then understood what he meant and it made me panic. If Jackson came for Lara and Krissy, threatening Silvermoon to get them back with war or worse, then my worst fears were coming true. He'd promised me safety from invasion, rape and death. Now I had a pup almost ready to come and I would be trapped in a nightmare because I knew Caleb wouldn't give them up to his brother – not over his dead body.

My stomach lurched at the thought as Caleb felt our pup moving and kicking, it might have distracted him but it hadn't done the same to me.

I almost choked on the rising terror. “I'm safe right?”

He took my cheek through the darkness. “You have my word.” As much as I trusted Caleb, it was everyone else that scared the living shit out of me. I needed something else to think about, and since I had him in front of me in the privacy of our bed, I kissed him how I loved him.
