"This is Calla, the newest member of the family" Illeya announced to a group of at least 30 men and women, "she is my sister, and we will make her feel at home here."
I felt like a bug under a microscope. Unfamiliar faces of men and women just stared at me and I felt like crying.
"Isn't that Velkovs girl?" A woman called out, she had bright blue hair, and looked to be in her early twenties.
There were immediate whispers that swarmed the room at the mention of Sinisters name.
Illeya sighed, "yes, Karrie, she was. But she is here now, and she is here to stay."
Karries face went cold as the reality set in that I was the first in commands wife.
I will always be Sinisters. I kept telling myself.
The whispers erupted into loud conversations, and it was impossible to make out what everyone was saying. I recognized a few of the assholes that helped take me away from Sinister, but other than that, everyone was complete strangers.
"Won't sinister come looking for her?" Karrie called out again.
Steffen took a step forward, "we will make sure that won't happen. They won't find her."
I hate him. I hate everyone. I want sinister.
I tried to pull away from Illeya, but his grip was iron on my shoulder. I felt like ninja kicking him, in his little rat face.
The room was filled with loud talking, and Illeya placed his hand on my back as he led me over to the girl named Karrie.
Up close, I noticed she was very pretty, different looking, but pretty nevertheless

Her neon blue hair was bright as hell, but she had these cool ass green eyes that were lined with dark makeup.
I still hate her.
"Karrie this is Calla, I was hoping you two could be friends."
I glared at Illeya, "sorry, I don't really want to make friends."
Karrie grinned, "bye Illeya I don't like you either."
Ooh wait I might like her.
Illeya chuckled, before leaning in and doing the grossest thing ever. He kissed her.
"EW! What the fuck? Did you drug her? Why are you RAPING HER?!?"
They pulled away, Karrie was laughing, but Illeya looked completely unamused.
"Calla, this is Karrie, my girlfriend."
I made a face, "are you holding her family hostage or something?" I leaned in to whisper "Karrie, are you here against you will too?"
Illeya shook his head, before walking away.
Karrie turned to me, "no, I actually like your brother, believe it or not."
"I choose to not believe that. What's the appeal? He looks like the bottom of my foot."
She laughed again, and for some reason I seemed to hate her a little less, "we've been dating for awhile."
I noticed her accent was completely American, it was a refreshing change.
I made another face, "I'm sorry, you deserve better."
I glanced down at her outfit, it was hella cute. She wore a ripped black tank top that was tucked into a high waisted skirt.
Wait no, BAD CALLA. Do not make friends.
She shifted, "are you really Sinister Velkovs girl?"
I flinched at the sound of his name, "we're married."
Her dark brows flew up, "married? Are you serious?"
I nodded, "yes, I love him."
She leaned in a little, "but don't you know what he does?"
I snorted, "of course I do, but you and your little friend group aren't any better. Stop pretending like you are."
She tucked a lock of neon hair behind her ear, "we only kill people when necessary, we don't traffic women, we're not as bad."
"Look" I sighed "I don't expect you to understand, and I don't have to explain myself to you."
She shrugged, "I just think you're better off here, you're not in as much danger here."
I laughed, "I don't want to be here. I hate it here, and I hate everyone here."
Her green eyes widened, "you don't want to be here?"
"Are you fucking kidding?" I asked "hell no, you little children of the corn took me away from my husband, my home."
She opened her mouth to reply, when Steffen walked over to us. A fake as shit smile plastered to his ratty face.
"You girls getting along?" He asked, placing his arms around both Karrie and I.
I immediately pulled away from his grasp, "No."
He laughed like he thought what I said was a joke. Not. Joking.
His watery eyes glanced at me, "Calla, sweetie, we're going out for dinner soon."
Sweetie.
I made a disgusted face, "noo, we're not."
His gray eyes turned serious, "yes, we are."
I opened my mouth to make a snarky response, when it dawned on me...escape route.
I had a friend growing up, Gabby, she lived in the apartments in the Alexeevsky neighborhood. If we're going to dinner anywhere near there, I can make it. I just pray that she still lives there.
Instead of replying to Steffen, I stretched out a forced smile and nodded slowly. I would LOVE to throw his ginger ass into a meat grinder. Grind. The. Dick.
Steffen ran a hand through his hair, "let's go, shall we?"
I'm going to get the fuck outta here.

I stepped into Steffen's Toyota, slamming the passenger door with excessive force.
He sat beside me, the car pulling out of the driveway. I glanced back at the house, it was a lot bigger than I thought it was, it was red brick with multiple balcony's.
"Hey, if you're little a cappella group makes enough money to buy a house like this, then why do you drive a Toyota."
He pulled onto an on-ramp, "because we don't see the need in buying flashy sports cars, like some people."
"I think sports cars are so hot. Oh, wait, now I know why you drive a Toyota."
I clicked on the radio, cranking up the volume to the song Rap God.
Steffen's pale lil fingers immediately turned off the radio.
"Dickhead." I muttered.
***
The car ride was silent for awhile before we got off the highway, turning into downtown Moscow.
the familiarity of the city triggered me beyond belief, I never wanted to come back here.
As soon as the car stopped at a light, I reached for the handle of the car. My fingers wrapping around the metal.
Steffen clicked the lock button.
Fuck.
People lined the streets, everyone looked so different from the people in America, tall blonde girls waited outside of nightclubs, Russian cars were parked all around.
Steffen pulled into the Maialina Pizzeria Napoletana parking lot.
I used to come here as a kid...
I used to love this place. They were always so nice here, they used to give me coloring books and give me free oatmeal cookies when I was here with my parents.
Okay Calla, get your shit together. As soon as he unlocks the car, you're gonna Usain Bolt, and get the fuck outta here.
I carefully kicked off my shoes, making sure he didn't notice. I know I sure as hell cant run in heels.
He unlocked the car as he pushed the car into park, as soon as I heard that click, I took off.
I heard him cursing, saying something along the lines of "fuck, I knew she was gonna do that."
The streets were full of people. I thought about screaming and yelling for help, but at this point I just wanted to put as much distance between us as possible.
My little legs were working overtime, sliding between the crowds of people. A few people cursed hastily at me, but I didn't give a shit, I needed to get away.
I glanced behind me, Steffen was following close behind, his face was emotionless as he ran after me.
I sprinted across Main Street without looking, a car slammed on the brakes and honked on their horn. My breathing was short and panicked as I reached the other side of the street.
Okay, I know exactly where we are, if I can make it a few more miles, I can make it to Gabby's house, Alexeevsky was only two more miles away.
I looked behind me again, Steffen was close...the realization dawned on me; I couldn't outrun him.
I guess we'll have to play hide and seek.
I crossed another street, sprinting towards Zaryadye Park, it was full of trees and nature trails, the perfect place to lose a stupid person.
I felt like throwing up, I was practically wheezing, the icy winter air stung my lungs as I heaved my way into the park entrance.
"Calla!" Steffen yelled "stop running! I'm not going to stop chasing you!"
Stubborn lil bitch.
I gave every last ounce of strength I had in my body, to sprint as fast as possible onto a random trail.
It was completely dark, and there was a forest that surrounded the path.
My sprinting had put some more distance between Steffen and I, and I ran around the winding trail.
When I thought I was far enough away, I hopped off the trail, running through the forest. Branches and twigs scraped my arms and legs as dove behind a fallen tree that was about a hundred feet from the trail.
As soon as I landed behind the trunk, I covered myself with undergrowth, hiding myself as best as I could.
My breathing was rapid, I was completely exhausted. I slapped my hand over my mouth, trying to keep my breathing as quiet as possible.
I closed my eyes, listening as hard as possible for any footsteps approaching.
I was quite proud of myself, I didn't actually think I would get this far, but freedom seemed so close.
My heart froze as I heard the crunching of footsteps nearby.
"Calla! Sweetheart please stop hiding!"
Don't call me sweetheart, you little Satan worshiper.
"I can see your footsteps calla!"
Fuck, that little boy scout.
Nothing would make me happier, than to see Steffen 6 feet under. That man cheated on me, and took me away from Sinister. I want to stab him, bloody up his stupid white polo shirt.
There was the crinkle of leaves right next to me, I pressed my hand harder to my mouth as I felt adrenaline pumping through my veins.
I will literally go Kim Possible on his ass.
Suddenly my legs were pulled out from under the grass, and I was yanked up to see a very unhappy Steffen.
Shit.
