Chapter60: Fight

Ch. 60 / 62 Apr 02, 2026

His brother was pissed. It was clear to Sam that Beau suspected what he'd done to Mia, despite his best attempts to keep his temper under control in front of the clients seated next to them in the conference room.

Sam couldn't help but flash a devilish grin. If only Beau could see his beautiful girlfriend now, her legs spread wide as Sam's machine fucked her brains out. He would come unhinged. That's what happened when his little brother tried to play with fire, though. Of course, he'd get burned. For Beau to think that he could possibly attempt to steal Mia away from him was absolutely ridiculous.

Beau left the room under the guise of going to get his secretary, Emily, to bring in the coffee he had suggested, but Sam was fairly certain Beau just needed a moment to attempt to compose himself. It would be fun to watch Beau's futile attempts to keep himself calm while they met with the representatives from Seleka Enterprises. Beau would do his best to rush through so he could confront him about Mia's whereabouts, and Sam would take his time and drag it out the best he could so that Beau would be seething by the time the meeting was over.

Once the coffee was served, Beau did his best to press forward with the meeting, asking Pete Seleka to get to the point as politely as possible. Just as Pete was about to do just that, Sam asked an arbitrary sports question and got them completely off topic. It took Beau almost half an hour to steer them back on course.

"I actually have another meeting in about twenty minutes," Beau finally said when nothing had been accomplished in almost an hour.

"Oh, I'm sorry," Pete said. "I suppose we do need to talk a little business."

Beau looked at Sam, his eyes narrowed. "It's no problem," he said to the client, but he clearly didn't mean it when it came to what Sam had accomplished.

Deciding he'd had enough fun for one afternoon, Sam let the meeting proceed. Beau was able to satisfy the client and give him exactly what he wanted within ten minutes, then, he stood and promptly whisked them out the door, asking Emily to walk them out.

As soon as Pete and his associate were gone, Beau whirled on him. "Where the fuck is Mia?"

Sam couldn't help but snicker. Sitting back in his chair, his hands folded across his chest, he said, "Nice choice in words."

"This isn't funny, you asshole!" Beau shot across the room, grabbing hold of Sam's collar.

Now, he was starting to get a little irritated. "Let go of me, now, Beau. You want to make this physical, you know you're going to lose."

Beau's hand fisted, but he let go of Sam's shirt. "You need to go into your little parlor of horrors and let her go, whatever it is you're doing to her."

"What makes you think she wants to be let go?" Sam asked, unable to control his smile as he straightened the wrinkles Beau had created.

"She quit today, didn't she?"

"She said something about that, but I talked her out of it."

"I don't believe you!" Beau's hands clinched again. This time, Sam wasn't going to take it sitting down. He stood, reminding his brother he was slightly taller than him and probably had a good twenty pounds of muscle on him as well.

Beau didn't seem to care. He didn't back down. "Go let her out. Now. She's done here. She's going to go work somewhere else, for someone who respects her."

"I definitely respect her," Sam said, his chin lifted. "A body like that...."

Beau struck him out of nowhere. He wasn't ready for it at all when his brother's fist collided with his cheek bone. The pain radiated up into his eye and down across his nose. "You son of a bitch!" Sam shouted, charging at Beau and knocking him backward across the conference room table, sending papers and files flying into the air.

Beau didn't give up easily. He kicked at Sam, catching him in the gut and brought his fist around to pummel him in the head. Sam punched straight down, into his nose, but Beau turned his head, and he was only able to catch the side of his face. Still, it was a strong blow, and Beau groaned in pain.

"What the hell is going on?" Veronica shouted as she came in the door. "Both of you stop, right now!"

The slight woman came over and attempted to pull Sam off, but he wasn't ready to let go of his brother just yet. He attempted to push her away, not wanting to hurt her, but Veronica was small and went flying backward, falling down and shrieking in pain.

Before he knew what was happening, the room was full of other employees. Emily was there to help Veronica up, and two men were pulling Sam off of Beau. His face stung, and his eye was partially closed, but he still wanted a piece of his brother, whose ear was dripping blood down his collar. Sam tried to get away from the two men holding him back, but they had a firm grip on him.

Beau sat up on the table. "Sam, this ends right now, or I'm making an announcement you won't want everyone in the company to hear."

Realizing his brother was about to tell everyone the true purpose his secretary served, information that many speculated about but no one knew for sure, Sam glared at him. "You wouldn't dare." It would expose Mia, after all, and ruin her reputation.

"I'm not talking about what you think I'm talking about," Beau said, his eyes narrowing even more. "I know more than you think I do."

Sam's first instinct was to assume he was bluffing. Sure, he had other secrets, ones Beau shouldn't know about, ones no one should know about. Like how he'd taken some company funds and embezzled them into some questionable activities. He couldn't possibly have proof of that, though, could he?

Sam couldn't take the chance. "Fine, Beau," he said, shrugging loose from the two men holding him. "What do you want?"

"You know what I want," Beau said, his eyes slitted now. "Go. Do it. Now."

Sam continued to glare at him, wondering if there was a way he could keep his brother quiet and keep his toy. But as beautiful as Mia was, as much as he wanted her, she wasn't worth risking his fortune and his company over. She certainly wasn't worth potential jail time. "This isn't over," Sam sneered.

Despite his words, he headed toward the door that led to his office, knowing Beau would be right behind him, ensuring that he did exactly what he had asked and that Sam freed Mia.

As he walked into his office, Sam couldn't help but feel angry and slightly disappointed that he'd never have the opportunity to take Mia again. He should've known better than to hire a woman his brother recommended. Of course, Beau only wanted her here because he thought he should have her for himself. Sam never would've imagined a woman addicted to him would prefer Beau. Perhaps she didn't, and Mia would leave Beau the second she realized what she'd be giving up. It would be too late by then, though. Once he opened that door and set her free, he never wanted to see Mia's face again.

Sam turned to see Beau standing behind him near the door that led to the conference room, his hands in his pockets, a determined look on his face. "You don't want to see this," Sam said over his shoulder.

"Open. The. Door."

Shaking his head, Sam thought he couldn't do more to warn his brother and pressed the secret button that opened the door to his hidden lair.
