From Wife To Mistress

Chapter 16

Ch. 16 / 30 Oct 16, 2025

The unmarked door gleamed black as wet ink, reflecting the emerald silk of my dress back at me like a dark mirror. No sign, no number—just Miriam standing beneath a single spotlight, her gold lamé dress molten against the darkness.

"Obsidian Circle." She pronounced each syllable like she was teaching me a new language. "Welcome to the other side of your life."

"What is this place?" My heels clicked against the pavement as I stepped from the car, the pale coat draped over my shoulders catching the wind.

"Strange that you're rich, powerful, and don't know." Miriam's laugh rang out sharp and knowing, her diamond earrings catching light with every movement. "It's built for people like you and me. People who understand appetites."

"I prefer boardrooms to whatever this is." My fingers found the white-gold cuff at my wrist, turning it unconsciously.

"No." She grabbed my arm. "You spent your free time drowning in depression, Angie. Wasting away in that beautiful apartment. Now you get to spend it on the other side of life—where everything burns brighter."

The door opened at her approach—no doorman, just silent recognition. The building itself seemed to bow to her presence.

Inside, darkness transformed into something luxurious.

Black lacquered walls swallowed sound while amber lights cast honey-colored shadows across burgundy velvet.

The air itself cost money—perfume that could buy cars, cognac older than buildings, the particular scent of power concentrated in one space. Staff materialized from shadows before desires could form into words.

"Tonight's special." Miriam wove through clusters of women whose jewelry could fund small countries, leading me deeper into the velvet maze. "A troupe from Prague. Men and women who've made desire into high art. For women only, once a month."

"High-end strip club?"

"Performance art with benefits." She claimed a reserved table on a raised platform, two throne-like chairs overlooking a white marble stage that gleamed like bone. "Watch and learn."

The lights dimmed until darkness became absolute. Then—

Bodies emerged like pale flames. "The Tame Storm" show began with two women in mirrored masks binding a man in blood-red silk ribbons, each knot choreographed, each loop a small surrender made beautiful.

The dancers moved like poured mercury—slow, inevitable, hypnotic. Their bodies painted shadows across the marble stage that seemed to pulse with its own life.

My pulse quickened, heat spreading through me that had nothing to do with shame. This wasn't cheating—this was research. I deserved to be here, deserved to want, deserved to learn new ways to take.

The final tableau left the audience breathless: three bodies suspended in silk, intertwined in an impossible sculpture of controlled desire and artistic surrender.

"And now," the host's voice poured through hidden speakers like aged whiskey, "the auction. Bid for private time with any performer. The highest bidder claims their choice for one hour. Boundaries set by you alone."

Miriam leaned close, her breath hot with champagne and anticipation.

"The tall one with the scar across his ribs—see him? I’ll take him apart. I’ll tie that big, beautiful man to a chair with silk scarves—those ones I’ve soaked in rose oil, so every time he struggles, every time he pulls against them, he’s drowning in the scent of me."

She smirked, her teeth gleaming like she was about to devour him whole.

"I’ll blindfold him with Venetian lace, so fine it’s practically a fucking ghost. He won’t see a damn thing, won’t know where my hands will land next—his throat, his chest, his cock, already hard and leaking for me. And he’ll beg. Oh, he’ll fucking beg. ‘Please, Mistress,’ he’ll gasp, his voice rough and broken, ‘may I taste you?"

"Jesus, Miriam." The words escaped before I could stop them.

Her fingers traced idle patterns on the edge of her glass, but my mind was already picturing them sinking into his hair, pulling him closer, forcing his face between her thighs.

“I’ll edge him, stroke him, tease that thick fucking cock until he’s shaking, until his whole body’s a goddamn symphony of need. I’ll make him scream my name, over and over, until it’s the only word he remembers. Until he’s sobbing, desperate, fucking broken. And only then, only when I’ve stripped him down to nothing but raw, shuddering need, will I let him come.”

Her laughter, low and wicked, crawled under my skin, and I could almost smell the sweat, the sex, the fucking power she exuded. She wasn’t just going to fuck him—she was going to own him.

"Your turn." Her eyes glittered with dangerous curiosity. "Who catches your fancy?"

The moment crystallized. "I don't need strangers. Hannah's becoming our shared lover—Andrew's and mine."

Miriam's champagne flute froze halfway to her blood-red lips, her entire body going rigid.

"I'm going to dominate them both. Use them for my pleasure. Explore control like these dancers explore silk and shadow."

The auctioneer's voice became white noise. Miriam set down her glass with a crack that made nearby tables turn.

"What the hell are you doing, Angie?" Her voice dropped to a whisper that cut deeper than shouting.

"Taking control of my life."

"Taking insane risks." She gripped my arm hard. "This is why we're here—why places like Obsidian Circle exist. These performers, they're professionals. They understand boundaries, safe words, the difference between fantasy and dangerous reality. They're tested, vetted, part of a community with rules."

"I know what I'm doing—"

"Do you?" Her face flushed with genuine anger. "Andrew and Hannah—they're not from this world. They don't understand the rules. One misunderstanding, one moment where boundaries blur, and you're looking at a scandal that destroys everything you've built."

"You knew I was planning this—"

"I knew you were planning revenge through sex. Not systematic domination of people who've already betrayed you." She leaned closer, her voice urgent. "Your position at the company—one leaked photo, one recorded conversation, and Davidson will have you removed. HR violations, potential assault charges if someone feels coerced—"

"Hannah already agreed—"

"Hannah's desperate for money! That's coercion by definition." Miriam's nails dug deeper. "And Andrew? He's an artist with connections to every gallery in the city. One whisper about his wife forcing him into scenarios he didn't fully consent to—"

"It'll be fine." The words came out colder than intended.

"It won't." Her voice turned to ice, each word precise as a scalpel. "I've watched brilliant women destroy themselves this way. They think they can control everyone, rewrite every rule. They end up as cautionary tales whispered about at parties like this."

My mood curdled, the evening's promise souring into something bitter. "Then buy your scarred dancer. Get your needs met with your safe, vetted professional. I'll meet mine differently."

"Angie—"

I stood. The emerald dress caught the light as I rose, throwing green shadows across Miriam's stunned face.

"Enjoy your evening, Miriam."

"You're making a mistake." Her voice followed me as I turned away. "These aren't people you can trust with this kind of power exchange. They've already proven that."

I walked through the club with deliberate slowness, my heels marking each step like a countdown. Let them all see me leave on my own terms—unhurried, unaffected, unbowed.

At the door, I turned back one final time. Miriam sat alone at our table, watching me with an expression I'd never seen on her face before.

Fear. Raw, genuine fear—for me.

She didn't wave. She just sat there, a golden warning I chose to ignore.
