Revenge with My Quadruplets

Chapter 158

Ch. 158 / 160 May 08, 2026

On this day, Charlotte's siblings took her to the hospital to visit Kingsley at Derek and Emily's insistence.

At the hospital entrance, Freya and Chris chatted as they walked toward Kingsley's room. Charlotte's footsteps behind them were eager, and Diana held her back, squeezing her hand to calm her.

Charlotte glanced at her sister, understanding the concern in Diana's eyes, biting her lip to suppress the impatience in her heart.

She couldn't be blamed for being eager; since witnessing Kingsley jump from the school building rooftop, she hadn't exchanged a word with him.

Their closeness was stark, yet they were almost separated by life and death. The image of Kingsley jumping from the building was like a nightmare etched in her mind.

Thinking about it brought back that choking feeling, making her breath quicken. She forced herself to endure it, following her siblings into the exclusive elevator that took them straight to Kingsley's floor.

Being the Livingston family's private hospital, Kingsley's ward naturally had excellent facilities. It was almost like a large suite, not too crowded even after they all entered.

Aaron didn't go to the front but stayed behind the others. Chris and Ian were the first to enter and spotted Kingsley standing in the middle of the ward.

Though younger compared to them, Kingsley exuded a calm and remarkable demeanor, his eyes already serene and determined, leaving a favorable impression on people.

Upon hearing the commotion, Kingsley turned around, the coldness in his eyes replaced with a hint of respect on his reserved and noble face. He greeted each of them, appearing more well-behaved.

Charlotte's siblings, originally hostile, softened somewhat under Kingsley's calm gaze and demeanor.

It was no wonder Charlotte was fond of him. They had to admit Kingsley's appearance and temperament were truly remarkable.

Diana was the first to soften, offering a friendly smile to Kingsley. Chris and Ian, however, maintained their hostility.

When they didn't respond, Kingsley didn't seem bothered but looked straight at Charlotte through the crowd.

At that moment, Charlotte's eyes were red, tears overflowing. Kingsley's heart suddenly ached. He knew how much the events of that day had hurt her.

He had been trying his best to see her in the past few days. However, the Livingston family and the Scott family had joined forces, making it impossible for him to find an opportunity.

When he saw her again, he didn't expect it to be in such an awkward situation that he didn't even have the chance to walk over and give her a hug.

"Charlotte?" Aaron was the first to notice that something was wrong with her and quickly exclaimed, "What's wrong with you? Does the wound still hurt?"

As soon as his words came out, the gazes of everyone present turned to Charlotte. Kingsley's face even changed instantly: "Wound?!"

He couldn't think of anything else and walked straight to Charlotte, nervously grabbing her hand and carefully inspecting her whole body. "Wound? Where is it? What happened?"

Charlotte took his hand back and smiled, shaking her head in reassurance.

"Ahem!" Chris coughed loudly.

The veins on Ian's forehead faintly throbbed, and he narrowed his eyes, a cold gaze shooting straight to Kingsley's hand as he gritted his teeth. "Kingsley, please mind your behavior!"

How dare he touch their sister right in front of them? Pretending that they don't exist?

Ian's gaze cooled slightly as he locked onto Kingsley's hand, seemingly itching to peel his fingers off Charlotte's hand. Kingsley pursed his lips and let go of Charlotte's hand, backing away.

The next second, however, Charlotte grabbed his hand. She held his slightly cool fingertips and slowly shook her head, signaling that she was okay with it. Kingsley seemed surprised by her public gesture, his eyes showing a mix of surprise and disorientation as they exchanged a silent moment.

"Charlotte! What are you doing?" Aaron was the first to cry out groggily, stepping forward to pull her away. "Get loose! Get off him!"

Chris was already pursing his lips. "Charlotte, come here!"

Aaron quickly pulled Charlotte away and brought her behind Chris, stepping forward himself to cut her off from Kingsley.

"Ahem..." Beside them, Freya fought against her fist pressed against her lips to cover the hard-to-suppress smirk at the corner of her mouth and said, "Kingsley, come back."

Kingsley didn't say anything more. After sweeping his gaze over Charlotte, who was being held back, he turned and walked back to Freya.

"It's rare that we're all gathered together. Why don't I invite you all to join us for lunch today, as a way to thank you for your concern for Kingsley? How about it?" Freya tried hard, with the intention of getting more time together for Charlotte and Kingsley. She smiled at Chris.

On the other hand, after Ian and Chris exchanged a glance, Chris spoke out with a faintly contained smile: "Thanks, but we came over simply to check on Kingsley's injuries. Now that he is unharmed, we can also rest assured. To be honest, we still have important matters to attend to, so we won't bother you anymore. When we have the chance next time, we can have dinner together."

"Important matters?" Freya froze slightly, not expecting them to leave.

Ian didn't hide either, lifting his eyelids and saying directly: "We are going to catch a flight. Diana and Charlotte are both preparing to settle abroad. In the future, there won't be anything important that would bring us back to China."

The latter sentence, naturally, was something he made up.

As soon as these words came out, Freya froze slightly, and Kingsley's sharp, cold gaze shot straight at Charlotte.

She was leaving? Why? Was it because she was forced to do so by her family, or was it because she had seen such a horrible scene of himself that she decided to leave?
